#WhatToReadWednesday | British Gay Romance

Tomorrow, it’s National Tea Day, so I thought we’d do some UK books for this month’s #WhatToReadWednesday. So grab a cup (I’ll pour coffee in mine, but we can pretend it’s tea) and let’s cherish the beautiful word choices and the spelling of British English. I bloody love it.

Playing Chicken: A St Dwynwen’s Day Short Story

First out is Playing Chicken by A.L. Lester because other than lovely British things, it also has chickens – all books should have chickens. It’s short, and it’s cute!

Easter Sale!!!

Easter Sale

I hope you’re all having a lovely Easter. In Sweden, as with every holiday, we celebrate on the Eve, so we’re already over it here LOL. I had my mum and sister with her children over, so there were lots of sugar-hyped children which means that I now want to curl up in a corner and sleep for a week. But, perhaps I should reward myself a book instead? Over at JMS there’s an Easter Sale in full swing – 40% off on all ebooks, and it ends tomorrow, so don’t leave it too long before you hop over the...

Guest Post | London in the Rain by Ellie Thomas

Guest-Post

Thank you so much, Ofelia, for having me as your guest again today! (You’re always welcome 🙂 ) I’m Ellie Thomas, and I write Gay Historical Romance. In this blog, I’m chatting about London in the Rain, my story for the April Rain or Shine submissions call for JMS Books.

When I decided to pick the Rain option, I immediately thought of London (for some strange reason!) and, after exploring the city during the Elizabethan era in my Valentine’s story, The Spice of Life, it was fun to move five cent...

Release Day | The Cake Shop

It’s release day!!! The Cake Shop is a short story I wrote for JMS Books’ Rain or Shine call. It’s one of those calls where we get to pick one or the other and write a story about it.

Since I did The Drunken Dog for the last either-or call, I figured I’d continue with someone else from the Halfhide pack. This time we get to follow York through a rainy April night.

He ends up with one of my favourite kinds of characters to write – a slightly neurotic, grumpy bear shifter. And on top of everythin...

Update | Clearly, I’m out of my mind

“All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.”

– Earl Nightingale

typewriter-3711589_640

It’s time for an update, and clearly, I’m out of my mind. I’m looking at my list of deadlines and wondering what the heck I was thinking when I thought I could get through them all.

I’ve submitted Holly’s June story, so I’m halfway through her deadlines. The main problem is that from here on out, I have two deadlines a month except when we hit July, then I have three. And yes, four o...

Guest Post | A Well-Functioning Cubicle

Guest-PostHello everyone! I’m here as Holly today because yesterday, A Well-Functioning Cubicle was released. Yay! It’s a short contemporary story about Jace and Paxton. An office romance! I don’t think I’ve written an office romance before.

It was one of those stories that poured out of me. Some stories are a struggle, every sentence a battle, and some stories you don’t really know what happened when you type The End. It’s like you’re under a spell and everything pours out of you without you having to do...

Giveaway | April

Book Giveaway

Giveaway time!!! Yay! This month last year, Holly released Blown Away. It’s a short story written for Big Wind Day, so it’s a windy little tale. Since one of the main characters is a bear shifter, we’re having us a bear theme for this month’s giveaway.

One of the favourite stories that I’ve written as Ofelia is Elevator Pitch. I love it. It has a bear shifter who gets stuck in an elevator with a claustrophobic bat shifter LOL.

These stories are pretty similar. As we’ve established, both have b...

Wrap-Up Wednesday | March

I’ve been bad at keeping track of what I’ve read this month. I usually try to write the titles down, so I don’t forget, but this month I haven’t. Therefore I’ve just spent some time scrolling through my kindle app, another reader app, and my library app to see what I’ve been up to 😄

A Penny for Your Thoughts by K.L. Noone

This is so cute. It’s a short little story and I love Averet’s shop, it’s a place where I’d love to sit in a corner and just watch. Cosy and fun!

Guest-Post

Today we have Ally Lester on a visit. They’re here to talk about their new release, Out of Focus. Welcome Ally!

Out of Focus: Welsh Place Names

Enemies to lovers, a broken wrist, hurt-comfort and pining. A short contemporary gay romance set in a little Welsh theatre.

Hurt-comfort

Hello there everyone! Thank you so much to Ofelia for letting me drop in today to tell you all about my recent release, Out of Focus! It’s a bit of a departure from my usual stories because it’s contemporary! Yes! I wrote a contem...

Guest Post | The Blood Witch by Holly Day

Guest-Post

Holly is stealing a spot on the blog because it’s release day!!! The Blood Witch is out today. It’s a story we wrote for National I am in Control Day.

Conri is a werewolf, he’s also the king of Northbridge, and he thinks he has things under control – he doesn’t. Someone is trying to take him down by planting his DNA on a dead body, but Conri has no idea who.

Nick is a blood witch which means he can change the getup of blood. He can copy DNA and transform his own or someone else’s blood into som...
