Read Around the Rainbow | Your Ideal Writing Shack

ReadAroundTheRainbow

This is the first month of the Read Around the Rainbow webring thing 😄 We’re a bunch of authors who blog on the same topic. You’ll see the links to the others below, and if you click on the links by the image in the sidebar, you’ll be taken to someone’s site.

Where Would Your Ideal Writing Shack Be?

That’s the question we’re all answering this month! When I’m frustrated with the people around me, I always tell my husband that we need to move to a deserted island where no one can reach us or come...

Cover Reveal | The Cake Shop

We have a cover!!! The Cake Shop will be out on April 9th, and it’s another one of those either-or stories. This time, we got to pick from either Rain or Shine – I picked Rain.

The Cake Shop is in the same series as Cup o’ Sugar and The Drunken Dog. They’re loosely linked, so you don’t have to have read one story to read the others, but it’s about people who belong to the same werewolf pack.

York is a member of the Halfhide pack, and after a run-in with a rivalling pack, he takes refuge in a bak...

Read Around the Rainbow

ReadAroundTheRainbow

You might have noticed there is a new Read Around the Rainbow image in the sidebar. It’s a fun little project we’re starting this month. On the last Friday of the month, there will be a blog post. I’ll alternate between Ofelia and Holly depending on what’s going on, and if it’s a topic that fits, I might do posts on both, we’ll see.

It’s a webring, and I’m blaming my youth (snort) here because I had no idea whatsoever what a webring was. I think the lovely Ally (A.L. Lester) started talking abo...

#WhatToReadWednesday | Green Reads

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up, so I thought I’d do some green reads. I did that a few years ago, so there might be some repeats, but what are you gonna do? 😆

I’ll Be Your Drill, Soldier by Crystal Rose

I should reread this, but I’m afraid to. I loved it when I first read it many, many years ago, and now I fear I won’t. I remember laughing a lot and then some moments made me want to cry. One day I might dare read it again.

I'll be you drill, soldierRyan Gracin had a good life until he told his parents he was gay. Since t...

Smashwords Read an Ebook Week Sale

booksToday is the last day of Smashwords Read an Ebook Week Sale, and my books are 50% off, most of them at least. I won’t list them all here because that would be too tedious LOL

The Drunken Dog, which was released a couple of weeks ago, is also 50% off, so if you haven’t had the time to grab it yet, now’s a great time!

Holly’s books are 50% off too – you’ll find them here.

The Drunken Dog

Guest Post | The World of Hellbound by Alexa Piper

Today, we have Alexa Piper on a visit and she’s here to tell us about her Hellbound series. Welcome, Alexa!

The writer brain converts whatever it can get its synapses on into story, into whole worlds. One of the ones my writer brain especially enjoyed creating is Lucy’s and Nelly’s world in Hellbound (don’t let the names fool you; they are both guys, and one’s the Devil. He explains why he goes by Lucy in book 1.)

Hellbound is a world in which magic is a part of reality and everyday life. Peop...

Guest Post | London Calling by A.L. Lester

Guest-Post

We have the lovely A.L. Lester on a visit today! Welcome, Ally!

Hello everyone! Thanks so much to Ofelia for letting me drop in today. My mission this week is to tell everyone about the release of London Calling, the box set of my 1920s London Border Magic series. It comprises Lost in Time, Shadows on the Border & The Hunted and the Hind. And I have a giveaway!

Lost in Time was the first book I had accepted for publication, by JMS Books in 2017. I’d tried self-pubbing it the year before and it...

Update | Getting Ahead?

The secret of getting ahead is getting started.

— Mark Twain

typewriter-3711589_640

Getting ahead? Last month, I wrote that if you only gave me a month, I’d be halfway done with Holly’s stories for 2022 – yeah, that didn’t happen. I thought I’d write Holly’s June story quick and easy. That quick and easy story is now over 40k.

I didn’t write it all this month, I’d started before, hence the belief that it was gonna be quick and easy. I only needed to wrap it up… that was 21.748 words ago. But! That means that I’ve n...

Guest Post | Five Year Author Anniversary

Guest-Post

Today, the lovely Nell is back to visit the blog, and it’s a very special day for her – she’s celebrating five years as an author 🥳

Hello again, it’s me. Nell. I’m back here at the lovely Ofelia’s place, but this time, I’m not here to talk about a new release, but an old one. But before I start, let me just blow some cyber kisses to our lovely hostess for her generosity. ❤

So, I’m here to talk about an old book, and not just any old book but my first ever published story, Unconditionally. Since I...

Giveaway | March

Book Giveaway

It’s giveaway time!!! This month, we’re having an alien theme. Last year, Holly released There Will Be Aliens in March to celebrate Extraterrestrial Abductions Day. I loved writing that story, it’s silly alien smut through and through LOL.

It Doesn’t Translate is similar. I didn’t realise how similar they are. The characters are different, the aliens aren’t the same, and the setting is different. But both of them have fated mates, and both of them have problems in reading each other’s emotions...
