Artsy
The last market of the season is today. I took a walk around the square this morning and found a few tables that have handmade wares…with the exception of the first picture. It is a private gallery that doesn’t allow local artists to show their art. It’s a pretty shop I guess…
This lady makes the coolest things out of cotton and hemp. Her Jamaican accent fits perfectly with her products.
Denise Inge is the artist behind this lovely work. Her art is available by contacting her on Facebook;...

First Post Challenge
My first post on WordPress was titled “The Flaming Journals“. It was a cheeky list of some pitfalls and advice for the writing industry and artists in general. I also explained my system for keeping the past where it belongs; often in flames.
I wrote this post during a very transitional period. I was still contemplating what to do with my first blog, the decision was to shut it down. I was very frustrated with the way journalism works. There are people who would destroy another simply for be...

My Moon
She wasn’t the one who hung the moon
Everyone knows it was the big bang
Unless it was the boss of the sky…
She only makes it shine perfect light
Her sweet spirit calls it from sleep
Rises for her with an upward glance
One look through her almond eyes
The sparkle, the reflection of right
If I could concoct a strong lasso
Tie all the perfect knots to catch
I would pull it down to my room
To remind me what I long to stare
When she goes, I’ll not be alone
Burnished moon my pendant to wear

To My Friend
To my friend,
I have a few things that I feel like you should know, but I don’t think they will be received in the manner I would like them to in a personal letter. I needed a more roomy space to say this, so I chose an unlikely place for you to even find it.
We all had to move on from our positions of the last season. Some of us spent the season in the quiet, organizing our thoughts and planning our next moves and resting. A few of us were busy living out those things that were plotted duri...

Step
I stood and watched from the fringes
They were so alive and moving so fast
I saw graceful ladies step in confidence
Men were boys with the wisdom of the old
They danced together in twos and threes
I saw soul mates spinning with abandon
Loners happy just to be in such company
My place on the outside became thorny
With a sense that I might learn to dance
Exist in the company of the dancing-alive
Prosper and thrive with the likes of them
So I took the field as if it were my own
Closed my eyes t...

My Butterfly
My butterfly is a free one it’s true
I’ve no need with nets for catching
Wings delicate with shocks of blue
Better watch for stunts she’s hatching
I’ve no need with nets for catching
Flutters about as if without a care
Better watch for stunts she’s hatching
To capture her lighted, still, so rare
Flutters about as if without a care
Wings delicate with shocks of blue
To capture her lighted, still, so rare
My butterfly is a free one it’s true
This poem was inspired by “Hellion”written by L...
