That Moment
bloom for a moment
hide again when sun it fades
fair weather flowers

The Heart Is For
Legend will tell us where the heart belongs
The girl shall surrender it to her beloved
For his safe keeping, a fierce guardian
A hiding place, a still frame objectified
Legend tells us the way to cease love
To preserve what began as a seedling
Granting its jealous keepers access
Inside her potential rarely observed
Legends and myths are ever muddled
Truths obscured by the single minded
Patriarchal ignorance written in stone
Ensured her heart to be his captive
Legend older than the ancien...

Dreamer
My library is built
With rows of shelves
Four librarians to alphabetize
Two just for filing
And one to stamp dates
The lobby is clean,
Counters and screens
Pristine facilities
So the people may read
What every story means
I’ve only yet to fill
Every shelf in place
More than my desk can hold
This building will be full
I will become the same
Until then, halls will echo
The words I won’t forget
A book for each morning
Poetry smuggled from night
All drawn under flickering light

No Halo
I remember trotting about as if I knew the game
The routine, being in a loop that never pays out
A poet or a pallet knife, I hear incessant calling
Intimate strangers we know all too much about
It wasn’t the darkness tracking me that itched
Nor the knocks on the stage door rattling me
Hardly the fault of every artisan’s imparting
No, this was a season unlike all before now
Innocence has never been at stake, not here
But all I see is a heavy bar, no longer climbing
Her inspiration, his tena...
Close Your Eyes
Close your eyes to snuff me out
Squeeze them tight
Slur my name
Filled with doubt
I see it on your lips
The guilt seeping
As death from your fingertips
Is it them for me
They will never know
Empty, alone
Is becoming of me
Two kinds of muse
One is for lovers
The other, I lose
The time is come
To hide or run
Alliance reversed
Your voice, the shrew’s hum
My sandstone pose
Red rocks
My cavate, no one knows
Hand you a flower
The only man who knows
The one you like best
Stargazer over rose
As bef...
Close The Door
From the bottom
Looking up
I find myself wanting
Want it to stop
Pouring In
Hole in the top
What kind of world
Make it stop
The window is shut
Drapes drawn tight
Stellar light
Retinal plight
Please stop the flood
Stem the ebb and flow
Close the door
Lock it and go

Moth Eaten
Fear not the moth fluttering about your lamp
Plain sight is no handy method to fiber away
Your wools and furs and everything you wear
These are not eaten of by the winged thing
The holes are made by hundreds of them
Shirt off your back devoured by her offspring
The children of the innocent moth are to blame
It is the ego laden man who sought out to tame
A creature of consumption, the feminine energies
He is a thousand hungry caterpillars eating away
Empty as if newborn, in a chase to becom...

Talk About The Weather
If I sit very still and let the weather pass
The puddle I sit in will drain beneath my nose
My shirt will dry and loosen from my skin
The sun will warm me like a hot bath
Be still, let the weather pass
