Table of contents for Winter Tales
Today Fox Spirit Books released table of contents for Winter Tales, the wonderful anthology I am editing, coming early 2016.
I received over a hundred submissions to this anthology – so many excellent winter tales and poems. It was a difficult task to select the final stories and poems. I am very pleased with the table of contents. The book will open with a great story from Mat Joiner and continue with dark and frosty tales from both new and established authors like Adrian Tchaikovsky, Ruth B...

Review: Waiting for the Machines to Fall Asleep
“Many of the tales circle around ethical questions connected to the relationship between humans and machines. Though there is disappointingly little about this book that screams “Swedish”, except for the nationality of the authors and the editor, I would still recommend the book for all lovers of science fiction, because the tales told are a really good read.
Read my review of the anthology Waiting for the Machines to Fall Asleep, edited by Peter Öberg, over at The Future Fire here.

Lovely new review of Stars Seem So Far Away
“This is a great curl-up-in-a-ball read that will transport you into your own imagination. It is a cracking read and, even though it is only slim, there is a big story at the heart.”
A very lovely review of my debut book The Stars Seem So Far Away from Mr Ripley’s Enchanted Books today.
“The plot is deeply rooted in Nordic history and Scandinavian culture, which gives the story a European feel. This is very different to the mainstream books written from a UK perspective.”
Thank you so much!

Finding Wonderland reviews The Stars Seem So Far Away
My debut book The Stars Seem So Far Away has received a lovely review from Tanita S. Davies at Finding Wonderland.
“With its beautiful cover and terse writing style, THE STARS SEEM SO FAR AWAY is just the right book for August,” writes Davies. And: “This very literary collection feels like something I might have read for an English class and felt lucky to get away with it. Though not exactly “young adult” in feel, the young protagonists bring an innocence and optimism into some pretty dire sp...

Illustration “Bright hunters”
The fabulous magazine The Future Fire – magazine of social-political speculative fiction – is ten years old. In addition to Djibril al-Ayad who has been editor-in-chief of the magazine since 2005, there are many talented people who have contributed to the magazine over the years. One of them is Switzerland-based artist Cécile Matthey, who has been an in-house illustrator at the magazine since 2006, and assistant editor since 2014. Cécile has been so kind to answe...

Lovely new review of European Monsters book
Just a short note to tell you that Charles Payseur at the online journal Nerds of a feather, flock together has reviewed European Monsters.
Charles has some good things to say about the book and the book series:
“What I liked about the collection was how varied the stories truly were, reflecting a nice diversity of monsters, styles, and themes.”
“… the collection is a nice montage of monsters and a nice sampling of styles and conceptions of what monsters are and how they infringe on the human...
