Psychic Problem Page – Am I really destined to be a healer?
Approximately 30 years ago I was told that one day I will be a healer. I almost forgot about it but then, 10 years later, I was reminded again. And then again – just a few years ago! I still can’t understand why these other healers/clairvoyants (whom I see occasionally) keep saying it to me? I feel very “normal”, if I may say so. My only abilities are sensing people – their moods, their hidden emotions etc. I tend to look into peoples’ eyes to gather information or to find the truth. If I really concentrate or if I am tired, I can see auras. But nothing dazzling! I am fifty now but still have not found the answer. I know quite a lot about spiritual life, have been with several spiritual teachers, have read lots of books. Do I really have some higher purpose in this life?
Jan-Lee says: Thanks for your question. I agree with the healers/clairvoyants who have told you about your healing abilities. I would say that you’ve probably been using them whether you are aware of it or not. Sometimes healing ability is used when we listen to others in a sympathetic or empathic way and healing is channelled via your listening and serving in that way. I’m aware that I channel healing during the readings I give for example. If you wish to develop your healing abilities you see if there is a healing modality/course you are drawn to and studying it in more detail by going to a workshop.
I am a natural born psychic/healer and did not realise for many years until I joined a spiritual development group and my gifts flowered. A pianist can be born with a gift for music and the ability to play more than chopsticks but it won’t develop unless he/she takes lessons to develop and nurture their gift. It is the same with healers/psychics.
Finally, it doesn’t matter how old you are when you begin your spiritual path – I have taught people in their sixties to meditate and develop their gifts. If you feel in your heart that it’s the right time, then it is, and I wish you many joyful experiences on your healing path.
Love, Light and Blessings

How to create Psychic Happiness
In the quantum field, all time is now, and you can psychically project yourself anywhere you want to to go. Confusing as that sounds there is a scientific theory that all time exists now but we can only experience focusing on one point. This might even explain how psychics work by linking into all that there is! How can you use this possible theory to transform your life and bring you into your power?
One of the best ways to give yourself a quick quantum boost to your vibration is to use your psychic skills to layer up positive feelings from past experiences and project them into the future that you want to create.
So if you want to raise your vibration in the moment, here’s how to do it.
Find somewhere quiet and comfortable, sit down and close your eyes.
Imagine your life as a long road – with the past stretching out one way and the future heading off in another. Where you are standing right now on that road is the present.
Set your psychic intention by asking your mind to draw your attention to all of those times in the past when you felt great – happy, excited, joyful – all those moments when you felt totally on top of the world and that you could do absolutely anything.
Get a sense of where those times are along your life’s road. They might shine out like twinkling stars or just stand out in some other way.
Project yourself back through all of them, soaking up the fabulous feelings and noticing how they change your mood as you go.
When you know you feel great, come back to the present and turn your psychic attention to the future.
Set your intention for a specific point – maybe an upcoming event where you want to be at your very best, or just at a period away from the present which covers a general time span during which you’d like to make some positive changes in your life.
Start to move forward to that point, trusting that deep at a cellular level you are processing all the information you’ll need to take you from the present to the future you want to create.
When you get to that point, rest awhile and look back to see how far you’ve come and to also notice anything interesting that you might want to take conscious note of to bring back to the present.
Return to the present and ground yourself firmly by getting up and moving around, holding on to all of those good feelings that you’ve gathered along your way.
When you first do this particular process, you might enjoy taking a long time to do it, especially when it comes to reliving past happy moments and experiencing the exciting future that you want to create for yourself. But as you get better at it, you can choose to do it fast or slow – this is something that you can train yourself to do in a couple of minutes and it’s the kind of thing that you can do anywhere, without any huge ritual around it. After all, we’re always drifting into the past and the future in our daily imagination, so you might as well use it to your quantum advantage!
Do you have psychic skills?
It might seem as though people who give professional psychic readings are different, especially when they can pick up on things with amazing accuracy that they could only know through using psychic skills, but are they really so different from people who don’t think of themselves as being psychic?
Have you ever wondered whether you are psychic?
Most people will have experiences in their lives that can make them ask the question, am I psychic? Perhaps you’ve visited a place for the first time, yet somehow knew all the streets and houses like the back of your hand. Maybe you’ve had the experience of thinking of someone you haven’t spoken to for ages and then had them suddenly call you out of the blue. Or perhaps you’ve just had a sense of ‘knowing’ something is about to happen before it did.
Psychic intuition
We can all have flashes of psychic intuition, but we can push these moments aside and think that they are just coincidence. Often, later down the line, we can end up thinking that we really should have listened to our psychic intuition! That kind of thing happens to everyone.
The difference between a psychic reader and someone who doesn’t think they have psychic ability
The only real difference between a psychic reader and someone who doesn’t think that they have psychic ability is that a psychic reader won’t ignore those flashes of psychic intuition. They will usually start studying and developing their skills so that they can know the difference between genuine psychic ability and their imagination and can then call on their psychic abilities when they need to.
Tools for developing psychic ability
Using tools such as Tarot or runes is a great way to develop psychic abilities. Many of today’s top name mediums started out at their local spiritualist church, where they spent years developing their psychic abilities and giving readings for free before turning professional.
Turning on psychic ability
One of the most important aspects of developing psychic ability is being able to call on it when you are giving a psychic reading. Having flashes of intuition can make life very interesting, but when people want a paid psychic reading from a clairvoyant or a medium, they want them to be able to turn on their psychic abilities. The psychic or medium needs to be able to call on their psychic skills in a way that is consistent and reliable. When you’re on, you need to be on!
Shutting down
It’s also important for the psychic reader to be able to turn them off again when they are ‘off duty’. Even world famous mediums and psychics are human and need to lead everyday lives. When you’re having a hair cut or queuing in the supermarket to buy dogfood, it can be a very disturbing experience to start tuning in to everyone around you and picking up things from their private lives!
So if you think you might be psychic…
You probably are! Start trusting your flashes of psychic intuition, and consider doing something to develop your psychic skills, such as studying the Tarot or runes or joining a development circle at a spiritualist church near you. You never know where it might take you!
Six Simple Steps to Understanding Dreams
A quick guide to easily understand your dreams.
Record it
Keep a notebook or a recording device by your bedside and record your dreams the moment you wake up. Do not delay because dreams are so wispy; the moment we engage in activity, dreams begin to blow right out of our memories. Record your dreams in small bits – it doesn’t have to be overwhelming detail. Odds are, if you record just the meaty bits of the dream, your memory can recall the rest. Record what seemed most important to you. Interestingly, studies have shown the process of recording our dreams actually helps us find meaning to them. The analytical mind becomes engaged with the creative mind, and this marriage creates new understandings.
Summarize it
After you’ve recorded your dream, take a few moments to jot down single words that best describe the overall feel of the dream. You can do this upon waking, or as you go through the day. After you’ve safely recorded your dream, your perceptions of it may morph as you go about your day. Keep track (in a notebook or via recording device) of the single words you’d pick to describe the pervasive feel of the dream. For example, if you were being chased in a dream, you might choose “panic” as one word to describe the whole feeling of the dream.
Compare it
By now you are starting to crystallize the feeling of the dream. By recording the dream and then putting single-word identifications on the feeling of the dream you are fleshing out the dream and it is taking on a substantial meanings. Now you can begin to compare the feelings and events in your dreams with those you experience in waking life. For example, if you were chased in your dream, think of instances in your waking, every-day life that make you feel the same way you felt as you did whilst being chased in your dream. By comparing dream feelings with “real-life” waking feels we begin the gap between two worlds – the conscious and subconscious worlds. And when we do this, dream meanings inevitably follow.
Revisit and Observe it
Revisit your dream and observe the people, places, activities and events in your dream. Pay special attention to the people and animals in your dreams. What are they doing? What do they look like? What colors are dominant in the dream? What kind of activities are taking place? What is the season in the dream? Just play around in a free-associative way with the various elements in your dream. You can write down these thoughts, or merely ruminate in a “daydream” sort of way. Doing this will cause profound meanings to surface in your conscious mind.
Self-project it
After you have taken stock of the different people and/or animals in your dream, imagine these people are you. For example, if the main player in your dream is a yellow dog, imagine this dog is you. What does that mean to you? What was the dog doing that you also do? I’m taking this straight from the dream master, Dr. Carl Jung, he proposed everything in our dream is actually a projection of the Self. That means a mother in your dreams is actually the mothering aspect of you. The yellow dog in your dreams is the loyal aspect of yourself. That is, if you subscribe to dogs being man/woman’s best friend. If you have a phobia about dogs, the dream is speaking to a fearful or attacking aspect of yourself.
Putting it all together
If you’ve diligently followed steps 1-5, you now have a great overall outline of your dream. Now you will put all of your recordings, impressions, single-word associations, observations and self-projections together. Invest in quiet time alone as you ponder all your dream interpretations. Ask your spirit guides to help you with interpreting dream meanings too – they often communicate through dreams and are happy to help with interpretations.
I hope you have enjoyed these simple suggested tips to understanding dreams.
