Stop Resisting Your Abundance

So often I have been guilty of wanting to direct so many things in my life, I guess we have all been there. Lately, however, I have come to learn to flow with the spirit of #allowing.
My prayer this evening is that you let go and let be. Let go of any circumstances or situations, things or people that you have been chasing and watch the path of lease resistance work for you.
Make your declaration
“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.”- Maya Angelou.
You have a duty to yourself and those that you want to influence to make a personal declaration. You can’t move forward until you get out of the place that you are stuck in and to do that you need to know that just like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, you have everything that you need to get home.
Your tools are your humanity, your light is knowledge and your yellow brick road is the belief that you can do what you set out to accomplish.

We are made for change
We Are Made for Change
People say ‘change is hard’, but that’s not necessarily true. As humans, we are made for change.
Think about it – nothing that has been accomplished in moving forward has happened without change. What is hard is accepting that change can create confusion. We don’t like confusion. It disrupts our sense of order. It asks those difficult questions that a lot would simply not like to hear. But part of the fact of ‘change’ is that it usually occurs during times that involve either ‘need or desperation’; and if you drill down, you will find that it’s a combination of both.
We can look back on the many women that created change. From the suffragettes to Madame Curie and Oprah Winfrey, and yes, even Madonna; our paths are so filled with women that made the decision to move beyond the expected and force the rest of the world to join them, that we can’t help but feel their influence every day.
Part of our existence depends on change, the other part relies on vision. And ‘vision’ takes us to the realms of ‘what if’.
This is where you are right now. You are tapping into your experiences, touching the pain points of life and you are committed to making change. I call this part of your journey, “Leaping Into Significance”. It’s your time to ask those crucial questions about yourself: How will you make your mark on the world? What will your legacy be?
Everyone here is having that very intimate conversation with ‘self’. You are working through your fears, beginning to get the tools to master your leap of faith and pinning down your true purpose. Hearing it is the easy part, but truly listening to it can accelerate your personal quantum leap, and this can be your greatest ally in influencing others.
I have a lot of things to prove to myself. One is that I can live my life fearlessly. -Oprah Winfrey

**Balance/ Harmony***
**Balance/ Harmony***
As a busy mompreneur who is juggling several business hats, I am always striving to get HARMONY in my life. We all are told to get the balance but I have come to realise that #Balance is a myth and #Harmony is what we truly seek. (Lisa Nichols)
All of us struggle at one time or another, with the juggling act of looking after children, working, wives, daughters, friends- being carers etc – there are so many balls that women of today keep in the air constantly. It’s never an easy game trust me I know it too well.
Below are 5 tips that work for me, I would love to hear what works for you.
1. – Get organised TODAY not tomorrow- write a list of my MUST do the next day.
2.Don’t worry if you drop the ball. I try to do the 20/80 rule-20 % of the task that yields me 80% results.
3. Power hours- if you work from home—I have a 2 hours slot when nothing comes in, I am focussed on that task, so no FB, etc. , No calls and in the zone.
4. Split your day up, this breaks the monotony …..
5. Wake up before the children – if you have kids.
Remember balance is a myth, harmony is a must.
How Personal Development Contributes To Success In Business
[image error]
If you wish to succeed in the world of business, then it is vital that you work on improving yourself as a person i.e. personal development. On this page, we are going to discuss how personal development is a contributor to your success, and why you should really focus on it.
Personal development is all about boosting your potential. It is about honing your talents. This results in you increasing your employability or at least increasing your chances of being successful when it comes to running your own business.
Education
Look at the top people in just about any company. These people are highly-educated. You would be hard-pressed to find somebody who is not. It may not be an education at the top universities in the world, they may not even own a degree, but they will, at the very least, have a lot of knowledge about the industry that they operate in.
If you do not understand the industry that you operate in, and all its nuances, then you will struggle to move up the career ladder. If you want to get paid the most, you need to demonstrate that you are worth them most.
It is, therefore, important that you focus on your education. Learn as much as you can. The more effort you put into your education and, thus, your personal development, the more likely you are to succeed. Education means that you will be able to make better decisions. It will allow you to come up with new and creative ways to tackle a problem.
Therefore, it is recommended that you start a business that you are passionate about. If you do not have the passion for the industry, it is going to be very difficult to motivate yourself to learn more about what you do. This means that you are going to struggle to get where you need to be.
Skill
Not much to say about this one as it ties very lightly into education. The better you get at what you do, the more likely you are to succeed. If your business is very much ‘skill-based’, then work on developing those skills. This should be a key focus when it comes to your personal development. Every opportunity you have, you should be working to ensure that you are more skilled at what you do.
Skills translate to more money. Remember; people are willing to pay for people who they know can do the job well.
Focus On Your Weaknesses
A key part of personal development is focusing on where your weaknesses are. Many people forget about this. They rely on their strengths to succeed in business. They forget about their weaknesses, and it is those weaknesses which are really going to be holding them back.
Let’s say you are weak in social situations. Maybe you are not the type of person who is willing to put ideas forward, or you are unable to communicate in a clear and succinct manner. There are two ways in which this can let you down:
– You will be unable to give sales pitches for your business. When you are unable to give effective sales pitches, you are going to find it exceedingly difficult to pick up new contracts for your company. This means that you are going to be putting less money in your pocket.
– You are going to be unable to forge contacts. In the world of business, and it does not matter what niche you are operating in, contacts are important. You need to be willing to go up to people at industry events and just speak to them. Tell them about your business. Give them a business card. If you can’t do this, then your business will remain small. There will never be any growth. The biggest businesses in the world are those that have relied on forging as many contacts as possible.
Sure, it is not going to be easy to improve your public speaking skills, but it is important. This is not the only weakness that you may have. For example; there are some people out there with poor leadership skills. If you have poor leadership skills, you are going to find it tough to motivate any staff that work under you. If you are finding it tough to motivate them, then they will find it very difficult to work to the best of their ability. In the long run, this is going to cost you a whole lot of cash. The best business environments in the world are those where the staff feel like they are valued. Look at any of the top companies out there. Most of them have a pleasant staff environment as they want to get the most out of their employees.
Time Management
This is a skill that you really need to be focusing on when it comes to personal development. It will have a huge impact on the success of your business, or if you do not run a business, success in your chosen career. Time management ensures that you can get things done properly. It ensures that you are going to be able to provide people with accurate time limits on when jobs will get done. If you are delegating tasks, then you need to know that they are going to be completed on time.
By working on developing your time management, you will be ensuring that you are able to pack a lot more work into a shorter span of time. In addition to this, it is less-likely that you will end up with disappointed clients. This, once again, is going to translate to a whole lot more money in your pocket.
Creativity
Finally, let’s talk about creativity. Many people you are born with creativity, and that is true to some extent. However, in some people there may be untapped potential which needs to be tapped into. Engage in creative exercises. Unlock that potential. Creative people go a lot further in business as they are able to bring ideas to the table that nobody else would have thought of.
How are you going to work on your personal development? Start now, and you will be in a good position for the rest of your life!

Transformation Possibilities: Phoenix Rising From the Ashes
Everyone has a story, and for most it involves the trials of life that many share and relate to.
But for some, the tale can begin in realms that few can understand as they are so dark that one might assume they are devastating. But the life of Dr. Ava Eagle Brown demonstrates that your history does not define you but instead, empowers you, and all have the ability to lift themselves above through determination and love.
To understand Ava, you must comprehend the travesty of her childhood. Born into one of the most extreme poverty stricken areas of Jamaica, she struggled to attend school while trying to balance working to put food on the table. For her, there was no true ‘childhood’, but instead a never ending cycle of survival. Her missed school took its toll as she failed in Math and English, and yet still, inside, there was something that drove her so that she knew that she was meant for something greater.
A final turning point for Ava occurred in adolescence when she was assaulted with both incest and sexual abuse. These devastating conditions were compounded in her young adulthood when she was held at gunpoint. This was the moment that Ava took a stand that changed her life forever. Her escape not only validated her personal belief in self, but saved her mental state. Now was the time to make a choice and Ava chose resilience as her driving force.
“Sometimes life will throw you down. However, you must find the willpower to pull yourself up above your circumstances.”
The intensity of her commitment to her inner voice led Ava to pursue her education. She knew that this single path would lead her in the directions that she was being led, and there was a fire burning inside that required that she answer her inner call. Her first MBA was from Newport University, California and then another MBA at the University of Wales. As she learned, she grew and expanded awareness and she added a Bachelor in Business Administration and a Diploma in Secondary Education from the University of the West Indies Mona, Jamaica.
Her life carried twists and turns, continuing her education while being a single mother is a difficult journey, but one that she embraced with a fervor like no other. For Ava, there was a method to the madness and she forged on with a single goal. Ava has authored several books including her own autobiography “Bamboo & Fern”, she was a contributing writer for a Caribbean magazine, she has her own column entitled ‘Avas Courtyard’, is an author for the education magazine, “Be Magazine” that was published in West Africa and for “The Children Hope Newspaper” on important topics such as “Hope for this Generation” and “Location and Education”. But this is just the beginning for Ava, she has also been featured in “The Financial Times”, “The Guardian”, “The Voice Newspaper” and “The Jamaican Gleaner”.
Ava has found her calling and in the discovery she has lifted herself from the ashes and is in pursuit of constant sharing to assist others in their own transformation possibilities. She is the co-author of “Born For This: The Journey To Success in Life, Love and Business” which is a tribute to all of those who have tried and failed as well as those who embraced something new and felt both the fear of failure and the exhilaration of success. Her foundation for this book is in the belief that failure is natural and normal and is designed as part of our life experiences. Failure gives us the ability to have a series of refining moments and is only an indicator that we are ‘not there yet’.
“You are an eagle, it depends on how high you soar”
One has to wonder how a poor girl from Jamaica, with statistics lined up against her, could not only reach out but achieve so much. For Ava, it is all about the belief in transformation possibilities. The achievements and accomplishments catapulted her into a realm of realisation that her purpose was to be transformational for others. In this she has become a mentor, coach, and motivational speaker.
Ava’s message to everyone has been one to encourage others in the pursuit of reaching their full potential so that they can tap into their greatness. She counsels others to use their own determination to break down barriers, regardless of background, culture or their past. There is a singular and powerful content to her rhetoric that inspires her clients to tackle their challenges and achieve their own success. To refer to Ava as a Trainer/Speaker/Author dwells on only the very beginning of her talents, hopes and aspirations.
Giving Back Is Critical
Part of Ava’s life mantras is in the belief that giving back is not only part of our requirements but a responsibility that each of us holds within our hearts. Dr. Brown has become the official Ambassador For Evolve Housing + Support, a leading homeless charity in London that provides support housing for the homeless, working with 1,500 people every year. The humanitarian work that Dr. Brown contributes to extends her philosophy of transformation and possibilities to those that might never recognize their inner strength.
Dr. Brown continues to soar, as she is currently working on a script for a potential movie for one of her books. She is the sponsor of the brilliant even “PurposeWalk”, a conference and networking opportunity for everyone that wants to be inspired to success. There is a continued effort of positive energy that flows from Dr. Brown and she exemplifies the purest image of the possibilities that each of us have.

BE YOUR OWN RESCUE
#MYHEARTODAY #Standinginmytruth: it’s hard when you grind constantly, miss sleep, sacrifice, fail when no one sees, cry in silence, a single mother with no partner to hear your cries, rub your feet and tell you it will be ok, pick you up after each failure and setback- some in public and some silence -deal with the people who are dragging you down in your field daily and the list goes on . It’s hard to then deal with people who have no concept of what you have gone through, is going under, scaled and then to expect you to be their rescue.
