Which Big Convention Should I Go To This Year?

One of my resolutions this year is to go to a big conference. The two that I'm considering are the RT Booklovers Convention in Rosemont, Illinois and the Romance Writers of America Convention in Anaheim, California.

Right now, I have to say I'm leaning toward the RWA convention. Mostly, because it's in the late summer instead of the late spring, and I'm still feeling pretty stressed out with these revisions and the babies and life in general. Maybe I'll have things under control in July?

Or...

Weekly Goals

Last week wasn't the greatest productivity-wise. It took a while for me to get back in the swing of things. The three days I had someone watching the babies were great, though. Got lots done then. :-)

I know most of you following this blog are readers, but for the few writers out there who might be reading, I post writing related tips and thoughts over on the Magic & Mayhem Writers blog every Monday. Today, I posted about the 5 Email Folders Every Writer Should Have. If you have time, check it o...

Weekly Goals

I hope everybody had a fun and safe holiday! I certainly did. But I'm so glad the new year is here. I'm ready to get into a routine and be more organized and productive in 2012! And for the first time ever, I've made New Year's Resolutions. I wrote about my writing focused resolutions in a guest post on the Full Moon Bites blog and then I wrote about my personal resolutions on the Magic & Mayhem blog. I'm hoping I'm able to keep all of them!

My writing day is just about to get started. Super l...

The Great American Inbox Cleanout!

I am so horribly bad at keeping my Inbox clean. I hardly ever delete things. I don't know why. It's easy to just click "delete" and have a message disappear, but I don't always do that. I guess I think I might need the email later? But, really, do I need to keep FB messages, Google Alerts, and advertisements for months? It's become so bad that my Thunderbird program keeps asking if it can compact things to speed everything up.

Plus, I'm so slow at responding to emails. I read everything when i...

Achievement Unlocked!

When I started out on this crazy publishing journey, I had a few goals for my book.

1. To have 5 people love my book as much as I love/worship/adore the books of Linnea Sinclair, Julia Quinn, Patrick Rothfuss, etc. So, a lot of you like my book. I guess some of you love it as much as I love the books of my favorite authors? Seems so presumptious to think that. I'll just leave this one unchecked for now.

2. To have Felicia Day* read my book. Why Felicia Day? Well, take a look at her Goodreads

Happy Release Day to Amanda Bonilla and SHAEDES OF GRAY!

(Please excuse this drive by blogging. Madly working to finish up book two (The Shattered Dark). I'm hoping to not be such a recluse after Thursday!)

I want to send out a huge congratulations to Amanda Bonilla. Her debut urban fantasy, SHAEDES OF GRAY, hits the shelves today!

(From Goodreads) In the shadows of the night, Darian has lived alone for almost a century. Made and abandoned by her former love, Darian is the last of her kind—an immortal Shaede who can slip into darkness as easily as...

50% Off Any Book

Want 50% off THE SHADOW READER or any other book? Barnes & Noble is offering 50% off any book in store or online when you "like" their Facebook Page. That means you can get THE SHADOW READER for just $4 plus tax! That's a great deal if you heaven't read it yet or if you want to buy the book for a friend (books make FANTASTIC stocking stuffers! *innocent look*).

This deal is only good for today, Sunday, November 6th. Since I already have quite a few copies of THE SHADOW READER, I did a quick...

THE SHADOW READER Hits the Shelves!

It's release day! You guys, I am so incredibly excited that you all finally – FINALLY – get to read McKenzie's story.

The Shadow Reader

How have I spent my day? In between feeding babies and changing diapers, I've been reading all the Happy Release Day tweets from you guys, checking Facebook and email, and grinning at all the photos my friends and family are sending me of my book in their hands or on the shelves of bookstores (right by Tad Williams' OTHERLAND series!). This evening, we're going out to dinner...
