#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* MAY 28-29, 2016 *~*

With the ending of the month, I’mbringing the snippets from Eric’s and Wick’s story to an end as well. Today, we have another introduction to Eric’s family. See you, all, next weekend for a new month and a different WIP.

“Aren’t you going to introduce us?”

“Yeah,” Eric responded as he disengaged from his twinbrother.

They were exact replicas, even the soft tan of their skins was a precise match. Only their clothing set them apart. Eric had complemented his jeans with a sweater two sizes small...

No News are Good News

2016 #ROW80 Round 2:Check-In #15

So far, so good.

Not much had happened since Sunday’s update. I received two beta critiques back, and they were completely opposite from each other. They both have good points about my story and the characters, which I appreciate. It would make everything next month easier.

With only one week left in May, I’m trying to catch up on all my book reviews. I hadn’t requested any new ARCs. I want to keep my summer open since school is about to be out for the summer....

Last Day to Win!

TransRaindropToday is the last day of the 2016 Hop for Visibility, Awareness, and Equality. Please visit my original post for a chance to win.

The more we bring awareness and visibility to equality issues, the more we can do to stop violence, abuse, and senseless killings againstmembers of the LGBTQ+ community.

Back in 2013, Dwayne Jones’s story made the news. I wrote her name in my writing journal, and it had stayed with me since then. Someday soon, I’d write her the happy ending she was denied. I just h...

Monday Flash Fics – Into the Light – 5/23/2016

Hug

Into the Light

As soon as I emerged, I looked around for Jess. He smiled, and I rushed toward him.

“You did it!” Jess said.

“Because of you.”

“No. It was your decision to accept God into your heart.”

I closed my eyes and leaned against his chest. “Sorry, sorry. I’m getting you all wet.”

“That’s okay,” Jess said, wrapping his arms around my shoulders.

I cried as the baptism continued behind us. My new community accepted me and now, they continued to hold candles to guide us into the light. I...

Killing My Darlings

2016 #ROW80 Round 2:Check-In #14 | 10 Minute Novelist: Update18

Every three months or so, I look at the list of projects I have for the year. I like to have a clear idea of what’s to come and separating my projects by trimesters works well for me. As I work with my book expansion, I realized that some books I had as part of the series might work better as stand-alone or perhaps a separate series. Therefore, I had to take the decision to kill my darlings.

Now, instead of five books, I’m only wr...

#RAINBOWSNIPPETS *~* MAY 21-22, 2016 *~*

Since I’m still on my writing downtime, I’m going to continue with the snippets from Eric’s and Wick’s story. The more time they get in the spotlight, the more they want to tell me about their story. Therefore, a win-win situation. The first woman talking is Eric’s grandmother Maricarmen “Tata”. Enjoy!

“Cuidamelo mucho, gringo. Eric merece que lo hagas feliz.”

“Okay?” Wick responded cluelessly.

“Ericsito, Tradúcele.”

“Hmm, she wants you to take care,” Eric said.

“Tata wants you to take care of...

Deconstructing a Story

2016 #ROW80 Round 2:Check-In 11

When I wrote Graphic Exposure, I didn’t have the time to add everything I wanted. So, I wrote notes about all the things that needed to be added to make the story what I first envisioned.

Now, I’m trying to figure out where those notes fit best. I thought about leaving the story as is since it had a good reception, but I think my characters deserve more. The first two books in what’s now the Exhibits series are intrinsicallyintertwined, and I want to add the sa...

Monday Flash Fics – Lil Sis’ Grades – 5/16/2016

Ballet

Lil Sis’Grades

“Remind me why I’m doing this again?”

“Because you love me! Now, stop smiling. I need you cool, calm and collected. Show no fear.”

Easy for her to say. She wasn’t standing on a building ledge, wearing nothing more than a jock strap, a black tutu, and balancing my six feet two and one-hundred-and-seventy pounds on a pair of well-worn ballet slippers.

“That’s it, just one more. Put your hands on your waist. That’s it…. Perfect… And, we are done.”

“Finally.”

“Did I tell you that...
