I am out in the garden this morning, tying up tomatoes, pulling up the morning glory vines that are wrapped around the tomatoes (of course!) and enjoying the nice cool weather. What are you doing?

To me, at least, the internet--or, rather, an internet connection--has always meant social media. At first, it was email, and connecting to other likeminded people via the written word. I broadened my horizons on the internet. I met new and wonderful (and some not-so-wonderful) people, and some of them I still call friends. I started a blog, which I've continued, now, for thirteen years this November. I published books. I found new hobbies and learned new things. At one point in my life, I co...

And now, I am mobile, typing this on my new phone and using the Blogger app.
Today in the mail, I received a refund check from the credit card I just paid off. Strangely enough, it was the exact amount I had paid on that card before they sent it to collections. Evidently, they had not factored that payment into our payment agreement. I find that very interesting! (And a bit annoying, because I could have paid it off a month early, but at least they sent me a check.)

Oh, and by the way... I have three quarts of raspberries in my freezer (I've been picking about a quart a day!) and also an entire quart of currants (red and white, haven't touched the black ones yet) which will probably end up as jelly or jam.

The raspberries show no sign of stopping, the red currants are about done, the white are about halfway done.

Before I ever got into weaving, or crochet or knitting, or even dollmaking, I made jewelry. I amassed a pretty impressive collection of beading supplies, including, of course, millions of beads of various kinds. I also played a lot with polymer clay back then. And then, for some reason, I decided that making jewelry was getting to be too expensive to support itself (because of my 'pay for itself' hobby rule) and that I should do something else, which led to dollmaking, crochet, weaving, etc.

I...

White currants, picked this morning. Still have one more bush to pick, too!
Chloe Bella wants you to know there was no catnip involved in this picture.
The sweet peas are almost blocking the porch steps.
They were all originally one color, now they are hot pink, medium pink, and pale pink/white.
Raspberries ripe and ready to pick.
More ripe raspberries, and some ripening!
Potato flowers.
Hot pink sweet peas!
And more hot pink sweet peas.
More raspberries, too!
Gracie, living it up outside.

As I took the time this morning to pause in my work to watch bumblebees hatch from the small nest in one of the hay bales, I realized that even though I've not updated much about the Year of Completion, I've not stopped crossing things off my list or making decisions, either. It's still ongoing, and might even stretch into next year. And this summer is gearing up to be rather busy on the weekends. I've been helping out more with Mom and Dad's garden (although not as much as I could, honestly!...

Very early this morning, I was swept into a dream. See, right before the end of my parents' road (in my dream), there is another road. One of those twisting country roads that you only really travel down if you live there. Once upon a time (quite a long time ago, this original dream), I decided to stray from my path and ride down that road--on my bike. It was both exhilarating and terrifying. Exhilarating because I felt as if I was the only person who had ever actually ridden down that road--...

Last night, unexpectedly, I realized the garlic was ready to harvest. I only pulled half of it last night, as I was rather running out of time, so I'll get the rest this evening. Two braids of garlic are now curing in my kitchen. Which, of course, means my whole house smells like garlic. I guess there are worse things.

This week has also been raspberry picking week, and they are coming on strong. They also taste really good, and I actually have more than a quart in the freezer right now, so I'...
