Things Have Been Busy
I’ve been busy finishing the audio “proofing” of Deadly Secrets, and then updating the original files, fixing the inevitable missed typos. However, based on reader feedback, I also decided to cut back what I had considered a very mild “sex” scene. Given that I also write romantic suspense, I didn’t think a little foreplay was going too far. Unlike romantic suspense, a mystery series can develop a relationship over the span of several books, and I’d decided that Gordon and Angie were about to...

What’s Cooking Wednesday – Parmesan Chicken and Roasted Romaine
My son posted this on his Facebook page, and it looked good. I modified the original Bon Appetit recipe a bit.

In the Interview Room – Claire Gem
Today I welcome Claire Gem to Terry’s Place. Claire writes intensely emotional contemporary romance, sometimes with paranormal elements.
What’s your biggest distraction when you should be writing?
Believe it or not, marketing. Yes, I am one of those rare authors who absolutely LOVES to market my books and my brand. I guess I didn’t come by it strange—my father was a door-to-door salesman. Even though I lost him in 2001, his entrepreneurial spirit continues to whisper in my ear…even when I sho...

Wishing all a Safe and Happy Labor Day. Here on the mountain, we’ve had a great time with our visiting grandson.
In Dire Straits is with my editor, and the wonderful Kim Killion of The Killion Group has designed a great cover. To celebrate the upcoming release, I’ve got some specials running. Don’t wait to take advantage of these low prices. They won’t last.

What’s Cooking Wednesday – Crock Pot Lamb Shoulder Roast
While at our local Farmer’s Market, I picked up a lamb shoulder roast from a local vendor. I found a more complicated version of this recipe on the web, but for me, using a slow cooker means dumping everything in, so that’s what I did. The original recipe called for browning the lamb and onions, and mincing the garlic. Leaving the cloves whole gives a milder flavor, so don’t be afraid to use plenty. Lamb and garlic are good friends.

In the Interview Room – Kathryn Jane
Today I welcome Kathryn Jane to Terry’s Place. Katt is the author of the romantic suspense series, Intrepid Women.
What’s your biggest distraction when you should be writing?
Facebook! I get caught up in the feel good and funny stuff like inspirational memes and kittens! (I’m a sucker for warm fuzzy feelings, and laughter.)
Plotter or Pantser?
100% pantser. I once tried plotting and nearly had to throw an entire book away because I was so bored. I have to write the same way I read, discoverin...

This session was presented by Denene Lofland, who, in true WPA fashion, provided us with sneaky ways to kill people. Her workshop was called Mashed Potatoes of Death, and it dealt with ways to poison people.
She started off by t...
