Urban Shaman: Discover Your Animal Spirit Guide

You don’t have to live in the wilderness or even the country to tap into the power of native shamanism. City dwellers or anyone who leads a busy life often mistakenly think that this kind of wisdom is either inaccessible or simply not relevant. But just as we have spirit guides no matter where or how we live, we also have an animal spirit guide whose wisdom we can connect to and call upon.
You may already be connected to your animal spirit guide even without realising it. First take a look around your home. Are there multiple ornaments, pictures or even books (fiction and/or non-fiction) that feature a particular animal? If so, this is a sign that animal’s spirit is ‘talking’ to you!
Even if you have never had a pet, was there an animal you were ‘drawn’ to as a child? This can be a wild or a domestic animal. Perhaps you drew it in pictures a lot or were just fascinated by it. Recall how this animal made you feel. Chances are this animal is your animal guide.
If you live in an urban area, you are still surrounded by nature and animals. People have pets and birds, insects and even wildlife have adapted and made the city their home. Connecting to nature spirits does not mean you have to live in the country.
If you are still unsure about the identity of your animal spirit guide, then try a simple meditation. You can do this indoors – or in a park but make sure you won’t be disturbed and that your phone is switched off.
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax yourself. Imagine yourself in a beautiful, unspoilt, natural place. This can be a garden, a forest, the beach, the mountains, a river or lake, the African savannah – any place you feel drawn to.
As you walk in your wild place, take note of the sounds of nature that you hear – the wind, the sound of the waves or water, birdsong, anything. Are you drawn towards one in particular? If so follow it. If no animal is immediately visible don’t panic.
Make note of what’s happening in your immediate environment. Are there birds, insects or can you glimpse fish in a nearby lake or river? Relax and your animal spirit guide will eventually make itself known.
You can ask it what messages it has for you and take note of the impressions you receive. Thank it when you leave and walk back the way you came. Now open your eyes. When you return you might also like to do some reading about your animal guide – its habitat, habits and how it lives as these very often tend to mirror our own themes.
Remember, each animal spirit has its own unique power and energy to give you. It is yours and yours alone. You cannot compare animal spirit guides any more than you can compare ordinary spirit guides or even people. You cannot say one is ‘better’ than the other as all have their gifts. Not everyone’s power animal will be say a wolf, a tiger or an eagle.
Keep an open mind when you take your journey to meet your animal spirit guide. Some people’s animal spirit guides have turned out to be insects such as butterflies, ants or bees. They all have something to teach us – butterflies about transformation, ants about the strength of numbers and cooperation and without bees all life on earth would cease to exist.
Don’t judge your animal spirit guide by its size. You can call upon the power of your animal spirit guide whenever you require guidance and set free the intuitive power of the wild within you!

3 magical practices to create your destiny

It’s very easy to get lost in the daily problems of life, caught in constant hurdles and the merry go round of routine. When we are stuck it can feel like a perpetual pendulum of doom, especially if we take in all the heartache and disaster on the news and in the media.
So how do we weave and conjure a new reality for ourselves? How do we transcend the mundane to bring our dreams to fruition?
Here are some positive daily practices to reboot your mojo and get you into the swing of magical living. When we reconnect not only to our own individual power, but to our connection to the whole, we bring space for miracles and magic to happen. Here are 3 easy weekly steps to turn on your psychic super power to create your reality.
1/ Believe that you can create your destiny – Many people when talking about the law of attraction say that ‘thoughts create reality’ but it’s actually a bit deeper than that. We can say thoughts in our mind but if we don’t believe it’s true, we remain blocked. It’s our core ‘beliefs’ that shape our future, not just our thoughts.
So what can you do if a part of you is unconsciously sabotaging your manifesting process? Sometimes it can feel like a treacherous catch 22 situation. To manifest what you desire you have to believe it, but if you feel you haven’t achieved your desires it can be difficult to have a core trust in the process.
Believing that you can create your destiny is a fundamental step so spend some time questioning and re-framing your belief system.
Do you believe you deserve happiness? Do you believe you deserve abundance? Do you believe you deserve a loving equal relationship? Work on loving yourself and maintaining a positive relationship with you.
2/ Go on a media blackout – One of the things that takes away our ability to connect fully to our power is the negativity that streams in from the media, news feeds, aggressive TV programmes and even negative twitter and Facebook threads.
A lot of the stuff we are exposed to on a daily basis can fill us with fear and disempower us. Take time out one day a week to avoid anything that spreads fear and negativity.
Don’t watch the news and no matter how tempting, detox from ‘Orange is the new black’, ‘Breaking Bad’ and even ‘Game of Thrones’ ‘(insert your favourite show here) etc.
Instead, listen to inspirational podcasts, music and things that uplift you. You’ll be surprised at the impact this will have on your mood and energy levels.
3/ Put the work in – Taking time to focus on your dreams and goals boosts your power. Life can keep us in what feels like an eternal vortex of activity where it’s easy to roll in a comforting routine, even if it’s not working for us.
Mix up your routine and add some magic. Create a manifesting cocoon. Find some space, time and indulge in focusing on your desires. Create a Pinterest board of dreams, or go old school and cut some pictures out of magazines and have a scrap book of desire.
Write a manifestation diary and ask for small things (as well as big) and tick them off when you get them. The more you practice the easier it gets. The more you see results, the stronger the results will get.
Most importantly do something concrete towards those dreams. If you want to write a book, write one page a day. Show the Universe you are a willing co-creator of your destiny.
When we make small changes it create a ripple effect which reaches out across the Universe and can bring more than we bargained for. Throw those dreams into the pond of life and open your arms to the ripples of possibility.

6 Love tips for psychics, empaths and healers

One of the wonderful things about being an empath/psychic/intuitive or sensitive is that you have the ability to feel much deeper than most people. Love for you can be a collision of two universes in vivid technicolor. You’re likely not only to feel this life but an eternity of lives with the one you love.
Part of being an empath is the natural ability to fall into other people’s feelings and emotions. When you fall in love, this ability can be incredible as you merge and sense the inner being of your love interest. The down side of this is being hyper sensitive which can lead to the other person treading on egg shells or to an overreaction to what is being picked up.
Sensing your partners every move is a double edged sword. On the one hand your partner may feel more understood than ever before but on the other hand it can feel like a massive invasion of privacy. Sensitive people are not only very keen to please but also hyper sensitive of rejection.
The challenge
1/ Don’t take everything personally. As an empath you will have an uncanny ability to tune into every mood and emotional nuance of your partner. All of us have peaks and troughs of emotion and if your partner is feeling a bit withdrawn, even though they are smiling, it does not necessarily mean a rejection of you. Emotions are evolving and flowing and if we get stuck sensing a negative one it can put a great strain on the connection and cause you unnecessary pain. It’s incredibly important not to over react but give yourself time to access what you are feeling.
2/ Lay healthy boundaries. No doubt as a psychic you are incredibly good at sensing others needs and pain and it is natural for you to put other people first. In a healthy relationship there has to be equality otherwise you are in danger of becoming a rescuer. Your needs and feelings need nurturing just as much as your partner and when you love yourself as much as you love your partner you make way for a deeper soul connection. Being the giver all the time could eventually lead to resentment and imbalance which can erode even the strongest relationships. Beware, as it can also be a cunning escape from dealing with your own wounds and be a symptom of a lack of self esteem.
3/ Sensory overload. Merging with someone 24/7 can also be utterly exhausting! If you are feeling every emotion your partner feels it leaves little time for you to get your own stuff done. It can also make your partner cautious of sharing in case your psychic detective skills dig deeper than they are comfortable with so it’s important to respect their boundaries too. Make a pact not to delve into each feeling unless you are emotionally sharing. Be honest, how would you like someone in your head knowing your inner thoughts all the time? Humans are complex creatures and we think many thoughts in all different directions and a lot of them are just passing through.
The good news
4/ You are a stunning lover. Psychics tend to be fabulous lovers. You have at your fingertips the ability to sense what really excites and connects and turns your partner on. Don’t panic if they initially find this somewhat disconcerting.
5/ Let the love in. Making love is the perfect space to let your psychic ability go wild. Bear in mind that most people have sexual fantasies and desires which even they may find taboo. To be a great psychic lover it’s important to come from a space of non judgment and to use your open heart to sense what your lover is comfortable with. Even your kissing can make people feel as if you have kissed their very soul.
6/ Soul mates. You will know if you’re in a genuine relationship (you can never really fool yourself so if it’s not right run like the wind!) always listen to your inner voice. If you have a genuine relationship (and probably even if you don’t) your partner will feel more bonded and safe with you than anyone else on the planet (unless they date another empath!). If you deal with the above challenges you can feel assured that your relationship has a fathomless depth that well and truly blows your partner away.

Change Your Life! Week 3 : Invest in Your Future

Hello there, fearless life changers!
Hopefully you have already completed weeks one and two of our incredibly simple yet brilliantly transformational program for change. If not, please don’t skip a step and commit yourself to the full process and complete weeks one and two before tackling week three. If you are now on your third week you should by now be seeing changes in your energy, your thoughts, your attitude and how you approach life so let’s build on that now, shall we?
Changing our life is all about creating a new future for ourselves. And to do that we have to have an investment program. Just like we put aside money to meet a future financial goal it’s now time to invest in yourself and see yourself as your own greatest asset.
Now, usually when we talk about this kind of process, people immediately think about professional or academic upskilling or qualifications. But while investing in ourselves and our future can and often does include that, we don’t have to stop there. So let’s take a look at just how you can invest in yourself, create a new future and live with more happiness and passion while you do so.
Week Three: Make a Soul Investment
Time to learn a new skill that really engages you on every level – mind, body and spirit. We all need to know what we can achieve and continue to grow and master new skills. If we don’t – we stagnate it’s a simple as that and stagnation is the opposite of evolution.
As I said earlier, this does not necessarily have to be a professional skill – it can be anything you have thought about trying for sometime but have put off. It can be as simple as yoga or tai chi, a cooking class or dance lessons. The only criteria is that it has to engage your passion on some level. Try horse riding, kayaking, rock climbing, pottery, archery, joining a gym, a writing workshop – whatever appeals to you.
Commit to yourself and your future by assigning the time and the money you are going to need to do this. No excuses and no procrastination. The other mandatory is that it must challenge you on some level – this can be just the fear of making a fool of yourself or having to walk in to a group of strangers to having to master something physically such as muscle strength or coordination.
The important thing as well is to stay the course and to understand that nobody becomes an expert at anything over night. If you want to master something you have to practice – but when you start to see the results you wll experience a growing sense of empowerment and achievement which will then have a knock on effect to other, completely unrelated areas in your life. Take that first step towards investing in yourself and your future in week three.

Soul mates : What To Do When Things Cool Down

You’ve recently met someone special. You ‘clicked’ from the very first moment you met and there seemed to be a terrific soul connection between you. Since then you’ve been spending almost every spare moment together. Perhaps they’ve already told you they love you and have even mentioned plans for the future on a couple of occasions. Everything seemed to be unfolding beautifully but now, six to eight weeks along something’s changed. Perhaps they’re not returning your texts or calls like they used to – or you’re just not spending as much time together and they seem a little distant when you do. Or maybe they’ve told you they feel you need to ‘cool’ it for a bit even though they care about you. What’s going on and what should you do?
First of all, let go of the idea you’ve done something wrong. Psychologists now know that the six to eight week mark in a new relationship is a crucial period for the relationship’s evolution. It’s the time when serious soul ties are made – the relationship now has to evolve to a deeper level – or not. The other aspect to consider is that if you’ve just been dating for a couple of months and things have moved very fast there is a tendency to ‘future project’. After all, if you’ve been spending every spare moment in each other’s company during the past few weeks where will you be in another six weeks’ time? Living together? Married with a mortgage? Sometimes one or both partners can panic and pull back because things just seem to be moving too fast.
If this all sounds familiar what can you do?
Don’t – panic. And above all, if your new partner is acting a little distant don’t bombard them with emails, texts or phone calls asking if they are okay or worse, gifts to ‘win’ back their interest. You’ll come over as needy or desperate – not a good look.
Do – get busy. And if you partner suggests you see each other a little less, agree. Tell them that you love being with them but that your family and friends must think you’ve been kidnapped! If your partner sees that you acknowledge the situation this takes the pressure off both of you. Now call your friends and get back to your interests. Relationships need variety and balance in which to thrive ad chances are when your partner realises they have space within your relationship they will get closer again.
Don’t – agree to being just ‘friends’ or ‘friends with benefits’ if you’re looking for a long-term relationship.
Do – explain calmly that just ‘friends’ did not appear to be what you were and that as you are looking for something more serious and long-term, it appears you both want different things. This is a hard one especially if you’ve developed serious feelings for someone. But you have to understand that if they are suggesting you radically change the deal that appears to be on the table, they will not change their minds later. They could be emotionally unavailable on some level. By stating what you want and being firm on this you stand a better chance of getting what you need – and you emerge with your self-respect intact. If your partner doesn’t agree then chances are they would never be able to give you what you needed in the long term anyway – so better to find out sooner rather than later.
So what is the soul-growth opportunity here? When we enter into a relationship with another we are not only getting to know them but discovering a new facet of ourselves. We are changed as we discover this. If your new love wants some space, see this as an opportunity to integrate what you’ve learned about how you are in relationships – and that includes the ones you may have been neglecting! It also serves to remind you how you are in the one relationship that lasts a lifetime – the one you have with yourself. The people we fall in love with are just reflections of the love we have inside ourselves all the time. So be the lover you want to be in love with and chances are, your outer love will reflect just that back at you.

Connecting to the Multiverse – How Our Brains ‘Choose’ Our Experiences

When Stephen Hawking was elected to the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics at Cambridge University, his inaugural lecture had the ambitious title ‘Is the end in sight for theoretical physics?’ Hawking suggested that science was close to accomplishing the ultimate goal – the unification of all the laws of physics into one, consistent framework that would encompass all reality.
Theories such as the holographic universe, unified field and supersymmetry seem to point to this. Now, research into neuroplasticity and neurophysiology not only fuse quantum mechanics with cutting-edge medicine but appear to be providing breakthroughs in our understanding of consciousness and how we ‘exist’ within this quantum field.
To quote Dr. Ian Weinberg, a consultant neurosurgeon at the Linksfield Park Clinic, Johannesburg: “The non-locality dimension of the quantum environment represents a timeless and spaceless milieu in which matter/energy/frequency is in a state of constant flux. It has been shown that processes of human consciousness may convert and precipitate information from this quantum dimension into our five senses-based reality. This is termed collapsing the wave of possibilities.”
In other words, our ‘consciousness’ is connected to the quantum dimension and downloads our information directly from it – collapsing the quantum wave of all possibilities into the one we experience. We experience this via our brains. Hence – when people say we are the creators of our own reality – it might be more accurate to say we are the down loaders of that reality since all variations of it exist! When we look at our evolution, it’s plain that as we have evolved our understanding and ability to ‘download’ has increased. We’ve now proved that we can create new neural pathways in the brain – thus affecting what we can ‘download’ – in other words, changing our experience.
Dr. Darryl Reanney, the acclaimed molecular biologist believes that the key to a unified theory lies not in physics but inside our own brains and that we may have reached the boundaries of what can be understood by us now simply due to the way our brains are constructed. He says: ‘What lies before us is the final frontier, the mysterious border at which we are prevented from seeing more deeply into the nature of things, not by the construction of the world but by the construction of ourselves.’ In other words – in order to reach a better understanding of our universe we may need to reach a new peak in our evolution.
Dr’s Hameroff and Penrose at the forefront of the study of quantum consciousness have discovered that neurons in the brain form microtubules which comprise a crystal-like lattice structure. They posit that it is these structures that allow the quantum information to interface with the neural circuitry of our brains. As these neural pathways evolve and produce more lattices they may allow us to ‘download’ more – thus increasing our understanding of the universe and altering our experience within in.
If time is something we’ve created to stop everything happening at once then our brains also lack the circuitry right now to prevent us from accessing all possible outcomes and every dimension in the multiverse. As Darryl Reanney put it ‘The essence of the human quest is to break free of time, to reconnect to the eternal in all of us, in that space where the past and the future interleave, the reality laboratory of our own minds’.
In the future we may discover that our minds are not only designed to create our own reality – but to access every possible variation of it and consciously choose which one we will experience. Want a different reality? Then expand your mind.

You're the best psychic – here's how

I grew up in a magical household with my psychic mother where we trusted and relied on our psychic intuition. I was shocked to encounter people at school who knew nothing of this world but I never doubted it for a moment. I genuinely think it has saved my life on numerous occasions and been a huge support to me. I believe we are all psychic. We all have a sixth sense and an inner voice which can guide us to a better reality.
Some people are natural psychics and don’t even question it, they were born with their psychic intuition shouting loudly in their ear. Awakened psychics live with a greater awareness every day and it’s normal. Others feel they have limited psychic ability or none at all and always seem to take the wrong turn.Perhaps you always know who is on the phone when it rings or when someone you love is in trouble, but feel that is as far as it goes?
What if you’re really a great psychic, the very best psychic, but just never knew it? Could it be that you just haven’t trained your sixth sense and it’s actually laying dormant, but very much alive? If you really were a great psychic, how do you think it would impact your life? What would happen if you spent the next week presuming you were psychic?
Practice these five steps for seven days and prepare to be amazed!
1/ You are the worlds best psychic – Without judging yourself every day for the next week imagine you are the worlds best psychic.When you wake up in the morning visualise how your day will be. Who will you meet, what energy will you encounter? Is there something you want to draw into you? Imagine all the knowledge of the future is available to you. Still your mind for 20 seconds and then write 5 paragraphs without thinking, but going into as much detail as comes to you. Don’t edit or question it or even read it back until the end of your psychic adventure.
2/ Listen to your gut – Take a moment to look at each person and situation you encounter with new eyes. Tune your energy up by stopping and feeling, rather than making rational assumptions. When you meet someone think about what you feel about them. What does your gut say? What do you feel in your heart? What do you feel when you look into their eyes? How will this person impact your life? Listen to your psychic hunches and follow through by acting accordingly.
3/ Boldly predict the future – When making a decision to go out for dinner or attend a business meeting, or hook up for a hot date, write some notes in your phone or a notebook. Again it is important not to think or edit what you are going to write down, just do it and let the information flow. You may find that some of the stuff you thought was ridiculous has strange and deep meaning by the end of your psychic journey, so don’t leave anything out.
4/ What dreams may come – Dreams are often a powerful portal for psychic information. Keep a notebook or a recording device by your bed. If you’re a geek there’s a great sleep app called ‘Sleep Talk’ that I use. It was designed to capture sleep talk but it’s perfect to capture your dreams as it is voice activated so if you wake from sleep, you can just talk out loud and record all the minute details before your rational mind steps in. No matter how obscure, write down every single thing you can remember and do it straight away before the details fade. I have had so many amazing dream premonitions and it can be great fun.
I once dreamt I had met an old friend I had not seen for years and she came to my house for coffee. This inspired me to write her a letter and to go to a local bookshop to find her new work address (pre google!). I entered the shop and nearly fell over as she was standing right there. I pulled the letter out of my pocket and handed it to her and she came round for coffee!
5/ Turn on your psychic Sat Nav – Allow yourself to be guided by your inner voice. The more you listen and tune into your inner voice, the clearer the messages will be. Your psychic self is alive and well and waiting for you. Look out for coincidences, synchronicity and unusual situations. Did your intuition lead you here?
At the end of the week, collate all the information and take time to go through it. Start by reviewing the notes of all five steps and see how much happened that doesn’t have a rational explanation. I hazard a guess that you experienced at least one, if not several psychic revelations. Psychic ability is like a muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets, so keep up the good work and next time I’ll write about all the other fabulous things you can create when you listen to your own psychic wisdom.
