Bittersweet
Holding back the torrent
If only by showing up
Make you take the hard way
Me as the righteous angelic
You, drinking from my cup
Truly I never asked you
To follow a winding lead
Merely sought to keep you
From the shadowy trees,
The love of fickle breeze
You never picked a color
A flavor, nor a degree
Only that it all landed,
Resting on quiet pleas
Between you and me
Forgive my part in this
It’s what you give freely
The balance in the mix
You the righteous angelic
Me, drinking from your cup
Speak To Me
Forgive me these questions I can’t help but ask
Words take me in as if they were written to my heart
Then it seems impossible to hear them from you
Confused with the difference between love and touch
More by the distance from the earth to the sky
Even the sun you spoke of makes me think
How beauty and grace could glance my way
If no more than an accidental verse, I am swayed

Opposites ~ by Antanya St. John
I wonder how the darkness reads us,
How the sunlight receives us,
As nature reverses, and oxygen breathes us…
When shall I find you?
Where everything is flipped
In opposites and contrast paintings…
You keep shouting that we’re different,
Why should we be the same?
I don’t want identity defined by anyone elses’ name…
“…Carpe Diem, Memento Mori…”
There is no beginning or end to our story.
I feel ages past, and centuries ahead…
In memories of when I should have been dead,
You are with me, in ev...

The Shadow Becoming
Drawing from a concept as old as my soul
Only lacking years of sight to explain it all
Picking holes in my plan but he’s too good to let go
.
His enigmatic words drain my spirit’s marrow
He owns every pristine tear shed in my misery
His brand of love more toxic than poisoned arrow
.
Though saline pain gives him no pleasure
Seems the source of my tears is what he prefers
My ages old struggle begs him to the treasure
.
In shadowed maneuvers, he mines my character
Caressing tender emotions to b...
Three Day Quote Challenge – Day 3
“Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it’s the answer to everything. … It’s the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it’s a cactus.”
-Enid Bagnold
Lisa invited me to participate in the three day quote challenge. “Post a quote three days in a row and pick three others each day.” Everyone on WordP...

Anastasia
She’s burning down the woods
With a wand made of holly
Woodland creatures are fleeing
Leaves and sticks smoked black
Flames on everything she’s seeing
The incantation spelled backward
Runes for the wrong time of year
The moon set on a different muse
She may never return from here

Dizzy
I told you I don’t like being dizzy. My equilibrium is delicate. I can’t dance besides.
You insist upon running in circles around me when I refuse to spin. That makes me dizzy.
The way you spin me with abandon, flip me on my head and send me into orbit is fine. It’s the only form of dizzy that I might learn to like.

Happy
One day I got tired of picking through sand on the beach trying to find one particular grain. My eyes were fixed on the palm of my hand; my focus intent on searching until the whole beach was combed.
Day after day, I searched. Soon, I realized that the more I searched, the more happiness eluded me. Every grain I held brought me lower until I accepted that every one held its own measure of sadness.
Finally it happened. Not for my relentless search, not because I had completed my task, but be...
Three Day Quote Challenge
“Zoinks, it’s the creepy coin collector again!” – Shaggy
Though she is encouraging the crush I have on her, Lisa picked me to do this challenge. Post a quote for three days, or three quotes in three days…pick three bloggers each day.
Then pick off out three bloggers to do it. I pick BB, Kyle and Sagarika. As usual, the governing body of WordPress obliges you to do it, not me. :)
