Wrap-Up | October

Another month has gone by, and this time we’re doing the Wrap-Up Wednesday on a Tuesday because we’re having a guest tomorrow. I haven’t had time to read much toward the end of the month, but I did carve out some reading time for myself at the beginning.

Pressure Head (The Plumber’s Mate Mysteries 1) by J.L. Merrow

I started the month with a re-read. It’s been many years since I first read Pressure head, but I enjoyed it a lot, maybe even more this time than I did the first. Tom is a great chara...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | A Tricky Situation by Ellie Thomas

Trick or Treat

Thank you so much again, Ofelia, for having me as your guest today! I’m Ellie Thomas, and I write Historical Gay Romance. In this blog, I’ll be chatting about A Tricky Situation, my contribution to JMS Books’ Trick or Treat Halloween stories.

It was a real treat (if you’ll excuse the pun) to join in with all the other JMS authors who took part in this. However, given I write historical stories, a Halloween idea had to be handled slightly differently. Since my story is set in late 18th century B...

Guest Post | October by Candlelight by K.L. Noone

Trick or Treat

Today, K.L. Noone is here to share a little about her Trick or Treat story, October by Candlelight, which is released today. Welcome!

Happy October—and thanks to Ofelia for letting me stop by to share an autumn-themed new release!

“October by Candlelight” is roughly 12,000 words of soft cozy (but a little spicy!) m/m romance—all about moving in together, and about autumn candles and decorations, and about learning to listen. Plus some pumpkin cinnamon rolls!

Autumn is my favorite season—full o...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | Queer, historical, paranormal romance audiobook relaunch!

Guest-Post

Thank you so much Ofelia, for inviting me to visit today! I’m doing some guests post around and about to let people know the 1920s London Border Magic trilogy has relaunched in audio. The books are now available wide rather than just with Audible.

Trilogy

If you’ve never read or listened to any of my books before, I usually describe them as paranormal, historical and queer. There’s a scattering of contemporary short stories and a couple of novellas that are lacking in screaming monsters from beyond th...

Wrap-Up Wednesday | September

Another month has gone by, can you believe it?! I can’t 🤯 I’ve been dreading writing this post. In the last two weeks, I haven’t gone near a book that hasn’t been my own. I’ve been panic-writing, editing, dealt with The Dragon Next Door (Holly’s) release.

It’s been hectic, but I’m really close to pulling this off, guys! Deadline is tomorrow, and I’m just gonna read through How to Soothe a Dragon one more time before sending it in. Then Holly will have 12 releases this year. I think I deserve a ...

Guest Post | The Dragon Next Door by Holly Day

Hello, everyone! Holly here 😆 Remember last month when I was here telling you about how I failed to write a story? Well, I did it again. Want to know how I screwed up The Dragon Next Door??

For a story to be complete, according to ‘the experts’ it needs a minimum of five characters. For a skeleton of a story, you need a protagonist, an antagonist, a mentor, a sidekick, and a sceptic. Do you agree?

Of course not, but experts are experts, and we better do as they say 🙄

I have two protagonists. A...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | A Marriage for Three by Ellie Thomas

Guest-Post

Thank you so much, Ofelia, for having me as your guest today! I’m Ellie Thomas, and I write Historical Gay Romance. In this blog, I’ll be chatting about my latest story with JMS Books, released on September 4th. It’s a novella entitled A Marriage for Three.

I first got the idea for this story from a submission call about ‘moresomes’ or relationships between more than two people. As I write historical romance, what sprang to my mind was a trio, at the heart of which is a settled gay relationshi...

Fridays at Ofelia’s | He Wears My Ring by Iyana Jenna

Interview

Today, Iyana Jenna is here for an interview and to talk about her new release, He Wears My Ring. Welcome, Jenna.

Thank you so much, Ofelia, for the chance to be a guest on your blog! Here is a little bit about me.

If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

Wishy-washy, envious, impatient. Hmm, why are they all negative?

Do you prefer to work with a publisher or to self-publish? Why?

With a publisher. It’s rather difficult for me to self-publish especially through Amazon...

Cover Reveal | Ghost Dater

Guess what?! Yes, it’s cover time!!! This morning, I stumbled out of bed with my phone in my hand – as always. Squinting in the dark on the way down to the coffee maker, I checked my inbox, and there it was! Ghost Dater.

A while back, there was a call for short Halloween stories. I figured I should write one. I was doing well with Holly’s stories, had plenty of time to deadline, and Halloween is always fun. To say I regret writing it would be a lie, but Holly is pretty stressed about the deadlin...

#WhatToReadWednesday | Native American Day

It’s time for #WhatToReadWednesday and I was out of ideas, like completely out. I thought maybe I should do a list of my favourite autumn books or something like that, but I draw a blank, and when I draw a blank, I google holidays. It’s easy if you have a holiday of some sort to recommend books for. Only the holidays for today are Make a Hat Day, Felt Hat Day, and Yom Kippur and none of those helped me.

Then I saw that on the fourth Friday in September it’s Native American Day. I’m in Sweden, a...
