Until yesterday I have only seen the OTON GOLD FACE MASK in photos. Not on display in the National Museum Manila, this National Cultural Treasure was returned"home" and is now in the National Museum Iloilo. I was thrilled to see it.
Most excavated pre-Spanish gold has been found in Butuan and Surigao, making this Iloilo example rare. It is exceptional because it is the most ornate and comes as a complete set: EYE COVER length 13.3 cm, width 2....
