When looking for the best recommendations in the young adult genre, we decided to turn to YA authors themselves. Narrowing down their list of "chosen ones" was certainly no easy feat.

This list is sooo useful.I am a YA writer and it's great to see what the young people rate. I shall get reading as well as writing.

There are a fair number of books in here that I have either read or have on my "want to read" shelf on here. I'm so glad "In Other Lands" is getting recommended as well. A personal favorite of mine (and one that takes place during the summer) is Vodník by Bryce Moore.
I have 0 idea what A Sky Painted Gold is about, but I just added it to my TBR, because Laini Taylor recommends it and apparently that's all I need to know...
Sadly, the ones I want to read most (The Lovely War and A Sky Painted Gold) are the hardest to find. C'est la vie.
THIS IS A REALLY GOOD LIST!! The ones I want to read are Lovely War, Halsey Street, Black Enough, 4 dead queens, king of scars, the decivers, they both die in the end, hot dog girl, let me hear a rhyme, carve the mark, and aurora rising. Some of these are already on my want to read.

The cover is amazing, and the author is really sweet! The book is roughly based on St Michael's Mount in Cornwall, according to her!
