steinerfrommars:

What I’m doing:

Island

An ongoing comics magazine with tons of creators around the world. My blood manga brother Brandon Graham had this idea more than a year and a half ago and, since then, I’ve been helping him coordinate this wonderful project.

Here are some of the creators involved:

Michael DeForge, Kate Craig, Ludroe, Simon Roy, E.K. Weaver, Farel
Dalrymple, Jose Domingo, Johnnie Christmas, Fil Barlow, Gael Bertrand,
Lando, Amy Clare, Lin Visel, Onta,  Malachi Ward, Matt Sheean, Will
Kirkby, Helen Mair, Ken Niimura, Xulia Vicente, Roque Romero, Luis Yang, Jose Domingo and moar.

I’m also writing and drawing a story there called ID, about three people considering a body transplantation. ID is 60 pages long and will be realeased split in two chapters, in the first and second issues of the magazine.

#1 will be released on July 15

(In which, my kraken Kelly Sue is including a prose piece too, that I’ll  illustrate)

#2 will be released on August 19

8house: Mirror

Mirror is a four issues tale Hwei Lim and I are preparing together for the 8house sci-fantasy shared universe.

This delirious playground starts with the two first installments of  8house: Arclight, to be released this month and the next, by Brandon Graham and Marian Churchland. Arclight will be followed by 8house:Kiem (#1 /4) by Brandon and Xurxo Penalta and then by 8house:Yorris (#1 /4 and #2 /4) by Helen Maier and Fil Barlow. Just after, from November to February, our 8house: Mirror (#1, #2, #3, #4) will be out alltogether, and then the proper endings to the other three minis. The order for the releases was made to adjust the creators schedules, so you can get the most beautiful books.

At the same time From Under Mountains will happen sumultaneously: an ongoing series that also belong to 8house by Marian, Claire Gibson and Sloane Leong, and really, it looks magnificent.

We define our Mirror story like this:

Within the 8house universe an old conflict is arising :What is worthy of being human? Mirror follows  the tribulations of a terrorist talking dog, an idealist mage and a heroic lab rat fighting their quest for freedom.

Pretty Deadly

Yep, this precious book I’ve been creating with my soul sister Kelly Sue DeConnick and the help of Jordie Bellaire.

Pretty Deadly will be back in October, at last, for a second arc set during The Great War. Stay tuned for previews and lots of stuff related reaaaally soon.

You can follow us on our tumblr

You can read the first volume in english, spanish, russian, italian, and french.

We have some BPAL oil perfumes.

And some offset limited prints available.

Phew, that’s all for now, I think. Thanks for helping me do the comics I want to do, with your precious support. I’m a lucky one.

YESSSS!

The whole core of Big Trouble is that its lead is a stupid white American who thinks he's The Hero. That role doesn't make sense on Dwayne Johnson.

That is a good point. Wang is the real hero. hmmmm I would like it if Jack is in it with Johnson as another trucker.

I heard talk of a Big Trouble in Little China remake. Thoughts? Also, Jillian Tamaki is incredible. Agreed?

I did hear about that. I do enjoy a Dwayne Johnson movie & the sceenplay being worked on by

Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz  who worked on (#1 in our hearts)

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. isss something.

It’d be hard to out Big trouble in little China what john carpenter and his dudes did with the original movie though. . The Assault on Precinct 13 remake was rough.

They didn’t even use my favorite line of the movie where they offer Bishop ( played by African-American actor  Austin Stoker ) coffee.

[Offering coffee] Black?

: For over thirty years.

But Big trouble. hmmm I didn’t even read the recent comic even though it was drawn by

Brian Churilla whose work I think is great. (although I would love to do something in that world– but maybe King city is my Big trouble/Repo man fan comic already) – I still wish they’d give Snake Pliskin to Prophet homie Giannis to do up– I think a Ghost of Mars comic could be rad too.

I’m sure I’ll see the new movie eventually but I won’t expect it to touch my love of the original.- I want Kurt Russell &

Dennis Dun. I basically want a Big trouble xmas special with Dwayne Jonson hosting. He could play the Pork chop express.

Anyway yes.

And yeah, Agreed. Jillian is a seriously amazing cartoonist. Me and my pal Robin did a talk with her here if you haven’t heard it.

how many pages is arclight gonna be??? also what are your thoughts on butter statues?? will there be any butter statues in future comics of yours?? did you know that they wash the butter in water before they make the butter statues?? I just think thats fas

Each issue is like 28 pages, with 21 to 23 pages of the main thing and then some back up stuff. the first Arclight story in 8house is 4 issues but only 2 run in a row.

And I didn’t even know about butter statues. This will take some time to adjust…
