John Rhys-Davies has been cast as King Eventine Elessedil, one of the most important characters in The Elfstones of Shannara. You have certainly seen the actor’s work before. Rhys-Davies is best known for his roles in Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, as well as playing Gimli in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Spanish actress Ivana Baquero is headed to MTV’s adaptation of The Elfstones of Shannara! You might remember Baquero as the principle character in Guillermo del Toro’s masterpiece Pan’s Labyrinth, one of the best fantasy movies ever filmed in my opinion.

BrooksBlog: A New SHANNARA Update

A quick few words about the Shannara TV show.
First, everything is coming along fine. The initial scripts for the episodes are all written and in final drafting, pending last minute changes. All are looking great, the presentations and language and storylines strong and interesting. There have been some changes, but I don’t think any of them will disturb you all that much.
