Maybe I should give a little background first before I tell the whole story.As a wannabe writer,I was told not to give out how old I am.People in thePublishing Businesshave stated that,until you are established,let your reader's imagination dictate how they think you look.They have a preconceived notion that someone old might not be able to relate to younger audiences."Because you are old, you won't understand what young people are going through today."Which is ludicrous.
Thirty-five years ago,I played bass guitar in a few,really loud,mostly in tune,Rock N' Roll Bandsin theState Of Wisconsin. The goal of playing at"Live Venues"was never to becomeRich & Famous.The goal was always to drink free beer,make a few extra bucks,and to meet the ladies.Even a local"Rock Band,"has what all musicians strive for.Groupies!

Fast forwarding to today.I was invited to aMemorial Day Party,like a lot of people around the country.I wasn't going there to get drunk,or make a few extra bucks for the weekend.I just went there to socialize with people.Walking into the place,myHostgreeted me inside his kitchenand seemed to be overzealous about announcing who I was.It turns out he finally purchased my eBook;No Return Address and thought it was sensational.A woman,a beautiful woman,in her late thirties was in the kitchen when this all came about.After all the hoopla died down,she made a bee-line straight towards meand struck up a conversation.It was the first time,since playing in"The Band,"that a women freely gave me her telephone number,and I didn't have to make an effort to get it!I am sixty years old now,and I don't imagine I will act on her invitation,since my wife would kill her,and me.

No,this wasn't an excuse to get my mug shot out on myBlogagain.I am going to talk about some serious stuff here.I hate,with a passion,whenSports AnnouncersorAthletessay before aSporting Eventthat they are going toWar! That theseSport Heroesare going to makeHistory! SPORTSis nothing like going toWar!It doesn't even compare.And real Heroes?We celebrate them onMemorial Day! Stop using those metaphorsSports AnnouncersandAthletes. The only recentSports FigureI can think of as being aHeroisPat Tillman!Pat TillmanTillman became an instant hero when he turned down a multi-million dollar contract extension with the Cardinals Football Team to enlist in the Army shortly after the 9/11 attacks. He was killed by friendly fire.

The Moving Mona Lisa

Do we really need this? Mona Lisa 'brought to life' with DeepFake AI On BBC.com/news/technology The video, achieved from a single photo, shows the model in the portrait moving her head, eyes and mouth. The latest iteration of so-called deepfake technology came out of Samsung's AI research laboratory in Moscow. Some are concerned that the rise of convincing deepfake technology has huge potential for misuse. Samsung's algorithms were trained on a public database of 7,000 images of celebrities gathered from YouTube. The AI system mapped facial features and movements on to a photo to bring it to life.
It also made videos of Salvador Dali, Albert Einstein, Fyodor Dostoyevsky and Marilyn Monroe. In a paper outlining its work, the Samsung team called its creations "realistic neural talking heads". There was a mixed reaction to the video demonstrating how the system worked with one describing it as like "watching the future of SkyNet unfold." Researchers at Tel Aviv University showed off a similar system in 2017. A fake video of President Barack Obama was created by Dr Supasorn Suwajanakorn in 2017. Talking to the BBC, the researcher acknowledged that the technology could be misused but he added it could also be used as a force for good, such as allowing grieving relatives to create avatars of family members after they die. Experts have previously said that fake videos of politicians could fool entire populations and the issues do not stop at political manipulation. Deepfake technology has also been used to manipulate photos of celebrities to create pornography. Dave Coplin, chief executive of AI consultancy The Envisioners, said: "The rise of convincing deepfakes is something that could be really problematic unless we have this conversation. Members of the public need to know how easy it is to create convincing fake videos."
