Fridays at Ofelia’s | The Fog of War: Rob & Matty

Guest-Post

Thank you so much to Ofelia for having me here today to talk about my new release, The Fog of War! The book is the first of a new trilogy in my Border Magic Universe. It’s a sapphic, historical, paranormal, romantic mystery set in rural England in 1920. I’m doing a bit of a blog-tour talking about the characters, settings and the history behind it and Ofelia is one of the stops. You’ll be able to find the other posts listed on my website as they come out this week.

Cover Reveal | He Melted Us

We’ve reached the end of the road, people! This is the last cover of the re-released stories. I still have From All of Us to All of You and Falling Through, but I’m not sure what to do with them. Falling Through I want to re-write, and From All of Us…

We’ll see. What we do have is He Melted Us

This story was written for the Love Unlocked anthology. Every story in it is about a padlock. It was from when they removed the love locks from Pont des Arts in Paris.

He Melted Us is about a slightly...

#WhatToReadWednesday | Pirates and Babies

Did you know that August is the month of family fun? I didn’t either, but I had a hard time coming up with a theme for this month’s #WhatToReadWednesday post, so I googled August holidays, and there it was!

It’s also International Pirate Month, and I so wish I’d read a lot of pirate books so I could’ve recommended some to you, but I’ve read very few. At the top of my head:

Blind Space by Marie Sexton

I love this one, and you might claim it’s not a real pirate since they’re in space, but I di...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | Change of Plans by Addison Albright

Guest-Post

Today, I’m delighted to say that fellow JMS Books writer Addison Albright is here on a visit. Welcome, Addison!

Thank you so much, Ofelia, for having me here on your fabulous blog today! Hello, Ofelia’s wonderful readers! I’ve got a new release out—my first in over a year—and I appreciate the opportunity to share a little bit about my story.

First of all, I should point out that this story completes a trilogy. I carefully inserted enough background information so that a random reader picking it...

You Do NOT Get to Sneer at Greatness

So… I was sitting by the kitchen table with my four children eating lunch, and the girls were teasing my son because when they’d gone up that morning, they heard a weird song on his radio. He was sleeping with music on and hadn’t heard it. They were mocking him for listening to opera. Going by their description, I whisked out my phone, opened youtube and put on:

Yes. It was that song, and it was terrible. I took a deep breath and started a lecture, telling them how they need to understand the...

Guest Post | Meet Cute Chronicles

Guest-Post

Hi everyone *waves happily* Thank you Ofelia for having me back here on your blog, you’re the best. I’m here to talk about my book addiction newest release 😊

Box sets, don’t you just love them? It’s the gift that keeps on giving, because when you’ve finished one story, the book isn’t over. No, you can turn the page (physical or digital) and—bam!—there’s a new story for you to dive into.

It’s also great value for money since you don’t have to pay the individual price for each story. I say it’s ...

Release Day | Deadly Sugar

It’s release day!!! Deadly Sugar is now back on the shelves. It was actually fun to read it again. I had forgotten most of the plot, so getting back to the root cellar was great… I feel fun is the wrong word, but you know, interesting.

This doesn’t really fit with my other stories. It’s not a romance story. Jett is reunited with his man, but it’s at the end of the story.

It’s been called disturbing, chilling, creepypasta etc LOL. So, you know, heed the warnings going in.

I don’t think it’s sc...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | Stage Struck by Ellie Thomas

Guest-Post

Thank you so much, Ofelia, for having me as your guest again! I’m Ellie Thomas, and I write Historical Gay Romance. In this blog, I’ll be chatting about my latest story with JMS Books, released on August 21st. It’s a Hot Flash entitled Stage Struck.

As the Elizabeth theatre scene in London is one of my favourite periods of history, writing a story with that backdrop was sheer self-indulgence!

Although there were travelling players and makeshift theatres during Tudor times, it was only during th...

Update | Making it Work

For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned.

typewriter-3711589_640

Update time! I’ve had a period now when I haven’t produced any words, at least not any story words. There have been blog posts and stuff, but the last time I wrote on a story was on July 21st.

I’m gearing up to start a new story, though. I’ll be off work for a week, so I plan to get some words down.

In July, despite not writing a word for the last ten days, I wrote 26.496 words. This leaves me with a total of 162.823 story words written...

August Giveaway

It’s giveaway time!

Where did July month go? I feel like it just started, and now I’m behind on everything LOL

At the beginning of each month, I run a giveaway of the books that were published during that month in previous years. So, now that we’re in August, I’m giving away an ebook copy of all my backlist books published in August to one lucky winner.

I’ve messed up release dates by re-publishing most of my books, but this year we’re going by the first release day.

How does it work?

I’v...
