In the Darkest Powers trilogy, was your plan always for Chloe and Derek to get together? The first book focused so much on Simon, and most of the second book seemed more like Derek and Chloe growing their friendship. Did something happen between the first

When I started the Summoning, Simon was my intended love interest, with no triangle. Derek was just his difficult brother. By the end of the Summoning, I realized it wasn’t that simple :)

BETRAYALS - listed on your Canadian publisher's website, but not your American's (yet). Is the US getting their own local edition, or an imported edition (like THE MASKED TRUTH was)?

Yep, it is. It should be up for sale on the US sites now. Short version is that there shouldn’t be any issue for consumers–it’ll be online and in stores as usual. Longer explanation is that I’m launching a new mystery series (starting with City of the Lost) at a new mystery-centric US publisher (St Martin’s Minotaur), which meant that adding 2 books to my Cainsville series with my current US publisher (Penguin Random House US) is contractually complicated and the easy solution was just to let Penguin Random House Canada publish Betrayals and Cainsville 5 in all of North America. Yep, weirdly complicated publishing fun :)

Hi Kelley! I've been reading your books for eleven years, love the worlds you create. Sad to find I can't buy them all as audiobooks in Canada :( odd inconsistencies with Otherworld, you can get Bitten but not Stolen etc. Do you know if these will become a

I thought I’d gotten this straightened out–I know it was an issue in the UK too, and I wonder if it got fixed there but not here. Let me investigate!

Strange question! I was rereading the Darkest Powers series and was making mental notes of locations mentioned. At Lyle House they went to the community pool a block away, in TS and TA they hide out in a warehouse nearby, Lauren mentions meeting up with th

My original plan was to set DP in Toronto. I ended up moving it to Buffalo for larger plot purposes, but that meant that while I’ve been to Buffalo many times, I’m not familiar with it enough to get down to street detail, the way I do with things set in Toronto. So it’s all made up :)
