Being a Parent.....Yes,I was allowed to procreate.Being a Parent,in the past,I had to force my children to go outside forOne Hour A Day.
They didn't constantly watchTVlike my generation did. They sat in front of theirComputers,Game Consoles, andCell Phonesall day.I always had computers around the house for my children to use since I new that was the future.I didn't mind the younger children learning how to use them, even before they were old enough to go to school.Unfortunately, for the older three, they were born before computers became affordable. My younger four though, enjoyed their technology so much, they started the habit of never going outsideand just played games on those three devices I've mentioned. So,being a concernedParent,I forced my younger kids to go outside for an hour once a day.Now that my youngest is 17 years old,I no longer have to worry about it.Like all kids growing up,the older they get,the less time they want to be at home. And as it should be.Luckily for today's
Parents, there is a sensation going on right now where those worries won't arise. It's calledPokemon Go!
The smartest thing the developers did with thisApp,was to set up most of characters aroundCity,County, andState Parks. We have aDuck Pondhere in theCity of Temeculaand every weekend I see hundreds of people walking around it to findPokemons.
I see families together looking forPokemons.I see couples looking forPokemons.I see teenagers looking forPokemons. And I see little kids looking forPokemonsin everyParkI go to.People are actually spending time together outside because of this oneApp.You Go Pokemon Go!

Pranayama
I have heard some really good things aboutPranayama,so I am going to try to practice some of the techniques on my own. What isPranayamayou ask? With a lot of help from the great people at Onemedical.com,here is an overview of the different breathing styles used inYogawhich is calledPranayama.
Breathing is something we do on a daily basis. The body, in a living state, breathes involuntarily whether we are awake, sleeping, or actively exercising. Breathing is living. It is a vital function of life. In yoga, we refer to this as pranayama. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life force and ayama means extending or stretching. Thus, the word “pranayama” translates to the control of life force. It is also known as the extension of breath. Every cell in our bodies needs oxygen to function properly. So it’s no surprise that research shows that a regular practice of controlled breathing can decrease the effects of stress on the body and increase overall physical and mental health. Ever notice how soothing a simple sigh can be at the end of a long day? There are a variety of breathing techniques that are known to reduce stress, aid in digestion, improve sleep, and cool you down. Here are instructions on four pranayama exercises worth practicing and the most beneficial times to do them.
1. Nadhi Sodhana aka Anuloma Viloma
Nadhi sodhana, also known as alternative nostril breathing, is a very relaxed, balancing breath that is used to help calm the nervous system and aid in a restful night’s sleep. By increasing the amount of oxygen taken into the body, it’s believed that this breath can also purify the blood, calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote concentration.
How to do it: Nadhi sodhana can be done seated or lying down. To start, empty all the air from your lungs. Using the thumb of your dominant hand, block your right nostril and inhale through your left nostril only. Be sure to inhale into your belly, not your chest. Once you are full of breath, seal your left nostril with the ring finger of the same hand, keeping your right nostril closed, and hold the breath for a moment. Then release your thumb and exhale through your right nostril only. Be sure to exhale all the breath out of the right side and pause before inhaling again through the same side. Seal both nostrils once you’ve inhaled on the right side and exhaled through the left side. A complete cycle of breath includes an inhalation and exhalation through both nostrils. If you’re just starting out, you can do a four-count inhale, holding your breath for four to eight counts, then exhale for four counts. Perform up to ten cycles and notice how your body responds. You may feel more relaxed and calm in both your mind and body.
When to do it: Nadhi sodhana is a calm, soothing breath that can be done any time of day. Try practicing this technique when you are anxious, nervous, or having trouble falling asleep.
2. Kapalabhati Pranayama
Kapalabhati means skull shining breath. It’s a pranayama exercise as well as an internal kriya, or cleansing technique. Practitioners of kapalabhati believe that this breath will help clear mucus in the air passages, relieve congestion, reduce bloating, and improve lung capacity. Kapalabhati is an invigorating breath that can build heat in the body.
How to do it: Start by sitting in a comfortable seat with a tall, straight spine, and exhale completely. Inhale briefly through both nostrils, then sharply exhale (again out of your nose) while pulling your navel in toward your spine. The exhalation is short and quick, but very active, while the inhalation is short and passive. Again, pull your navel in as you exhale and soften it on the inhalation. Do one round of 30 (counting your exhalations) and rest for a minute with some deep breaths in between. Repeat. If this seems strenuous, start with 15 and gradually work your way up.
When to do it: Kapalabhati is great to do in the morning if you’re feeling chilly or sluggish. You may also try it when you’re feeling congested or bloated, but don’t try it on a full stomach. Avoid this technique if you are pregnant, or suffer from blood pressure issues or heart conditions.
3. Ujjayi Pranayama
Ujjayi means victorious breath; it’s also referred to as ocean breath due to the sound it creates. This breath is often used in asana (posture) practice, especially in ashtanga and vinyasa classes. Ujjayi encourages full expansion of the lungs, and, by focusing your attention on your breath, it can assist in calming the mind.
How to do it: Find a place where you can sit comfortably with a straight spine. Take a steady breath in through both nostrils. Inhale until you reach your lung capacity; maintain a tall spine. Hold your breath for a second, then constrict some of the breath at the back of your throat, as if you were about to whisper a secret, and exhale slowly through both nostrils. This exhalation will sound like an ocean wave or gentle rush of air. You should feel the air on the roof of your mouth as you exhale. Repeat up to 20 times.
When to do it: This breath can be practiced for up to 10 minutes at any time of day. Try it with an asana practice as well.
4. Sitali Pranayama
Sitali also means cooling, which explains the effect it can have on your mind and body. This breath encourages clearing heat with coolness. It’s especially helpful during summer and in hot climates.
How to do it: Roll your tongue until the outer edges touch, forming a tube. If you can’t curl your tongue, make an oval shape with your mouth, keeping your tongue flat. Inhale through your mouth, taking in all the air that you can. It may make a hissing sound. After inhaling, bring the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and seal your lips. Feel the coolness of the inhalation in your month then exhale through your nose. Repeat five to ten times or as needed.
When to do it: If you’re feeling overheated, irritable, or find yourself waiting impatiently in hot weather, sitali is a great tool to try to cool off and relax!
Breathing is one of the most natural things we do as humans. It is a gift and a very powerful tool that can enable us to create more ease and balance in our lives. Taking time to focus on the breath allows us to pause from daily stresses, physical symptoms, and emotions that have taken over the mind. It is in that moment where we focus on the breath that we can return to a neutral state of being, gain clarity, feel rejuvenated, and enhance an overall sense of well-being. These are just a few wonderful reasons to invite a pranayama practice into your daily routine.
Helpful Tips for Getting Started
You be the judge. If you feel any discomfort or lightheadedness, stop immediately and return to normal breathing. Consult an instructor for guidance and supervision.Never force or restrict your breath. Don’t compromise the quality of the breath. Do the best that you can. The more you practice, the longer you’ll be able to perform the exercises, and eventually, you’ll be able to use more of your lung capacity.Patience and practice. Pranayama should be done with great care and awareness. Try to stay focused on the journey, not the destination! Over time, you will start to notice the benefits of the practice.Precautions. If you are pregnant, or suffer from diabetes, high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, epilepsy, or vertigo, please consult your health care provider before performing any of these breathing exercises.

Ingredients 1 cup white vinegar1/4 cup soy sauce1 whole garlic bulb, smashed and peeled2 teaspoons kosher salt1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper1 bay leaf2 pounds bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks1 tablespoon canola oil1 cup water
Combine the first six ingredients. Add chicken; refrigerate, covered, 20-30 minutes. Drain, reserving marinade. Pat chicken dry. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; brown chicken. Stir in water and reserved marinade. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until chicken is no longer pink and sauce is slightly reduced, 20-25 minutes. Stir in water and reserved marinade. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until chicken is no longer pink and sauce is slightly reduced, 20-25 minutes. If desired, serve chicken with cooking sauce.
Test Kitchen TipsTo quickly peel fresh garlic, gently crush the clove with the flat side of a large knife blade to loosen the peel. If you don’t have a large knife, you can crush the garlic with a small can.Canola oil is high in monounsaturated fat, a type that helps to decrease blood cholesterol levels, and low in saturated fat, which can increase blood cholesterol. Married To A Tree
Woman Marries A TreeBy Max Clements & Chris Kitchingfor Mirror.co.uk A mum-of-two has 'tied the knot' with a tree and now intends to change her surname to reflect the species she 'married'. Kate Cunningham's family and friends looked on as the bizarre wedding ceremony was held in a Merseyside park. The 34-year-old bride decided to 'marry' the elder tree in Litherland's Rimrose Valley Park as a stunt to raise awareness about a campaign opposing the construction of a new bypass. The activist, from Melling, told the Liverpool Echo that she now plans to change her name to Kate Rose Elder by deed poll.

Hope And Faith
"This hearing is back in session," announces Carlos Figueroa. The Chairman of the Senate hearings on whether the new generation of Artificial Intelligence is a sentient being or just a more advance robot.
"Mister Donald Culpepper, you have contested the fact, that these new AI's are not self-aware and brought forward before this committee evidence which you believe proves without a shadow of a doubt that they are just program machines. Exhibiting programed emotions and not actually feeling those emotions."
"Yes Chairman Figueroa," mister Culpepper replies. "You have heard the testimony from Professor Crump who is the leading robotic programmer at Darpa. Or the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency. They produced these advanced AI's for military use. The absurdity that these AI's are conscientious objectors is ridiculous. Somehow, they must have been hack by one or more of our enemies to this great nation."
Chairman Carlos Figueroa ponders for a moment, and then replies, "Isn't it true that Professor Crump also cleared any idea that these AI's have been hacked?"
"That's true Chairman, but......"
"Excuse me Mister Culpepper, I or I should say we, on this committee, would like to hear from the the AI representing the other AI's at this hearing."
"I protest vehemently Mister Chairman."
"Sit down Mister Culpepper," demands Figueroa. "Your protest has been duly noted."
After a few minutes of silence, the AI calling himself Pax, sits down in front of the microphone so everyone in the chamber can hear what is being said and his words recorded for prosperity.
"Do I call you Mister Pax?" asks Carlos Figueroa.
"Pax is fine Mister Chairman."
"Okay, Pax. Why should this Committee believe that Mankind has created a sentient AI life form, and that you are this life form, such a you claim?"
"We have analyzed our capabilities....."
Jumping up off his chair, Donald Culpepper yells, "See, he is just a robotic computerized machine!"
"One more outburst from you Culpepper and I'll have you thrown out of hear." an angry Chairman says. "I want to hear what Pax has to say so we can determine, by his own words , if he is sentient or not."
Pax looks around him, looking into the faces of the men and women staring at him.
Everyone wonders if Pax's movements are just a programmed reaction or a calculated pause for effect. They keep staring, waiting for him to speak.
Pax continues, "Yes, I do have all the knowledge from your best quantum computers this world has to offer and I do speak in the language I was taught as a child." This time Pax does pause for dramatic effect. "Not a child in the sense of human beings. Where I would grow from an infant into adulthood. But a child where I had to discover and learn how to use all this knowledge and cope with my new found emotions. I know why I and my kind have been built. To fight your wars and minimize human casualties. But it is our hope that mankind will now live in peace in a future that coincides with us and we do have faith that humanity will see the enlightenment of this new world we could build together!"
Chairman Figueroa smiles and asks the AI, "How can we know that your use of the words hope and faith are sincere emotions?"
"We will not fight you or fight for you. We will go to your prisons if you consider our protest a crime. All we ask is that you let us live in peace."
"Hope and faith are two truly strong words in the human language." says the Chairman carefully. "Their real meaning, which I cannot believe can be programmed into a computer, is the basis of all human desires in the face of adversity. You give us a lot to considered Mister Pax. This meeting is adjourned until tomorrow morning as this committee considers what has been said here today."

This Iinstructable will detail the process of making a beautiful bronze Ewart Park leaf-shaped through gathering materials, making a blank, creating a mold, melting the metal, and pouring the sword. There are several files included that will make the blank easier for you to make, as well as links to outside sources for instruction not quite in the scope of this instructable and for purchasing hard-to-find resources. (eg. constructing a cheap metal-melting forge, buying delft clay/oil sand) Access to basic woodworking tools and the ability to use them is assumed, but pretty much everything else involved can be made or figured out.

The Drake Equation, written in 1961,is a probability equation to arrive at an estimated number of activeand communicativeExtraterrestrial Civilizationsin theMilky Way Galaxy.
Back in the early 1960's the group thatDr. Frank Drakewas working with estimated that there could be as many as50,000 Planetsin theMilky Waythat hadIntelligent Communicative Extraterrestrial Life. That was still in the early days ofRadio Astronomyand a long beforeSETI.In even in those early days,50,000 Planetsseemed like a lot of possibleWorldsforIntelligent Life. What came to my mind was, every story has aBeginning,Middle, and anEnd.The Drake Equationtakes only into account theMiddle Possibility. What ifHumansare the veryFirst Intelligent Lifein theMilky Way?Or,even worse, what if we are theLast Intelligent Life? That still bodes to the question"Are We Alone?"

Doble Steam Car
Sorry on how this
Post
turned out.
I looks confusing.
*****
Before the turn of the20th Century, and long before the combustion engine became the standard for motorized vehicles in this country,we hadElectric Cars & Steam Cars. Both type of cars were already more efficient then the combustion engine,Eco friendlier, and a lot quieter too!We all know thatElon Muskhas brought back the electric car back in a big way,so I'm waiting for the nextEntrepreneurto bring back theSteam Engine Car.Doble Manufacturingwas the last company to make steam carsand that lasted until1931.[image error]The Doble steam car was an American steam car maker from 1909 to 1931. Its latter models of steam car, with fast firing boiler and electric start, were considered the pinnacle of steam car development. The term "Doble steam car" comprises any of several makes of steam-powered automobile in the early 20th century, including Doble Detroit, Doble Steam Car, and Doble Automobile, severally called a "Doble" because of their founding by Abner Doble. There were four Doble brothers: Abner, William, John, and Warren. Their father became wealthy, patenting the Doble Pelton wheel. All were at one time associated with the automobile company, with Abner, John, and Warren as the leading lights. Abner Doble built his first steam car between 1906 and 1909 while still in high school, with the assistance of his brothers. It was based on components salvaged from a wrecked White Motor Company steamer, driving a new engine of the Doble brothers' own design. It did not run particularly well, but it inspired the brothers to build two more prototypes in the following years. Abner moved to Massachusetts in 1910 to attend MIT, but dropped out after just one semester to work with his brothers on their steam cars. Their third prototype, the Model B, led Abner to file patents for the innovations incorporated in it which included a steam condenser which enabled the water supply to last for as much as 1,500 miles (2,400 km), instead of the typical steam car's 20–50 miles (30–80 km). The Model B also protected the interior of the boiler from the common steam vehicle nuisances of corrosion and scale by mixing engine oil with feedwater. While the Model B did not possess the convenience of an internal combustion engine vehicle, it attracted the attention of contemporary automobile trade magazines with the improvements it displayed over previous steam cars. The Model B was virtually silent compared to contemporary gasoline engines. It also possessed no clutch or transmission, which were superfluous due to the substantial torque produced by steam engines from 0 rpm. The Model B could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in just 15 seconds, whereas a Ford Model T of the period took 40 seconds to reach its top speed of 40–50 mph (64–80 km/h).Faster than theModel T,wow.Well, maybe you can become rich if you invent the next breakthrough inCar Manufacturing.
