Grandma’s Tricks
[image error]The short story «Grandma’s Tricks» is one of my more literary stories. It was published in the lovely In-flight Literary Magazine in July 2015. Sadly it looks like this online magazine doesn’t exist online anymore. So I decided to publish my story here on my blog instead. Read the story here. Enjoy!

Hugo Awards eligibility
[image error]Just mentioning, for those interested: I am eligible for the Hugo Awards, the category Best Editor Short Form. I have been editor for six anthologies now, all devoted to science fiction, fantasy, horror. And the anthology American Monsters Part 1 was published in 2018 by Fox Spirit Books.
All of the short stories and graphic stories in the anthology are also eligible, except the stories by Colanzi and Kastensmidt, here is a list:

American Monsters – Editor’s blog

My 2018
[image error]Another year ends tomorrow and I felt it was time for me to look back a little bit at 2018 before starting on the new year.
My own writingI have sadly not been able to finish any fictional writing in 2018. I am working on my new novel but it is going very very very slow. I hope 2019 will be a year when I pick up the writing again because it gives me so much in return and I am growing increasingly restless and eager to finish the novel project and all the other writing projects I have planned...

American Monsters Pt 1 is out!
[image error]I am very thrilled to be able to tell you that American Monsters Part One is out, after one year’s work. Fox Spirit Books officially released the book on December 24th – an unusual release date but such a great Christmas gift.
In my opinion, most of the world’s monsters are forgotten today, while the rest are watered down and overused in the popular media, and then only a few of them dominate the scene – vampires, werewolves, demons, zombies – and they are almost all from Western popular cult...

Podcast – African Monsters

Garrett Eriksen has made a podcast for his website «Citizen Historian», where he had a lovely talk with two of the contributing authors, Nerine Dorman and Toby Bennett, about their monster story in the book, folklore, building identities in Africa today, being a writer and the legacy we leave behind, and horror.
