Calling all Indie authors!

www.kendallbailey.net wants to promote you and your work. But here's the thing, we don't have the time to find every indie author out there! There are just too many of us!

Shoot us an e-mail at kendallbaileymedia@gmail.com if you'd like to be included on our Indie All-Stars page. Please include your name, an author photo (optional), your bio, and a list of your work. If you want your book titles linked to an online retailer, please include the links and we'll do that too.

Thanks and happy writi...

Review - The Red Lady's Wedding

A Review of The Red Lady's Wedding by Deina Furth  It has been awhile since I've written a review. I've touched on it before, how I am not a big fan of doing reviews myself because they turn into love letters to the author. (I like stories. What can I say?) But I've spent so much time thinking about dollars and cents, laws and taxes, sales and distribution-- what with forming Kendall Bailey Media, publishing my 2nd novel, and publishing another author's collection of poems-- that I ne...

Publish In Digital AND Paperback

This will be a quick one.

I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed a few minutes ago and saw a post by my friend Brittany Adelle that caught my attention. She had said she was making a book run to another town and for anyone who wanted to buy one to let her know so they could meet up.

Why don't I see more indie authors doing this? This is exactly how I sold most of my copies of The Bad. It seems many indie authors focus on producing an eBook and the paperback comes later. Here is why I dis...

With experience comes wisdom. That's how life works. Here is what I learned in the last month and a half... in which time I doubled my views!

Views are immaterial
Views are immaterial. Views = someone who clicked on a link. Nothing more. Twice a week or so I pepper Twitter with links to various posts. People come to the site, but I believe they are not sticking around for long. I can back that up by telling you I have 10,000 views and only 4 subscribers.

What's the answer?
Easy peasy! I...

The Hybrid Author

This is a post I wrote for Venture Prose, but I think it belongs on this blog as well.

You can't be everything
... Or can you? There is a tendency among authors (and publishing professionals) to specialize in a single field or genre. Publishers and agents want authors who specialize in a single genre (maybe two, if they're very successful in both) because it is easier to sell their books that way. I will never be against knowing what you're doing (which comes with specialization), but what a cr...

4 Books I'd Love to Write (And Could Probably Sell)

I think many writers have that one book they would love to write but something prevents it. Sometimes it's their own scheduled getting in the way, or maybe permissions they do not have-- whatever the reason, forces keep the idea from coming to fruition.

I am one of these writers. Here's my list:

1. Venture Prose
This one will happen. There will be a Venture Prose book. It will have the same focus as the website, helping self publishing authors think like entrepreneurs.

2. The Tao of Harvey
