#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* JULY 23-24, 2016 *~*

As promised, today’s snippet brings Ford and Daniel together. This is going to be the last one from Raffled Kiss, but the complete short story is going to be part of the Dreamspinner’s Love Wins anthology to benefit the families and victims of the Orlando shooting. Until then, enjoy!

“Ready to get smothered to death by the parental units?” Ford asked, getting ahold of Daniel’s hand. “The faster you say your hellos and goodbyes, the sooner we can get a detour home for you to change before meet...

Not Much of a Change

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #5 Since Sunday, I have added some more words to my short story and fully edited the first two chapters. I still have five more to write and edit, but I’m confident that I could be done by the end of the month. I tend to slow down in the middle of the story, making sure the beginningis strong enough to entice my readers and carry the rest of the plot. I have worked on some reviews and beta stories, too, but overall, it has been a quiet couple of days. I’m lookin...

Monday Flash Fics – Beach Party – 7/18/2016

Beach Party

Beach Party

“OMG. Looks like Barbie’s beach house threw up in here.”

“Did you expect anything less from Silvia? You gave your card to an eighteen-year-old.”

“Yeah, to plan our parents’ anniversary party, not get us into Gilligan’s.”

“Come on, babe, relax,” Danielle said.

We entered the crates and paddles gate and followed the labyrinth of white chairs and tiki torches to the straw covered bar.

“Is your dad smiling?”

“Yes.”

“Hey, guys,” mom said before hugging us. “Carmen, Silvia and you are...

Another Great Week

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #4 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #23

On Thursday, I signed the contract for the submission I mentioned on my last update. My short story, Raffled Kiss, is going to be part of the Dreamspinner Press Love Wins anthology, to benefit the victims and families of the Orlando Shooting.I submitted another short story for a holiday anthology, but all the stories are under consideration until Agust 1st.

This week is back to writing. I want to be done with my current WIP by th...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* JULY 16-17, 2016 *~*

Last week we met Daniel and his best friend, MR2 Donahue. This week is time to meet Ford and his mother-in-law, Cindy. They’re waiting for Daniel to return from deployment. Perhaps next week, we will finally get Ford and Daniel together.

“Because he’s your husband,” she replied as if talking with a five-year-old. “He will peck me on the cheek and run after you anyway. That kiss is meant to be epic, no matter what.”

She hugged him hard and moved back to her husband’s arms. He placed his hands...

One Down, Many More to Go

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #3

Today, I hit submit on another short story. This one for an anthologyto benefit the victims and families impacted by the Orlando Shooting. It’s a feel good, love wins kind of story; with a sweet young couple and a first kiss. I’ll let you know more whenas we go.

The rest of the day, I have been catching up on book reviews and beta reads. And later on, I’m planning to go overwhat I already have for my next short story. This one a holiday travel short of about 12...

Monday Flash Fics – Mugs – 7/11/2016

Military Cuppa

Mugs

“Here he comes,” Amber murmured as we man the registers.

Sergeant Hernández entered the coffee shop precisely at zero-six-hundred and stood in line, arms behind his back, attention completely on me. A shiver ran through me, and Amber snickered. We had been playing this cat and mouse game for a while, but today I was ready to pounce.

“What can I do for you today, Sergeant,” I asked.

“Same as always, Donovan.”

“Not a problem. Go ahead and sit on the patio, I’ll take it to you when it’s re...

First Week Accomplishements

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #2 |10 Minute Novelist: Update #22 I’m posting this update later than normal because I have been working on my short story since this morning. I confess I have been distracted, but I kept writing bits and pieces. I finished writing the first two chapters out of four and edited them as well. And before you ask… yes, I edit as I go. I don’t have the patience to get a draft completed and then tackle edits. I should be done tomorrow, or at the latest Tuesday. That w...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* JULY 9-10, 2016 *~*

Today’s snippetcomes from the opening scene in my current #WIP, which is a sequel of sorts to my free read, . In this new short story, we will meet Daniel and Ford almost three years later.

I haven’t re-introduced Ford yet. This exchange is between Daniel and his shipmate, MR2 Donahue. Enjoy!

He shook his head in disbelief and continued working on the engraving. Donahue might be a man, but Daniel had standards too.

“Come on. I’m ready to get lei’d. Get it? Lei’d, like laid.”...

Ready? Let’s Get Organized…

2016 #ROW80 Round 3:Check-In #1

Since I had to go out of town unexpectedlylast week, today is going to be an organization day. I have some pending reviews I have to work on, plus, I need to write down some ideas I got during my trip. Then, I plan to do the soft outline for my new story before starting to write it on Thursday. It’s going to be my first day of CampNaNoWriMo too, so I have some catch-up to do. But, I’m really excited about the next couple of short storieson deck.

And don’t let m...
