(And speaking of poetry, if any of you like poems, maybe check out my collection "Motel 8"?

message 76: by Reagan (new)

Reagan This summer I want to read cheesy romance books that are light and flowy. I don't want to read something dark and scary but summery and romantic for teen readers. Any suggestions?

message 77: by Karen (new)

Karen Reading all of Deanna Raybourn's books

message 78: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany I'm currently reading a Venice Mystery Series since I visited Venice this spring. It's called the "The Venetian Game" and I've started the sequel called "Vengeance in Venice". I don't usually read mysteries, but my husband has got me started on them. I've got kpop romances lined up, but the Venice series took over. Favorite authors: Marilyn Vix, Lynda Belle, Kate Allure, Vivi Anna, and Anne Rice.

message 79: by Sally (new)

Sally Summer Reading have you tried Author Honor Raconteur? She has 36 books out and a new series will be released in June.

i-am-a-book-fangirl Danielle wrote: "I will be rereading The Summer I Turned Pretty, which is not exactly as great as TATBILB, the Selection Series, the Crazy Rich Asians trilogy because it's an easy drama, the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games trilogy, the Grisha Trilogy, Six of Crows Duology, The Giver Quartet, and everything Rick Riordan the moment I get out for vacation. I'll also read whatever "trashy" YA romances that haven't been checked out from the library in years. Maybe this will be the summer I FINALLY get to reading all of Cassandra Clare's books and start the ACOTAR series and Throne of Glass series. Ooh, and finally read The Maze Runner Box Set because that's been sitting on my shelf forever. Of course I'll revisit classics such as Rainbow Rowell's books, V.E. Schwab's books, and works from the likes of Shakespeare and Austen. This will be the time I slay my TBR and start To Kill a Kingdom, because the mermaid/siren theme just screams summer. I have a lot of time over the summer and I'll probably finish most of my reading challenge; I read at least two books a day over the summer. I would also love to find some good anime/manga/light novels, and appreciate recommendations. Happy Summer Reading to all!"

Ok, so after reading your post there's so many things I love there.

I've just finished the Throne of Glass series and it's amazing. Every single book. Some people don't like the first book though and there are some nasty reviews but stick with it.
As for Maas's other series, also really good. I can't choose between them.

"To Kill a Kingdom" is also on my TBR list.

I only watch dubbed anime so I only know a few but I'll list them anyway (in order of preference):

Fairy Tail (childish I know but still really good),
One Piece (also childish and really good),
Blue Exorcist,
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic,
Akame ga Kill,
Sword Art Online,
Seraph of the End,
The Devil is a Part-Timer,
Food Wars,
Nagi no Asukara,
Chunnibyou demo Koi ga Shitai,
Haganai,
Toradora! ,
Snow White with the Red Hair,
Problem Children are Coming from Another World, Aren't They? ,
Assassination Classroom,
Black Cat,
Masamune-kun no Revenge,
Shakugan no Shana,
Yuri on Ice,
Restaurant to Another World,
Gate,
I'm going to add in Avatar: The Last Airbender even though it's not an anime but is definitely a lot higher up on my list.

As for manga, I've only read the ones of anime that I love. So:
Fairy Tail,
Blue Exorcist,
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic,
Akame ga Kill and
Food Wars.

When I watched all of the other anime at the top of my list I didn't embrace manga as much but they're on my list of starting.

Happy Summer Reading to you too!

Sarah I'll be going for a lot of light summer reads. Rom-coms, contemporary, running off somewhere exotic, that sort of thing. Especially as I'm doing that myself and running off to Greece in a few weeks.

Michael Hill There has been people on the beach (4km) here for the past week but I do live in southern Spain. I am rereading some books I have not read for decades that i know are good. I also want to write a sixth book in the next few months but nothing concrete at the moment.

booklover02 I’m working on all the Shadowhunters novels. Haven’t read Mortal Instruments yet but I watched the Shadowhunters show while reading the Dark Artifices, so some things mentioned from the Mortal Instruments series I kinda understand, especially characters
