Guest Post | A Love Story at the Top of the World by Scarlet Blackwell
Today, Scarlet Blackwell is here on a visit. She’ll be talking about Alaska, and having lived in the north of Sweden (I’m in the south now), I understand the problems of sleeping during the midnight sun. I didn’t live so far north as to experience the midnight sun, but where I was, we had 21 hours of daylight around the summer solstice. But enough about me. Welcome, Scarlet!
Thank you for hosting me this festive season!
My m/m erotic romance series Frozen, is set in Alaska during winter. It fe...

The Things We Wish For
December is for wishes, whether it be gifts we desire or things we hope for in the next year. And sometimes, we are given things we never knew to wish for.
Take Aaron for example. He seems to have everything a person could want: he’s good-looking, a powerful witch, and his family is rich. He goes to wintry Fairview to look for a missing girl.
Then there’s Ilya....

Guest Post | The Scent of Pine by Holly Day
Hello, everyone! Holly here to take over the blog again – I always make myself laugh saying that I’m here on my blog, but as my other name, very confusing.
Today, it’s Christmas Card Day, and it just so happens that I wrote a story. The Scent of Pine was meant to be a cosy little tale about a man finding peace and love in time for Christmas.
It didn’t turn out quite as cosy as I’d pictured it.
Since it’s written for Christmas Card Day, there are Christmas cards – several, creepy cards. I h...

Guest Post | December with Peppermint by K.L. Noone
Today we have K.L. Noone on a visit! She’s here to share a little about December with Peppermint. Welcome!
Hi, everyone – happy December! And thank you to the lovely Ofelia for letting me drop by! It’s always a pleasure.
The weather’s getting colder and the holiday decorations are going up—so I wanted to share a little bit about my new release, “December with Peppermint,” which is all about handmade decorations, terrible puns about mint, and definitely no one making a holiday-themed sex tape, n...

Guest Post | Surfacing Again: Ginger biscuit recipe by A.L. Lester
The lovely A.L. Lester is with us today, and they’ll share a little something from their new release, Surfacing Again, as well as a recipe. Welcome, Ally!
Thank you so much for having me here today to visit, Ofelia! I am popping in to tell everyone that I have a new short story out for the holidays.
Surfacing Again is part of my contemporary Celtic myth collection and is a short sapphic Christmas story. Like the others in the collection it’s based on an old British tale that has some connection...

Update | Cheers and Fireworks
“You never achieve success unless you like what you are doing.”
― Dale Carnegie
I guess this will be the final update for the year. I started 2021 by saying I was gonna write 250.000 words, and I have. I reached my goal on November 11th
So far this year, I’ve written 270.463 words. I’m not saying they’ve all been good words because of course they haven’t, but I’ve written them. I’ve gone up early almost every morning this year to write – unless I’ve had to go to the dreaded day job. I’ve still ...

Guest Post | Lion’s Hero by Alexis Woods
Today, Alexis Woods is here to share an excerpt from her story, Lion’s Hero. Lion’s Hero was first published in 2014 but has now been revised and expanded.
Ari peered past the guard as he made his way to the end of the line. Excitement filled him as he saw the area jammed with bodies, lights flickering, humans singing, and… is that dancing? The humans were pressed so close together, jumping and writhing, waving their arms, Ari wasn’t quite sure what he was looking at. On the far sid...

Guest Post | A Handful of Joy by Pat Henshaw
Today, Pat Henshaw is on a visit. We will have some guests throughout the month, not only on Fridays, to get us in the mood for the holidays. Pat is here to share a little from her story, A Handful of Joy, which was released yesterday. Welcome, Pat!
Writing is a strange occupation.
Most of us, if faced with an honest job description, would probably turn it down. According to WikiHow, this might be an accurate help wanted posting for a fiction writer position:
Do you like to create people who m...

Giveaway | December
The last giveaway of the year! I don’t know what we’re gonna do with giveaways next year – if we’re gonna do giveaways – we’ll see. I can’t believe another year has gone by, but it has, and there’s been ups and downs, but mostly I feel fortunate for having had as much time to write as I have. It has mostly resulted in stories by Holly Day, but I’ve had fun.
Okay, enough about the year. There will be other posts for that later on
We have three stories this month – Once in a Snowstorm, Trapped,...
