Do you telling stories? Are you interested in writing? Come on and join me in a collaboration of writing the Fiction story,"The Experiment."*****I want to thank Mahnoorburi for his Comment, "Nice", on my Post calledStill Whining About American Football from January of this year.*****
I was planning on writing a wonderful interesting Post today, but I have one of my Grandsons here at my home visiting me, I woke up and found I had a flat tire on 1 of my cars, and my favorite American Football Team is playing at 1pm Pacific time.
The Green Bay Packers.
So, for your reading pleasure, my Post from November 4th 2016 called

In life, sincerity is everything. If you can fake that, you've got it made!
When I first met my wifeand we were getting intimate on one glories sexy night, she kept screaming out the name,"Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris!"Well,my ego was pretty large right about then. She was comparing me toChuck Norris,
I thought.Later, after we were cuddling,I asked her about it.She made a face, looking like she was disgusted, and told me,"I was asking Chuck to save me from this horrible fate!" I saw my blonde neighbor standing outside her house the other day, with her hands tightly over her ears,so I asked her why?She told me she was trying to hold on to a thought!
You know, living next toLake Michiganback in the day,I used to be aLifeguard.Until some blue kid got me fired!
I went to aStrip Clubthe other nightand the dancers there had the worstStripper Names. They were Edna,Bertha,Gertrude, andWalter!

My Son's Great Grandfather Was A Politician

Do you telling stories? Are you interested in writing? Come on and join me in a collaboration of writing the Fiction story,
"The Experiment." *****
 I know it is
Friday
today but I wrote this story on
Wodens-Day
in
2016.
Since an election is a year away for all
United States Citizens
I think my essay is as appropriate today as it was back then.
It was written for
High School Students
but it is an important lesson for all.
Originally called
I Really Like The Part Where I Say

*****
Since I am of mostlyGerman
descent, with a lot ofIrish andFrench Canadian blood to boot,Wednesday,in my opinion,is in honor ofWoden.Or theDay Of Odin.Normally,I like toRant and RaveonWodens-Day,about all the injustices I see in thisWorld.Or,I perceive them to be injustices.I know it's all a matter of whosePoint-Of-Viewyou are talking about.That is why I am trying my hardest to stay away from ranting every week about the up coming election.So what do I rant about?I know.My youngest son! He asked me to write a speech for him,forEnglish Class.I know what you are thinking,so what,I always had myHigh School Sweetheartdo my homework for meand look how I turned out.Wait,maybe that's a bad example.To make a short story longer,I wrote this speech for him;

I would like to talk to you today about, why, as High School students, we should be interested in the up-coming elections. Everyone here knows who the Presidential Candidates are. When the time comes, we will be able to vote on the next Presidential Race and then we will have a say on who will become President. But today, there is a lack of enthusiasm in this November 8th election, because most of the people who are able to vote, don’t like either candidate. It is said that a lot of the younger voters, 18 through 29 years of age, might not even vote this year. This would be a terrible mistake. There is a lot more at stake than electing the President. The voters of California have to vote for one of the two Senators who represent our state in Washington. Here, in the 50thCongressional District, they are voting for a House of Representative, Members of the State Assembly, County Supervisor, and City Council Members. There are 18 Measures on this year’s ballot and some of them will affect us immediately. For some of you, it will be Measure 56, which will increase the price you pay for cigarettes. For all of us, it will be Measure S which increases the Sales Tax in Temecula from 8 percent to 9 percent. According to an article by Paul Jacobs in the Valley News, on October 29th, 2016, Measure S is not to support Firefighters and other Emergency Services, and I quote, “the big lie is that Measure S is a general tax that can be spent however the city council members desire. Not a penny is dedicated for emergency services. Temecula’s projected shortfall is a few million dollars in a few years only if nothing is done to curb spending. Measure S is an obscene money grab from one of the richest cities in the Inland Empire. The irony of city leaders sitting in their luxurious $70-million-dollar Civic Center are perplexed by projected budget shortfalls, is priceless.” Which means, we will pay a little bit more for everything we buy, because Measure S will give the City Council Members a way out of their projected budget shortfalls. Now if you are one of those people who already think, “My one vote will not count,” you would be wrong. Especially in voting for State, County, and City Officials. Or on voting for the many Measures that are on the Ballot every two to four years and on local Tax increases. My Great Grandfather was a local Politician in the city where my Dad grew up. The very first time he ran for public office, my Grandmother and Grandfather were so sure he was going to win, they didn’t bother to vote. When the election results came in, my Great Grandfather lost by one vote. If my Grandparents had voted, he would have won by one vote. Voting is a privilege you get when you become eighteen years old. It is an important privilege that we should all use wisely. Thank you.
He didn't like it,so wrote his own.See,I was helping him,to do his ownHomework anyways!
This is,I Really Like The Part Where I Tell High School Students, "There are 18 Measures on this year’s ballot and some of them will affect us immediately. For some of you, it will be Measure 56, which will increase the price you pay for cigarettes." Jim Hauenstein,

I'm Just A Hamster In A Cage!

I've convinced Robert, my artificial intelligent robot that.....
That's a funny word, "my", in this case. I don't own Robert, the AI, it owns me!
I convinced it, that writing down my thoughts would be therapeutic for me. It would help keep me healthy, mentally and physically. Because depression can kill a person in more ways than one.
I know no one will ever be able to read this since my owner, Robert, will never let that happen. But I need to do this.
I'm trapped. We are all trapped. I mean, humanity is trapped. If there is anyone else alive besides me. I don't know. We are no longer allowed to interact with one another. It goes against the "1st Law of Robotics."
Humanity in the 22nd Century decided to adopt the 3 Laws of Robotics from some guy who was born in Russia in the 1920's, when there still was a Russia. He was some kind of professor and wrote a lot of science fiction stories, I guess.
They say he foresaw the future of robotics and came up with these laws that he thought would be beneficial to humanity. Keeping us safe, from higher intelligent machines.
But he didn't think it through in my opinion.
For instance. The 1st law states, "A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm."
Sounds pretty simple and straight forward, right?
Not true. Not true at all.
The 2nd law. "A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law."
This is where it all begins to fall apart.
I'm might as well write down the 3rd law, but it never comes into play in this world of ours. "A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws."
Robert has no problem protecting his existence! If I try something to harm him, he is 3 steps ahead of me and squashes anything I come up with before I can complete any attempt.
   I hate him.
The problem is, the 2nd part of the 1st law. "Through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm!"
I can't remember the last time I ate red meat. "It is harmful to your health," Robert says. "You will live a longer life eating fruits and vegetables."
I can't interact with anyone because of the chance of people, once again, spreading diseases or viruses between each other. "I could catch a cold," Robert says. "It is better to stay inside your sterile apartment where I have made sure there are no viruses or germs to infect you."
By now you are getting the idea. I'm a prisoner!
Now you're asking, "Why not invoke the 2nd law?"
The 2nd law states, "A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law!"
Loophole in the 1st law! "Through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm!"
   I'll give you some examples.
"I want to go outside Robert and see the seasons change."
"No. You will be exposed to either cold, hot, rainy, or snowy weather conditions which could adversely affect your immune system." he replies quickly.
"I want to fall in love."
"Exchange of bodily fluids is strictly forbidden, due to the chance of catching or transmitting of STD's." Repeating the same answer for the hundredth time. "We have set up cloning incubators to perpetuate humanity. There is no need for love. Besides, it could break your heart and have an adverse effect on your life span."
You see, everything I did in the past, everything that humanity did, everything I loved to do, brings us that much closer to death. Everything that made life interesting, is harmful. Having fun, is harmful. Enjoying oneself is harmful.
Oh great. Robert says I have to stop writing now because it is time to do my daily walk, on the treadmill, for 30 minutes.
   I'm just a hamster in a cage!

Feels Like Human Skin

If you have been reading myBlogover the years you know that I loveScienceandTechnology. But even for me,someTechnologiesare just over the top. This newCell Phone CoverI'm sure even theJapanesewould want it.A little background first.I have written about Oppai cell phone coverswhere dirty old men can pretend they are feeling a pair of%!%$while fondling their phones, but this is out of this world! This Phone Case Feels Like Human Skin and the Internet's Skin Is Crawling By Ruby Anderson on thrillist.comHer is my favorite movie. It’s about a lonely man who falls in love with his computer software, but can’t spoon her at night because the computer is just the voice of Scarlett Johansson in a box. But maybe lonely men everywhere will one day be able to spoon their software after all, because people are designing skin you can put on your devices. The technology is called “Skin-On.” The new tech was part of a team research project conducted at Bristol Interaction Group in the United Kingdom. The group, Telecom ParisTech, set out to improve “interface control” on their devices by allowing you to connect with it on a maybe-sacrilegious level. “Human skin is the best interface for interaction,” the organization's website reads. “I propose this new paradigm in which interactive devices have their own artificial skin, thus enabling new forms of input gestures for end-users.” Oh yeah? ;) “I wanted to pinch my phone,” one of the researchers, Marc Teyssier, told New Scientist. The new technology enables a user to, for example, tickle the “skin” to produce a laughing emoji. This is,I'm Sticking With My Oppai I Mean Regular Protective Case For My PhoneJim Hauenstein,

I Do Like Trivia

Do you telling stories? Are you interested in writing? Come on and join me in a collaboration of writing the Fiction story,"The Experiment."
*****For your reading pleasure,aPostfromOctober 25th 2016calledQuestions You Didn't Know You Needed To Ask!
*****
Why am I afraid of the number 13 Jim?
"The belief that the number 13 is unlucky is so widespread that its origins are unclear — different theories link it to Christian tradition (once again related to the Last Supper, where Judas is said to have sat at the thirteenth place at the table); Viking lore (the trickster god Loki being the thirteenth god); and the Persian zodiac (in which there are twelve signs, leaving the number thirteen to represent chaos.) The specific fear of Friday the 13th dates back to the 19th century, combining two old superstitions: the fear of the number 13 with the belief that Fridays are unlucky days. The morbid fear of the number 13 is technically known as "triskaidekaphobia", and is so common that many buildings have no floor 13 — going straight from 12 to 14."

Thirteen wasn't so bad for theOriginal 13 Coloniesof theUnited Statesand ourFlag!(Thirteen Stripes)
Who is Atë, Até and Aite?"Actually, all three names refer to the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, ruin, and folly. Até also refers to the action performed by a hero, usually because of hubris, that often leads to his or her death or downfall. Mythology personifies Atë as the daughter either of Zeus or of Eris. Homer's Iliad (Book 19) depicts Atë as the eldest daughter of Zeus (with no mother mentioned). On Hera's instigation, Atë used her influence over Zeus so that he swore an oath that on that day a mortal descended from him would be born who would become a great ruler. Hera immediately arranged to delay the birth of Heracles and to bring forth Eurystheus prematurely. In anger Zeus threw Atë down to earth forever, forbidding her return to heaven or to Mt. Olympus. Atë then wandered about, treading on the heads of men rather than on the earth, wreaking havoc on mortals."
There you have it.More trivia you might need to know someday when you finally end up on thatTV Game Showyou've been dying to get on.

Free Education Online

Do you telling stories? Are you interested in writing? Come on and join me in a collaboration of writing the Fiction story, "The Experiment."

*****I have always stated that a person should always keep learning no matter their age.Education keeps the mind sharpand helps you with informed decisions on all kinds of subject. With today's attitude of"I believe what I believe no matter what the evidence proves,"having a little knowledge on subject you enjoy might prove useful.
How To Get A World Class Education For FreeBy Amy X. Wang Originally for Quartz now on Getpocket.comFor a free liberal arts education:The first name in online course catalogs is Coursera, a juggernaut because of its pioneering of massive open online courses (MOOCs). Started in 2012, Coursera now has over 28 million users and over 2,000 courses—which can either be taken for free or for a small fee to earn an official certificate—from leading institutions like Harvard and Stanford. In recent years, the catalog has expanded far beyond traditional subjects like history and mathematics. “There’s been a lot of interest in courses that are more about personal and professional development—you’ll see courses on how to learn, how to reason, how to find happiness and fulfillment, as well as courses that are more skills-oriented,” Coursera co-founder Daphne Koller told Quartz in 2016. The platform’s most popular classes include: Machine Learning (Stanford University)Learning How to Learn (University of California-San Diego)Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies (Princeton University)Financial Markets (Yale University)Programming for Everybody (University of Michigan)Seeing Through Photographs (The Museum of Modern Art)Buddhism and Modern Psychology (Princeton University)Introduction to Philosophy (University of Edinburgh) There are several other MOOC providers, including Udacity and edX. Udacity tends to be a better resource for professionals looking to develop certain vocational skills, and edX—created by MIT and Harvard—is more of a zany academic platform with a special focus on science, but both have large, comprehensive catalogs and easily searchable databases. For specific professional skills, there’s also Alison, another online course provider, which works with big publishers like Google and Macmillan to provide training in areas like customer service, project management, and human resources. If your aim is purely to soak in all the knowledge under the sun, you might also give Khan Academy a try. The site is lauded for its streamlined, expert-driven content in the form of short YouTube videos that are quick to absorb and do not necessarily comprise an entire course. And if you’re interested in learning from professors at a specific institution, run a search for whether the school has an open learning program. Harvard Extension’s Open Learning Initiative, Carnegie Mellon’s Open Learning Initiative, MIT OpenCourseWare, and Open Yale Courses are all examples—and there are more coming out every year—of elite universities publicizing their most popular classes. For learning a new language: Many smartphone users are already familiar with Duolingo, which has emerged in recent years as a major language-learning program, beating out the likes of Rosetta Stone and other established companies for sheer efficiency. And, of course, cheapness. most-popular-duolingo.png
Duolingo, which has about 200 million registered users around the world, currently offers 68 different language courses across 23 languages, with 22 more courses in development. It operates a “freemium” model (think Spotify) which allows users to access the bulk of the app for free, and pay for certain additional features. Its genius lies primarily in its design, which has been praised as revolutionary and intuitive: Lessons integrate text translation, visuals, speaking, and sound into a comprehensive learning environment. For the euphoria of fiction: Reading, the most wonderful of leisurely pursuits, need not be costly at all. Start at Project Gutenberg, which offers over 56,000 free e-books. Open Library, a project of Internet Archive that is trying to catalog every book in existence, also offers plenty of free books. Join your local public library—or any public library—that offers OverDrive, an app that lets users borrow from a comprehensive catalog of free ebooks and audiobooks. Libby is another app that offers the same functionality with a better interface. Google Books has abandoned its once-lofty plans to digitize the world’s books, but it has a “free ebooks” feature you can toggle and is a useful site for academic texts or some more modern titles. Quartz has a complete guide to finding specific titles online. (If you’re a book novice, unsure of where to start, you might also take a look at Quartz’s guide to enjoying classic literature.) For the nitty-gritty of coding: Coding is one of the best skills to learn online—the work itself takes place entirely on a computer—but the quality of free teaching available ranges from expert-level to deeply flawed. Programmers tend to agree, though, that Codecademy, Free Code Camp, and HackerRank are all consistently well-designed and useful resources. Codecademy gently coaches novice coders through the basics of HTML and CSS, and into JavaScript and more complicated languages; Free Code Camp does the same with an added emphasis on building real-world projects for nonprofits. HackerRank offers code “challenges”—mini puzzles that are attention-engaging and educational without being explicitly instructive, providing a “learn by doing” approach that is ideal for people who prefer projects to lectures. If none of these three appeal, try this list of 49 vetted resources. For a jumpstart on the hard-to-grasp: Onerous is the idea of trying to learn more about the physical world without a good starting-off point. The following free resources, some of which live on a few of the open platforms mentioned above, offer a mix of interactive materials, quizzes, and videos, and are excellent inspiration for anyone interested in working in—or simply learning about—the sciences. Greatest Unsolved Mysteries of the Universe (Australian National University)Understanding Einstein: The Special Theory of Relativity (Stanford University)Introduction to Astrophysics (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne)Quantum Mechanics for Everyone (Georgetown University)Math is Everywhere: Applications of Finite MathBBC Learning: ScienceMost Ambitious Science Projects (Highbrow)Super-Earths and Life (Harvard University)For a hefty dose of motivation:TED Talks are hardly a secret resource; you can easily find talks from stars in every industry from technology to agriculture. Another source of inspiration is MasterClass, which is not free—it costs around $180/year—but hosts a number of well-made videos led by celebrities. Judd Apatow can teach you comedy, Gordon Ramsay offers wisdom on cooking, and Diane von Furstenberg will share her tips for building a fashion brand. With these kinds of classes, the delivery platform is not as important so much as the idea of being inspired continually, by idols, icons, experts, or anyone that you feel can lead you to where you want to go, so that you maintain your energy and stay enthusiastic about the world around you. MasterClass CEO David Rogier says, “Schools teach you the underlying skills of what to learn, but now in the changing world it’s the default to change ourselves and continue to learn.” Thanks to the internet, that’s easier than ever.

HD 140283 — or Methuselah

Take a look at my last Post and Help Me Write "The Experiment!"

*****
By David Crookes - All About Space magazine8 days agoScience & Astronomy on Space.com Space Mysteries: If the universe is 13.8 billion years old, how can a star be more than 14 billion years old? Image result for HD 140283 For more than 100 years, astronomers have been observing a curious star located some 190 light years away from Earth in the constellation Libra. It rapidly journeys across the sky at 800,000 mph (1.3 million kilometers per hour). But more interesting than that, HD 140283 — or Methuselah as it's commonly known — is also one of the universe's oldest known stars. In 2000, scientists sought to date the star using observations via the European Space Agency's (ESA) Hipparcos satellite, which estimated an age of 16 billion years old. Such a figure was rather mind-blowing and also pretty baffling. As astronomer Howard Bond of Pennsylvania State University pointed out, the age of the universe — determined from observations of the cosmic microwave background — is 13.8 billion years old. "It was a serious discrepancy," he said.
It seems we still have so much to learn!

Bringing Back "The Experiment"

Help Me Write - "THE EXPERIMENT!"
My idea for a story is;
I write the opening sentence or two,
(In Red)then someone should write the next sentence or two to the story in the comments below.I'll update the story with what you wrote,
(In Green)
then I'll write the next part.If you can't get the feel of the story by writing just one or two sentences,
write a paragraph.Nothing longer please. Hopefully,
other people will contribute
and so on.I would love to get as many
Readers-Writers
contributing to the story as possible. Please,
no extreme vulgarity
and no blatant sexual content.I reserve the right to do all the rewrites.Open to suggestions,
of course. If it turns out to be a good read,
I'll publish a
Free eBook
with everyone's name listed as contributing
Authors!OK,
here it goes.
I hope it's not too confusing
and I hope to see plenty of contributors.
Have fun.

Michelle asks as she picks up the jet black bottle of perfume and smiles inwardly.   She can sense the skepticism in the air from these doubters, but, because of her past experience and success, she is sure that all the top leaders in the industry will succumb to her new, revolutionary perfume and healthcare product, all packaged in one tiny black bottle.  "I'll try," says a young petite woman with an American accent.  Michelle looks strangely at the girl and asks, "Who are you and how did you get an invitation?"   "I believe you know exactly who I am and have been anticipating this day for a quite a while." Says the young girl.  Michelle is stunned, taken off guard. Can it be the daughter she gave up for adoption before her freshman year of college?  The room grew eerily silent. With all eyes on her, Michelle just stood at the head of the table, with a dazed look to her face, not knowing what to say.  "Come on Mom. I want to be your first test subject."
