Ignoring the Human

This week I tried a different tactic with the Human and his training. I ignored him for several days. If he went into a room, I’d go to the one he just left.

It let me get a little more sleep, but soon I was lonely and came back. I might have to suck it up and deal with the kisses and being picked up.

Proving Grounds out today!

The twelfth story in the Ardent Saga is out today, Proving Grounds. Burning and High-Powered are back, trying to solve the most recent string of disappearances. Follow them in this short story as they track the person behind it all and see who is really pulling the strings.

If you haven’t already check out all the other great stories in the Ardent Saga, or at least Burning Out before you read this one. it’s available on Amazon and free with Kindle unlimited.

Writer’s life and exercise

For those that know me well, they know that I enjoy running a lot. I also find many other types of exercise relaxing and worth while. if you just looked at me it wouldn’t be obvious that I work out five to six days a week (I eat way too much), but I do.

I feel that being as healthy as possible is a benefit for what ever a person does in their life. Whether they sit at a desk all day like I do. Or have an active job. It helps keep the mind fresh and invigorated.

As mentioned I like running, I try to improve each and every run. Currently, I am not in the best shape when it comes to my running and the speed I can go. I hope to fix that.

In the past, I’ve been able to run 5k’s in twenty minutes, and have run 15 miles. One day I hope to run a Marathon. Maybe even do a triathlon, but I need to improve my swimming for that.

As it is I enjoy running 5k’s and hope to do another Warrior Dash or a Tough Mudder. In the meantime I am going to focus on getting the weight I gained off.

I’ve almost got the human trained back up. He forgot so much in the time he left. At least this time he is learning faster. I’ve got him to give me tons of kisses this week to make up for leaving.

This week the human went downstairs to write, and I found an interesting spot to watch him write. Also, if you ever want to be scared watch the human dance. It scared the daylights out of me. He danced, and I sprinted to my best hiding place.

The training of the human went poorly this week. He left me, up and left me for nearly two days. I wasn’t alone, but I was with an untrained human. To make it even worse when my human returned he has forgotten all my hard work. I’m getting picked up and kissed more than before. The retraining must begin immediately.

Happy Weekend

Luna relaxing as I write

I’m suffering from some Luna withdraw.  A friend asked me to go to his house for a few night to watch his dog as he and his family is out of town for a funeral.  His dog is a good one, but I miss my kitty. Even if it is only for a few days.

About halfway done with the Urban Fantasy novel that takes place after The Shattered Veil. But I decided to take a break from it and started on a story that involves Raina from the flashbacks in An Absent Gale. It’s a story that I really wanted to tell. Also polishing up Mason this week. Derek is making great progress on that, also finished up some short stories for the next Cyberwar anthology.

The human tricked me this week. He fooled me into a pink box, then carried me around. Before I knew it, I was at someplace called a vet. All in the attempt to make sure I was healthy. I could have saved the trip. I’m fit as a fiddle. It was all weird, the man in a white coat prodded and examined me. If I heard correctly even checked out my poop. At least it wasn’t too long.

Sidenote, I caught two flying raisins this week.

A State of the Author

Figured I’d give a little update of recent releases and planned ones. Since May Derek and I have published several short stories, both by themselves and in anthologies. The single ones are our Ardent Saga Stories that revolve around superheroes. There should be one more coming soon. Just waiting on the cover from our good friend Spencer. Another will be in an upcoming anthology that is the follow up to Cyberwar.

I recently finished the first draft to the novel Breath of Disaster. That should be released sometime next month and is the second full novel in the Elementalist Series. If you haven’t read An Absent Gale, the first novel, it is out on Amazon. Along with a short story, Whirlwind of a Summer that tells a story that takes place between the two books. Scheme of the WInd another short story is out in the Anthology Flight of the Phoenix. The Prophecy will be released shortly in the Prime Fantasy Anthology, and so will The Draft and her Mother in The Grocer and the Goblin Prime Fairy Tale Anthology.

A while ago we mentioned the follow-up novel to Aiden our first published book. Derek and I are slowly going over it. It needed a few changes that have been slow and tedious, but it is nearing completion. It should be released in the coming months as well.

Since I am not content with only writing in three series or universes at a time, I have a few more things I’m working on. I am working on another short story in my Time Marshal universe; a follow up to Preventing a War. It will also be part of an anthology.

Lastly, I am taking my short story a Shattered Veil and making a full novel. It will take place after the event of that story. I’m currently a third of the way done with it. Once I finish that I will move on to the third book in the Elementalist. But in the meantime, I’m enjoying writing about Vampires Weres and Wizards.

Cyberwar – Ripped from the Headlines

This weekend my writing group, Phoenix Prime released another anthology, Cyberwar: Digital Battlefield.

If it isn’t clear all the stories involve some sort of cyber attack. Each story is well written and engaging. I’m part of this anthology with my short, Preventing a War. This is a short that takes place in my Time Marshal universe. It tells the story of the begin of the world war 3.

I hope you like the anthology and the stories. Just a heads up, there will be more coming.

A new office chair

My human got a new chair for while he writes and pets the laptop. It’s pretty comfy. It also allows me to sit closer to him as he works. I’ve taken over the old chair.

I’ve been busy this week plotting against the flys that have invaded. Most of my attacks haven’t been successful, but a few have. My human seems to get a kick out of it. With the way, I spring into action and leap into the air.

Luna
