Big Girl Panties

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #18 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #30

Thinking I write about men falling in love talking about girls panties sounds a bit out of place– unless there are manties. But in this case, I’m talking about mine’s. With only three weeks to the end of this round and the New Year getting closer and closer, it’s time for me to start adjusting my goals for the rest of 2016.

For starters, I need to finish and submit my two BDSM short stories. The deadline is getting closer, and I...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* SEPTEMBER 3-4, 2016 *~*

It’s a new month, but I’m still working on the same story. It took me a while and a week with a cold to find the right voice for one of my main characters. Now that I figured out his personality, I’m having an easier time writing his story. One thing, though, he still sounds a lot younger than I want him to be. Oh, and I have changed his name three times.

I should be reaching the halfway point in this story today, and hopefully, have it ready for my editor by the end of the holiday weekend.

J...

August ’16 Recap

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #17

August has been the most unproductive month of the year. Yes, I did edits for two stories currently in production and cover book specs for others, but not many new words. I’m still battling with two short stories and a cold.

Hopefully, September would be better even when I don’t see new words in the horizon. At least, some stories should be getting into preproduction.

Month in Numbers:

4 MM and 1 FF books read, reviewed, & posted/scheduled 14 blog post writte...

One Chapter One Too Many

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #16 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #29

I write linearly. I had tried to work out of order, but it had never worked for me. I like to know exactly what happens from point A to point B. For the last week and a half, I had been trying to work on my BDSM short story. By now, I have about three chapters 1, two chapters 2, and one and a half chapters 3.

The main problem I have is the main characters itself. I have a pretty good idea of who they are and what they want for t...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* AUGUST 27-28, 2016 *~*

Well, I didn’t finish the story as I planned. And last night, I decided to scrap what I had and start over. Today’s snippetis from the original story, and I might use it, but, hey, will see.

The prompter requested a light & fluffy BDSM story between thirtysomething years old andmy characters were sounding like teenagers with a crush. When I start the re-write, I’m going to let them be free and if one wants to call the other Daddy, who I am to interfere. I’m going for short, smutty, and… and…

Updates and Difficulties

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #15

Keeping on with my updates has been a challenge. I don’t want to bore you with more of the same posts, but in reality, I’m just in different stages of production with my stories. I have three books with two publishers, and we are doing everything from setting up my author profile at their websites to edits and proofreads. As well as cover specifications forms and series planning.

This morning I had a chance tofinished chapter one on my new stories. And tonight...

Editing Cycles and Routines

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #14 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #28

The last couple of days had been busy. On Thursday, I received the last set of edits for Raffled Kiss, and I already sent them back. It was the proofreading round, and it was nice to move another step closer to publication. I’m still waiting for a release date, but I guess late August or early September. Since the story is part of an anthology, there are many other variants involve.

Also on Thursday, I received the first set of...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* AUGUST 20-21, 2016 *~*

The kids go back to school on Monday, and I’m planning to give this storythe time of the day, and finish it. My goal is to send it to my editor before the next #RainbowSnippets weekend.

Today’s interaction is between Stewart and his older sister, Adrienne. She’s married to Marshall, Madison’s younger brother. That explanation sounded like an episode of Jerry Springer… lol

“If I didn’t know you were over your crush on Marshall, I’d have thought you were standing here, lusting after my husband....

Reader Interactions

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #13

Today I decided to join Instagram. Not like I needed another reason to procrastinate, but because I like to interact with my readers. The MM Romance community is a small niche in which most authors started as readers; me included. And it’s easy to interact with your favorite authors in a daily based.

My first stories were part of writing events in which I had the opportunity to write to a prompt. Those were placed on a thread, and the writer had the chance to...

Procrastination

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #12 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #27

I’m adjusting the day, so it shows as Monday, but I’m writing this post on Monday night. Yes, I had a couple of busy days with family visiting from out-of-state and getting ready for the kids back to school, but those aren’t the only reason.

I’m the Queen of Procrastination, and it gets worse from time to time. Small tasks, like this post, get pushed back, and my WIPs stayed closed. It takes me a couple of days to come back to r...
