It was nice to have these compiled in one article, but these lists aren't new; they're just reposts from a prior year. I'd be happy with a yearly refresh of the data going into each list, and more top 50 or top 100 lists in additional genres.
Everyone NEEDS to check out "The Silent Patient" by Alex Michaelides!!! I read it in three days and I've recommended it so much that the local B&N where I work sold 84 copies in March. Pick it up and check it out.
I’m not impressed with the content of any of these lists and very curious as to what their deciding criteria was.
Wow, am happy tomsee tjat i am not the only one who wants historical fiction. And please, make it diverse historical fiction, not only ww2 stories...
Yes, where is historical fiction? How about my book, “Westcoast Legacy”. An exciting tale about a family trying to survive in the 1850’s in Fort Victoria and the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. Life gets even more exciting as they start investigating rumors of Spanish gold!Ian Kent
Red Moon at Sharpsburg by Rosemary Wells and You Bring the Distant Near by Mitali Perkins are two of my all time favorite historical fiction novels.
I agree. I read some of these a year or two ago. And a few of them shouldn't have made ANY gotta read lists.
It's always the same story with these lists; either I've already read the books or rejected them.Maybe an occasional list of less obvious choices for all of us readers who have already been there and done that?. A list of overlooked, under-rated or lesser known books of quality would be nice.
I honestly never understood the concept of "seasonal reads"... I have just always read whatever I want, regardless of what the weather is like lol
