Coronavirus In A Large Gathering
I have another observation I would like to talk about.Well, this might even turn out to be a prediction. It has something to do with theCoronavirus.I really didn't want to jump on theScare Bandwagonto start alarming people, but I believe that this is importantand everyone should be aware of what could possibly happen. You are probably aware that school are closing their doors all acrossAmerica, churches and mosques are closing their doors, concerts have been cancelled, conventions have been cancelled, college basketball games have been cancelled, soccer matches have been played in empty stadiums, and a lot of businesses are asking their employees, who are able to,work from home. There have been at least three cruise ships since the outbreak that have been stranded in ports, unable to release their passengers because of the virus's contamination.People are so worried about the spread of this virus that they are doing everything in their power to not get infectedor spread it accidentally. But,there is one place in this country where the mentality of patrons supporting certain establishments can't see the light of day.Literally.Because there are no windows at Casinos! And these gambling houses are everywhere."Only two US states have a 100% ban on gambling: Hawaii and Utah. Only six US states do not allow lottery betting: Hawaii, Utah, Mississippi, Alabama, Alaska, and Nevada. Twenty-two US states allow lottery gambling or pari-mutuel betting on horse races, but do not have land-based casinos." From Online United States Casinos.comWhere do you think the next major quarantine will be?Where there are large groups of people who congregate of course. And what kind of business do you think is not feeling the global recession right now?Gambling, that's who.
InCalifornia, where I live,we have an abundance of casinos. There are nine within 25 miles of my house.I know of no better way to spread an infectious disease like
COVID-19.

Belonging
An observation by me.Belonging"A sense of belonging is a human need, just like the need for food and shelter. Feeling that you belong is most important in seeing value in life and in coping with intensely painful emotions. A sense of belonging to a greater community improves your motivation, health, and happiness."By Karyn Hall Ph.D. for PsychologyToday.comI have thought about this word for a long time.It has a lot to do with, why I feel people form groups. So they can feel a self of worth.Even in the face of overwhelming evidence we have a resurgence of people who once again believe in theFlat Earththeory. They refuse to change their minds because their fellow believers would eventually banish them from the group. Why rich affluent movie stars believe inScientologybecause they want their essence to live on forever. Why people joinCults. Why people strongly affiliate themselves with aPolitical Party,a branch of theArmed Forces,Sport Teams, or even their place ofWork. This is why people joinHate Groups, buy lots ofGuns, and show their loyalty by exploding into a wild rampage of bloodshed. Why someone would even commitSuicidefor a group's ideological cause! And why so often lonely solitaire individuals also strike out in anger. It's their needand failure,
to Belongto something,to someone,or to some group.

Reprising - The Guy With The Tear Drop Tattoo
From myPostThe Guy With The Tear Drop Tattoo.September 8th, 2015.*****Let's make a long story short.First,I have mentioned before that I used to drink alcohol.I'm not going to say I regret what I did, because I believe if you regret things in life,it eats away at you,and you become afraid of living. What I am going to say is,I did make a lot of mistakes while drinkingand I've learned from it.One mistake I made was the day I was busted for a
DUI,here in
California.Actually,
at the time I was arrested,it is not as bad as it is now. Now,
you automatically receive a
30 Day Suspension
of your license, and depending on how drunk you were, you could be spending your weekends picking up garbage.
Either at the side of theHighway,or at the
City Dump.Yes the
City Dump.Because,
they didn't want debris flying out of the dump into neighboring neighborhoods!
I had to do weekends:(The very first day,you drive to a designated spot, where there are about 20 other people waiting. Then everyone hops onto a
Prison Bus,and you are taken to the
City Dump.I had the good fortune,or should I say misfortune,
of being one of two white guys on the bus.And we were the oldest members on the bus too!On that very first day,I was being harassed from a guy who had a
Tear Drop Tattoo. He was throwing ice at the back of my head, with him
and his buddies laughing.I know,it sounds childish, but they all had enough
Gang Tattoos
that I knew I was outclassed,
as far as fighting them off.
If it came down to that. But a stroke of luck came my way.You see,we don't all start on the same day. Some of these guys have been doing weekends for awhile. One guy had three years,of doing weekends! The old timers get to drive their own cars to the dump,so when we got their, our total reached about 30 people.Did you ever noticed how,no matter what situation you are in,their always seems to be a leader of the group your are with?Just before roll call, the person that everyone respected, because I believe he was their the longest, and after doing all the gang handshakes with everyone else, was just about to do the same with me,when I said,"Hi, I'm a white guy."And I gave him the classic white guy handshake.Everyone burst out laughing, including the leader, and he said,"That was sweet."From that day forward I was known as"Sweet"from all the guysand was considered one of the bunch.I actually got to talk to a lot of them. They were really surprised that I wasn't some
Snobby Rich White Guy.And a lot of the problems they were having raising a family, were the same problems we all have.I became friends with some of them,as far asWeekend Prison Worker Friendshipsare concerned. And to this day,15 years later(or more, I'm not sure),I still talk to one of those guysand I consider him a good friend!

True Dat
On Fridays,I try to start the weekend off with a bunch of jokes. In this way, after a boring week of workor school,I am hoping that it helps you forget all about those tedious necessary duties,we all have to go through in life.Instead of rambling off a bunch of jokes today, since I am a story teller,I would like to tell you a true story.
When my third youngest daughter was about sixteen years old she asked me to take her to Ross Department Store because she needed a new bra. When we arrived, my daughter walked up to a sales clerk, and being a little embarrassed, quietly asked where the teenage bras were kept. The clerk, seeing that I was standing nearby, asked my daughter, because she thought that she was embarrassed with me standing there,
"Is this the first time you are with your Grandfather buying a bra?"This floored my daughter.Literally.She was on the floor of the department store laughing her heart out. What do you think?I think I look young for my age.
What a handsome individual.Don't you think?
What do you call an Amish guy with his hand in a horse’s mouth?
"A mechanic."
What did the Tin Man say when he got run over by a steamroller?
“Curses! Foil again!”

I’m trying to get into classical music, but I can’t find any original recordings. All the music is performed by cover bands.
My wife noticed me standing on the bathroom scale,
sucking in my stomach.
“Ha! That’s not going to help,” she said.
“Sure, it does,” I said. “It’s the only way I can see the numbers.”
So what if I can’t spell Armageddon? It’s not like its the end of the world!
This is,Me Hoping You Have A Great Weekend,Jim Hauenstein,
And,

The Nose Knows
Please forgive me

I know not what I say when I talk about
Politics!
*****
OK,I have learned my lesson. It has taken me a lifetime to realize it,but unless you are in the profession of talking aboutPolitics,
you should avoid it at all costs.
But I'm not that smart.
Talking about
Politics
is like explaining to a blind person what beauty is all about,
or describing what the color blue looks like.
(Tell them to feel a cold running stream and that is what blue looks like.) This will probably not be the last time I will talk about this subject this year,
but Political Viewsare as varied as the noses on our faces.
Sure, you can group certain noses together,as you can group of certain people together who follow a particular political candidate. But their noses
and noses on the faces of a political candidates can say a lot about
our
Political Situation.According toBuzzle.com"Just like different body shapes and sizes, our noses can be classified into as many as 14 broad categories. While many of us ignore what our noses look like, there are many who can't take their eyes off this very prominent feature of the human face. There even exists a surgical procedure known as rhinoplasty, where professionals alter the contours of a nose to make it less unappealing."So how do you judge the personality of a person by their nose? The good people atBuzzlehave come up with a list."How your nose dips and twists says a lot about who you are."(Apparently)"Let's take a look at how your nose can reveal your true self."
Large : Materialistic, energetic
Small : Timid, loner
Straight : Systematic, good leader
Slightly upturned : Social butterfly, lucky within social circles
Wide (with a slight bump or flat) : Independent, expressive
Hook-shaped : Powerful, gutsy
Long : Stressed, respectful
Pointed : Self-assured, inquisitive
Snubbed : Immature, friendly
Thin : Finicky, out-of-con
This is,
The Longer I Live The Larger My Nose,
And I Can Guarantee That I Am Not Becoming More Energetic Because Of It! Jim Hauenstein,
And,
“One way of seeing all this was as a symptom of post-millennial decay, the degradation of public discourse, and the encroachment of celebrity worship into the arena of national affairs. Another way of looking at it was as an indication of the GOP's state of disarray. Then there was the way Trump perceives the thing: as a manifestation of his magnificence.”

The Youth Of Today Are Devil Worshipers
Every generation looks at the upcoming generation as the downfall of society. It goes back as far as the beginning of the written word.I have heard, but I can't find the documents to prove it,thatEgyptian Scribescomplained about their civilization's youth because of their frequent use of cannabis.
Still don't believe me?Here are some more recent documents I could find.According toScientific Americachess was ruining our youth. “CHESS-PLAYING EXCITEMENT”,which appeared in the July 2nd, 1859 issue of Scientific American.
The headline alone explains how ridiculous that was.
In the 1790 book Memoirs of the Bloomsgrove Family Reverend Enos Hitchcock wrote
"The free access which many young people have to romances, novels, and plays has poisoned the mind and corrupted the morals of many a promising youth and prevented others from improving their minds in useful knowledge."From the 1780 book General Dictionary of the English Language Thomas Sheridan wrote
"The total neglect of the art of speaking has been productive of the worst consequences. English is likely to become a mere jargon, which everyone may pronounce as he pleases."
And of course, you can many more items like this if you want to do the research.
This is,Saying I Believe The Youth Of Today Are Becoming Devil Worshipers BecauseChildren Are Growing Horns From Using Cellphones Jim Hauenstein,
And,
“What I like best about cell phones is that I can talk to myself in the car now and nobody thinks it's weird.”

Happiness Is Enjoying Yourself - Enjoying Yourself Is Happiness
When I created something in the past,I wanted it to last at least the duration of my lifetime.
I wasn't very good at art,but the things I created are still around.Well I hope they are still around.I think they are still around. In a chest in my garage.
TheRomansand theGreeksmade stone sculptures to last centuries.
But some of today's artists create only for the moment. Not caring if their work will last the test of time.
So I decided to write music when I was younger.Hoping it would be my epitaph. The dreams of youth.
Being a
Rock Star.
There are more songs on myYouTube Channel
if you like to listen to them. Now that I am older,I write aBlogwhich has a bunch of myShort Storiesthat I've written over the years.Such as

Memorize This - There Will Be A Quiz
Have you ever had a hard time remembering someone's name you just met a week ago?Or were told to do something at your place of workand as soon as the conversation was over you forgot what you were supposed to do?Don't worry, you don't haveAlzheimer's,you just haven't trained your mind properly to remember new things.
(Side note.) I was into computers right from the early days, starting in 1989.Not the exact beginning but pretty close. My joke,I often told when I forgot something was to say,"I have so much information stored up inside my brain that to add more I need to clean out my mind's cache once in awhile."Well,it went over as really funny with computer geeks.
You might have heard that,to remember something,it is best to set it up with a wordor number association. How to Quickly Improve Your Memory Using Number Association I am here to tell you that association does work, but better still,is using your mind on a daily basis to remember things! What was I talking about?Oh yeah.
(2nd side note.) I went toSaint Mary's Grade Schoolwhen I was growing upinSouth Milwaukee,Wisconsin.Yes,my hands were repeatedly slapped with rulers by angry wieldingNuns. But that is not the moral of this story. In the early 1960sSister Adellewas still teaching at our school at the ripe old age of 63.That was old back then. And she told her class, and I have lived up to it ever since,"To keep your brain sharp throughout your life, you need to memorize one thing per day! Don't write it down. Memorize it!"I know it has worked for me because I can still recite all48 Statesof theUnited States!
This is,What Do You Mean We Have 50 States Now?When Did This Happen?Jim Hauenstein,
And,
"At least with the Catholics, you know that when someone hands you a cracker there’s gonna be wine in the mix at some point."
