She promised.”“So did you,” Nicholas snapped. “So why in hell would you break that promise?”“Because I love her,” Jacob said, quietly but with no hesitation. He was looking down again, his gaze fixed on his hands, linked together in front of him. “Because I’ve been lying to all my friends for as long as I’ve had friends, and I just…” He sighed, looked up at Andrew, then Nicholas, eyes pleading for them to understand. “I needed someone to know. I needed just one person to talk to about it. About what it’s like to pretend I’m not what I am. Or what it’s like to train with you. Or…”  Jacob swallowed hard. “I just needed her to know. So when she tells me she loves me, I can believe her instead of thinking she’s in love with a lie.”Andrew opened his mouth—and closed it again without a word. He was still mad at Jacob, but he had heard a pain in Jacob’s voice that he had never before suspected was there. It tore at his heart like Jacob’s tears always had, and—like always—Andrew would have done anything to soothe his son’s pain. But this time, there was nothing Andrew could do. This time, Andrew was part of the problem, and not the solution.“So what?” Nicholas asked, words sharp as fangs. “Every time you fall for a girl, you’re going to tell her? Wait a minute. Don’t fucking tell me that you’ll always—”“You know what, Dad?” The feet of the chair scraped the floor when Jacob abruptly stood. “You’ve been in love with the same person for a hundred years. So if you tell me love doesn’t last, I’m going to laugh in your face. Really hard.”

1.   When did you start writing?Before I could write real words. I used to make “books” from paper and construction paper, held together with glue or yarn, and scribble my stories, which would invariably change, since I wasn’t writing real words. J
2.   What makes your stories unique?For every story, I want to wrench as much emotion as I can from the characters and the plot. I want my readers to laugh, cry, and most importantly to fall in love.
3.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?Perseverance. Love is many things—great and splendid. But my characters are all gritty and raw and will persevere through whatever life (or me, actually) will throw at them. 
4.   If money was of no concern, what would you envision as your perfect lifestyle? (where would you live, what would you do all day, etc.)I love my life with my family and pets, and right now I have a garden that makes me so happy. That said, if money was just rolling in, I would love to quit my day job—as an editor, buy horribly expensive cars and trucks, and spoil my loved ones with everything they’ve ever wanted.
5.   Name a few of your favorites (colors, TV shows, movies, stars, songs, etc.)
I binge watch Orange is the New Black and House of Cards. I’m obsessed with Game of Thrones, but only the HBO series, not the books—sorry! I adore Alexis Hall’s writing and can’t get enough of his books. I never can pick a favorite color because I love so many—namely blue, green and red. And I love summer days next to some kind of water—river or lake or ocean—with my family.

“Jesus, in one day you’ve been shot and burnt by me.” He ran a hand through his hair, swallowing as he watched the angry red dots of skin turn back to glowing flesh. “Oh, wow.”
“It’s okay.” She wiped a little more at one of her legs. “See? I’m all better now.”
He straightened looking down at her. She was tall, only about four inches shorter than him, and he liked that. Way too much.“Yeah, but I never want to hurt you.”

He shook his head. His nerves weren’t from her outfit, although they should have been. And he wasn’t acting like a teenager, all jerky movements and clumsy, because she was a Valkyrie with a longsword strapped to her back. Those things should have freaked him the hell out.
It was her—her scent, her voice, her hazel eyes that held so much fear yet seemed to see straight into him that had him acting fidgety.He sucked in a breath. “You want a change of clothes?”
She blinked, a delicate pink blooming in her cheeks, neck, the small portion of her chest he could see.
He took another step back and looked at the sauce, flinching when he saw the noodles and took them off the burner. Glad to be busy doing something as he drained the pasta, he said, “I mean, I have sweats you could borrow, get comfortable in.”
She didn’t say anything for a long moment, but finally whispered, “That’s very nice of you. I’d like that.”
“I’ll, ah, get dinner ready while you change.”

Sprawled on a big, soft couch, I was reading some kinky novel in the library, my favorite room of the house. Henry stormed in and threw a bunch of sheets of paper on my lap. They were covered in words and letters cut-out from magazines and newspapers, which made them look like something out of an old-fashioned, film noir flick. You know, those classic black and white films where some Bogart-looking actor plays an anti-hero, usually a cynical private detective. He’s approached by a mysterious femme fatale who wishes to hire him either to find out who’s after her or to help her get rid of someone. 
“What’s that, sweetie? The studio head’s idea of a clever pitch for a remake? Or did the printer break down?”“Very funny, Clara. They’re the letters I’ve told you about. There’s a new one every day. Sometimes two. We should go to the police.”“Nonsense! Forget about them.”“I can’t. You’re in danger.”“You’re overreacting. I’m not in danger. Throw them away. Burn them. I don’t care what you do, just get rid of these letters. They don’t mean anything.”“But, they say they’ll take you away. They go into a lot of details about what they’ll do to you once they get you. I must confess I have nightmares about some of them. We can’t sit on our hands and do nothing.”I grabbed a few of them, skimmed them over and showed them to my overzealous assistant.“Here, darling, look. They say they’ll teach me a lesson because I’m a slut who ruined George Clooney’s marriage. You know I didn’t wreck George’s marriage in real life. My character had an affair with his character in a damn movie. Why would I worry about these letters, for crying out loud? They’re a load of crap.”“Because whoever is writing them is clearly insane, that’s why. There’s no need to be afraid of mentally healthy people.”I petted the couch beside me. After hesitating for a couple of seconds, Henry sat beside me and I ran a hand over his muscled thigh.“Relax, will you?” I kept stroking his leg as I spoke softly in his ear. “I’m not afraid of this lunatic. I don’t want to lose my precious freedom over something so ridiculous. And that’s what’s going to happen if Peter finds out about these threats, you know.”I kissed his neck before tracing his ear with the tip of my tongue. He shivered, but went on talking, although his voice sounded throaty.“As your manager, that is his job. Besides, I saw somebody following us in a tinted-glass SUV the other day.”Henry’s breath was choppy by then, which was an excellent sign, since I had been trailing soft, open-mouthed kisses up and down his neck, along his tightly set jaw. I nibbled his earlobe while he stroked my inner thigh, under my short skirt, until he reached its top.

Prologue
The crowded streets of Salem a few weeks before Halloween
“Blixana. You shouldn’t be out here. What if someone sees you?” Esmay, her brownie watchdog tugged at the sleeve of her shirt.Frustrated and in no mood to listen to the lesser fae, Blix marched out past the boundaries of the old churchyard and found herself in a world of mortal enchantment. She’d observed for far too long and tonight she was going to taste everything. Nothing in Faerie could ever compare to the bustle and sheer humanity of the sights in front of her.The streets were chock full of people, mostly on foot. Human women dressed in a combination of riotous colors and black, some sporting broomsticks and others giant gourd like creations with faces. Men dressed in black walked along, their eyes caressing the women next to them, no doubt in anticipation of what else the night had to offer behind the thrall of closed doors.The scent of baking and sugary snacks sent her mouth watering. And the loud raucous laughter from a place called The Copper Kettle beckoned her the loudest. What did these humans have that drew so many inside? Was their ale as good as the Summer Meade in Faery? No doubt it was better. More earthy.She ran a hand down the denim fabric she’d seen the humans wear and a thin top that still let the chill of the October winds dance along her skin. She would have to return before the Dark Queen found her missing. But for a little while she could wander in a world where what you saw was very often what you got. It was not so in Faerie.“Get back here. Do you want the Fenris to see you?” Esmay hissed. “He’s the guardian of the Gate. Did you not think he would notice you slipping through?”Blix locked her jaw and turned to face the little tattletale. “Go ahead, Esmay. You tell him. All I wanted was to come across before it got locked down for Samhain.”Esmay let go of her and crossed her arms over her chest, looking up at her with a belligerent expression. “If you go out there, I can’t protect you from the wolves. Or anything else that comes prowling.”“You won’t need to,” she scoffed. “Now go. I’ll be back soon enough. I’ll even bring you back a sweet.”The greedy brownie’s eyes glittered in the dark as Blixana stared down at her. Esmay was already caving in; she could read it in her eyes. The promise of sweets always won, whether it was back home or sneaking a treat from a trespassing human on a picnic in their churchyard. Her mother served in the Dark Court, as did Blixana’s and they both knew their way to enjoy a moment or two without the intrusive eyes of the Court watching. Thus far they’d only gone through to visit the Gate protected churchyard, but as in everything else, Blix was given an inch but preferred to take a mile. “Fine. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Boundaries for a reason. Pix addled pixie. Going to get killed. See if I care.” The brownie stomped off, leaving Blix to her own devices.Where should she go first? No human money graced her pockets, but she didn’t need it. A simple turn of the wrist and a light step made anything she wanted ripe for the taking. Her slippered feet rested on the concrete sidewalk and she frowned, taking in the footwear of the passersby.With a wink and a nod, she glamoured the slippers into black boots, rocking back and forth on the two inch heels, marveling at how they felt on her feet.Striding forward, she brushed a strand of hair out of her face and let herself be absorbed into the crowd. With the costumed folk all around her, no one would notice her differences, but all the same, she made sure the pointy tips of her ears were hidden beneath her hair.She’d gotten half a block when she felt the chill breeze of Other at her heels. Scuttling forward on the new boots, she scurried deeper into the fray of partygoers.What could be trailing her? A nymph perhaps? Or even a sprite? They both loved the thrill of adventure and chomped at the bit to delve into the human world.Or was it a selkie, easy to transform into human form and then back into the body of a seal? She turned her head upward, letting her senses run wild but she couldn’t tell in the crush of people.“Damned brownie. Probably ratted me out already.” She spotted a tavern up ahead. The Copper Kettle. A smile turning up her lips, she darted forward, only to be yanked back by a fist in her hair.“Going somewhere, pixie?”She collapsed to the ground, two large men standing over her, the moon shining in their eyes.Wolves.A shiver tore through her. She’d heard tell of their ferociousness but had never seen them before. But still not as deadly as a sidhe warrior could be. How could they be? Mayhap she could outrun them and make it back to her churchyard. She scrambled up, only making it a few feet in an alley right next to the pub before they downed her a second time. A well placed boot had her sprawling out amidst the damp grass and discarded beer cans and cups.“What…what do you want?”“You broke the treaty. Fae don’t belong here.”She blinked, her mouth gaping open like a fish. That was supposed to be an old wives tale. No one but Fenris guarded the Gate.“Please. Let me go.”“I don’t think so, little fae.” The larger of the two knelt down, his teeth much too sharp in his mouth.Then he smiled. Blix started to scream, lashing the wolves with a dose of pixie dust, the only curse she knew thrown in for good measure. Fang and claw were the only truths she knew as they tore at her flesh.“Get off me!” She doused them with an inconsequential burst of pixie dust to no avail.Battered and bruised, she fought and struggled to remember the vibrant colors of Faery, instead of pain and the greasy beer smell of the mortal plane. Esmay was right. She had been a fool, but she was not yet without a parting gift for her attackers. One more spell. One more burst of power from the deepest parts of her. The only spell she’d ever read from her grandmother’s book of the arcane.As she slipped from the world, sight leaving her eyes, she smiled as the gleam of crimson found its way into the eyes of the now cursed wolves and surrendered freely to the welcoming darkness.

1.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?There are two themes which tend to creep into my writing.  The first is the above idea of a strong woman, not a shrew, but a woman who fights for what she believes in with her whole heart.  The second theme is the idea that each character’s motivation stems from a concept of love - love of money, love of power, loss of love, and even simply love itself. 
2.   If money was of no concern, what would you envision as your perfect lifestyle? (where would you live, what would you do all day, etc.)My perfect lifestyle is a tropical island, with no neighbors, and a boat anchored just off the dock.  I would eat freshly caught fish, swim in crystal blue oceans, and bonfire on the beach every night.  During the day, I would write (yes, even with all the money in the world).  Every few months, we’d pull anchor and sail to the coast, so we could visit the people we loved.  I would really enjoy a helicopter pad too, just because sometimes a boat just isn’t fast enough.
3.   Besides writing, what things are you most passionate about?I am passionate about books in general: reading them, writing them, organizing them, and collecting signed paperbacks.  I also love football (the American kind), working with chocolate, and any holiday that involves decorating.
4.   Not limited to writing, what do you believe to be some of your greatest accomplishments so far?Some of my greatest accomplishments are: getting my first two novels published, graduating college with a B.S. in Business and a minor in French, and raising three kids.

“Really,” Benjamin murmured thoughtfully, his eyes flickered over the young men roving hungrily on the sidelines.  “I do not think you know the first thing about men.”
“I do,” insisted Samantha.  She stopped dancing to place her hands firmly on her hips.  The childish pose brought a smile to Benjamin’s lips.“Let me show you how much you do not know.  Shall we retire to the terrace; it is such a lovely night?”  Without waiting for a response, he grasped her wrist lightly and tugged her towards the open glass doors.  Samantha followed reluctantly.The balcony, bathed in light from the ballroom, provided shadowy corners for couples seeking a little more privacy.  It was into one of these dim corners that Benjamin pulled Samantha, pushing her back against the ivy covered bricks.  Both his hands rested on the greenery, sufficiently trapping Samantha between his body and the wall.  He inhaled her scent, sweet like honeysuckle.He moved closer, the heat from her body licked flames onto his skin.  Their breath intermingled, caressing two pairs of lips before escaping into the star-spattered sky.  His hips slid nearer, pressing into her with his unreleased desire.  One finger tipped her chin until she was forced to stare into his eyes.  The other hand moved behind her head, clasping her neck, just above the bodice.“This,” he rumbled softly, their lips separated by mere centimeters, “is how a potential suitor might behave.  Can you handle this?”   “Yes,” she answered defiantly, her voice wavering.  She placed her hands on his chest, as if she were planning to shove him away.  However, she did not exert any pressure, nor did she move them; her hands remained splayed across his broad chest.“And this?”  He inched closer, his lips brushing her in the barest of kisses.“Yes,” Samantha managed to squeak out.Benjamin kissed her again; lightly at first and then with increasing urgency.  He deepened the kiss, his body pressed against the full length of her.  His hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her against him.  Unconsciously they tightened their carnal hold.  His lips nibbled the corners of her mouth.  Urgently his tongue pushed past her lips, tasting her sweet breath.“Mmmm,” her protest died under his assault.  Attempting to mirror his actions, she kissed him back, not as forcefully, but with the same passion and intensity he felt.  He wanted more of her.  He wanted to take her right here, on the balcony, in full view of every guest in attendance.  He needed to claim her as his, forever

She was alone.
The pressure between her legs as she sat nearly catapulted her over the top.

Who is Muffy Wilson in her own words?I am a wife, mother, daughter and sister first and an author of provocative romance about love, sex, hope and passion second. I was born in Texas to traditional parents. With two older brothers, I was the youngest, the family "princess," indulged and pampered. My father was a career Colonel and pilot in the U.S. Air Force which required our family to travel extensively. I spent my formative years in Europe and 'came of age' in France (a state of affairs that gave my father much cause for concern one loooong summer on the Italian Riviera!) which forged my joie de vivre and love for books, writing and education. I liked Aldo a lot then too.
What is one thing you would like the world to remember you for?I am a simple person. I would like to be remembered as a good person, loving wife and nurturing mother. I never met a stranger nor turned anyone away that needed help. And I have tried hard to learn from my mistakes but I am not always successful in that endeavor!
What got you into writing?An old boyfriend from high school.  We reconnected after all these years and he writes self-help real estate books. And I was selling real estate on the side, so we still had a lot in common. That said, I took a significant departure from self-help to provocative romance.
Are you a full-time author or do you have a day job as well, and if so, what do you do?
When I first started writing fiction in 2010, I was still working but I have since retired and devote most of my free time to writing and anything that will keep me from doing any housework!!
Where do you get your greatest ideas for writing?My story lines come from people: watching them, listening to them, talking to them about dreams, romance, passions. About their regrets and when they lost their heart. And then, somehow magically, I'll have a dream on one of those many nights I cannot sleep and a story title will come to me. It always starts with the title for me. Always.
What is your ‘Writing Routine’, if any?I sit in the living room with my husband when he does his crossword puzzles and I write. And write. And write. His questions about clues and comments about the news or a movie go sometimes unanswered when I am in the "zone".
Tell us a saucy/intimate/personal story about yourself.Well, I was almost 36 when I got married. A child of the 60's I had a very free way of thinking about men. I thought it was healthy--at least for me. Since I worked in a man's business world, I lived my life much as men do when it comes to romance. And when I met the man that would steal my heart, I never looked back.
What are your Top (10?) Writing Tips? Writing Advice?Never start with a prologue or the weather, but start.Don’t worry if your first draft is any good; it won’t be. just start.Write every day, at the same time for the same length of time. Self-disciple is only a routine. But you gotta start…So start.Write what you would like to read, from your heart. And start.Allow yourself to change your mind. Change is a reflection of inspiration. A new perspective. But start.Name your work immediately and give it life, honor, position, credibility, purpose. You’ve started!.Keep notes of anything favorite or interesting: names, titles, phrases, descriptions, music.Each new voice requires a new paragraph. If you must, only use “said”. Anything else wastes ink pretentiously. Get started!Be kind to yourself. Your work may not be great or Nobel material, but it is yours. Accept that your voice will change and evolve, but it is still yours.There is no secret to writing. But there is an enemy — procrastination. 1.    When did you start writing?
 I wrote from my teens, I guess. I majored in English in high school and college. When I got into the workplace, much of what I did required that I write proposals, proformas, tutorials, presentations and all sorts of marketing guides and brochures. Those were some of the most enjoyable aspects of all my jobs as I rose through my career. As I rose in management, I exercised my creative writing with reviews and appraisals. I really didn’t start writing fiction until 2010 when an old high school boyfriend came back into my life and “inspired” me. It has been a love/hate relationship ever since! Love in that I love my readers and fans that enjoy my work and encourage me and hate in that so much time for us Indys is required marketing all our hard work. Now, I know a lot about marketing and have done it all my life, but it requires time, and that time is taken away from what I love most about what I do—writing.
2.    What makes your stories unique?
 I would like to think that my love stories reflect life. That they are believable and intriguing. Life’s complicated, messy, fun, loud, intricate, exasperating, multi-layered and a lot going on. One day you’re up the next day, you aren’t. The thing about writing is it is a way to get away but it is still familiar ground. That’s why we identify with, or fall in love with, or hate the protagonist or antagonist. I want my stories, whether they are romance or paranormal, to ring true to a reader, to draw them in and captivate them until the very last page. My work has often been compared to Anne Rice and the Bronte Sisters, so it tends to the floral and descriptive. It is like stringing word after word together like pearls and when done, you have an elegant piece of jewelry. It is painstaking and requires thoughtful deliberation. But that, for me, is the fun. I want you to feel the sun on your face, the glint of broken glass in the window as it streams across the room to your face and warms you. It isn’t enough that it is light and warm out. So for me? I want my readers to experience my writing. And I hope they do.
3.   Is there a common thread that runs through your books?
 No, not per se. I try not to write cliff hangers, that the story resolves, but in the two-book series, I want my readers to be satisfied, but curious about what happens in the nest book without being frustrated with the first book. That said, all my books are about love for example, in The Para-Portage of Emily, love spans a century and a seafaring ghost is unsettled in the afterlife, returning night after night to reunite with the wife he lost in childbirth. It is a gripping tale and complicated with riveting twists and unsurprising turns written in a style that would be common in the time but set in contemporary surroundings. Other of my works are fully contemporary provocative love stories.
4.   If money was of no concern, what would you envision as your perfect lifestyle? (where would you live, what would you do all day, etc.)
Fortunately for me, I am living my life in the manner and style that suits me. I am comfortable, loved and have a new wee pup, Buddy. He is a pure white 2 year old Havanese we rescued with a brown nose and amber eyes. It is so much fun having him with us. He is so sweet and loveable. We miss our wee Burt, but I know Burt would want us to honor his memory by giving another homeless pup the life that Burt enjoyed. So, I am very happy right where I am doing what I am doing with the people I love around me.
5.   Besides writing, what things are you most passionate about?
 I love to cook and I used to love to travel, but not so much anymore. I have really become a home body, working writing and helping other authors promote and market their own work. I enjoy my friends both in the flesh and online. I have met some wonderful people in my travels. My father was in the Air Force and we lived everywhere between Alaska and France. I came of age in France nearly driving my parents to the brink! And language. I speak French and Spanish is my next personal improvement project, when I get caught up with all my writing projects.
6.   Not limited to writing, what do you believe to be some of your greatest accomplishments so far?
In my writing, I have made the USA Today Bestsellers List three times for my work, Amazon and International Bestseller a few more times and awards for my work. It has made me very proud and humbled. Yes, there’s a but…I consider myself a work in progress no matter how old I get. I hope I am a better person, day by day. I hope I have become more generous, more loving and forgiving, of myself and others. I hate confrontation, but being an ambitious woman in the 70’s there was a lot of confrontation. In my “real Life” I rose, without a college degree, to become the youngest, Midwest Regional Director for IBM in the Real Estate and Construction Division in Chicago. That’s a mouthful! Anyway, I was 36 when I was promoted to that position and transferred from San Francisco. Married for less than a year, my husband and his 14-year-old son followed me and we started a new life together. It was exhilarating, hard, long hours and huge rewards. But my crowning accomplishment was become Vince Jr’s mom. If God took me tomorrow, I would be satisfied that He had allowed me to be the mother to what became a fine young man of whom I am so proud.
7.   Name a few of your favorites (colors, TV shows, movies, stars, songs, etc.)
Red is my favorite color, it’s passionate. I love the music of The Little Sparrow, Edith Piaf/ She is passionate, too! I’ve always loved The Good Wife on television but I am obsessed with Investigation Discovery. I get hooked on all the stories of swamp murders, cold cases and the endless pursuit of good over evil. I love golf, Manhattans, dinner at home and the company of my husband of 32 years. Each year is an amazement to me and a joy beyond my expectations.


Was it fate, design, or—perhaps—black magic? Who’s to say?


It was sensuous, erotic, insatiable as they fought to extinguish the passions that flamed their heat by indulging in every desire that swept them into one another’s arms. Their shared hungers fanned an appetite no amount of indulgence could satisfy.
Was it love at first sight? Perhaps. Many thought it might have been the work of the unscrupulous Sea Witch, Hermione, long a bitter and banished King’s Court Matron. So, was it the crafty wiles of Hermione, scheming to seek her sordid revenge or was it a simple matter of serendipity? All we know for a certainty is that two young royals, one landed and one not, met during a raging storm as fierce and intense as the love they would none too soon escape. Was it fate, design, or—perhaps—black magic? Who’s to say? What we do know is that it was sensuous, erotic, insatiable as they fought to extinguish the passions that flamed their heat by indulging in every desire that swept them into one another’s arms. Their shared hungers fanned an appetite no amount of indulgence could satisfy. After all, it happened…Once upon a time…



Later that evening when ship went dark and quiet, the sea turned pitch-black and started to roll with silent insistence. This was great fun for the little princess as she rode the waves with searching eyes once more into the cabin windows. She found her prince, again, and to her delight, he saw her as well. Locking eyes, she bobbed with the tossing waves and reached out to him as he leaned out and extended his hand. She ignored the darkening sky until the crack in the sky of lightening drew her attention. The young man withdrew his hand and pulled himself back into the cabin as he gathered himself to out of the cabin to his men on deck. The winds rose and the sails unfurled, bellowed from the night fury. She heard commands and screams as the ship rolled and ropes unfurled to do their work. Alarmed, the young princess grew scared for all aboard the ship as she stayed alert to avoid being hurt herself.
The sea was viciously dark against the waves as they uncurled in a white so brilliant and speckled with iridescence, they resembled the most valuable of pearls. The white rolling waves crashed down upon the swells of the ocean with a loud and resounding smash, then danced quickly across one to another until the wave expired, only to be followed by another and another, then another. It seemed, as she rode the waves cautiously, that the waves were building strength, that the sound of them crashing onto the swells was getting louder, building to a fevered pitch bringing with it a foreboding of disaster. Her fear for their safety was mounting and upper most in her pounding chest was her search, rising with panic, for the young elegant man. At once, a wave curled over the ship, sending men into the sea and causing Saira to lose sight of her prince. The violent seas were perilous even to the princess herself, so as she looked for him quickly, but deliberately, she was careful of waves tossing debris, trunks, ropes, planks, harpoons and other tools, and bodies in tumbling masses to her front. When the center mast broke, the furious wind brought it down on the middle deck splitting the ship nearly in two, pitching everything into the gaping darkness of ocean.Frantically, the little princess searched the shifting wreckage for her prince. She knew not his name so could not call out to him, not that he would have heard her over the resounding force of the ferocious seas. She felt something, or someone, hit against her tailfin and when she spun to check, it was the disappearing outstretched hand of a sailor. She could not save him, the dark grasp of the sea pulled him away from her so quickly. When she finally spied the prince, his eyes were closed. His arms and legs dangled from his limp and tossing body, now weaken by his fight for survival. He appeared lifeless and sent Saira into a heightened fear as his body could not bear his weightless life and he drifted slowly to the waiting onyx depths below.
