ON June 21, 1934 the center-spread of the Graphic carried the mugshots of newly elected members of Congress. What is odd are the advertisements that shared the page: two for pomade (PALS and IDEAL), and one for Esco Shoe Store with a very seductive foreign woman!
There are some familiar names: Manuel Roxas, Quintin Paredes, and Isauro Gabaldon. Some were not too familiar like Narciso Ramos, who resembled his son Fidel V. Ramos/ Then there was a real blast from the past: Julio Nalundasan, ...

Modern memorial parks are so generic and dull compared to the Manila North Cemetery where you will find amazing mausoleums like the white pyramid of the Tuason-Legarda-Valdez-Prieto families guarded by a pair of Sphinxes.
Sphinxes asked the famous riddle: what creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening? Do you know the answer? If you don't, youre dead!
