International Dayton Peace Prize Shortlists - Publishing Perspectives

Panzer says, I haven't seen any advertising for the contest. I haven't seen any advertising for the contest.
Panzer's travels in the Catosphere today took him to the Publishing Perspectives site. There our adventuresome kitty found a post about an international writing contest.
According to Porter Anderson's post, almost no one has heard about this contest and those who do don't know what it's about. So, he does a deep dive into it and explains the contest's origin and this year's shortlists of nominees for the prizes.
Panzer says, "This little kitty has never heard of it either, but he has heard of some of the books on the shortlists."
Note: This is a long post. Bring a glass of lemonade to drink and pick your own snack to eat while you read.

Panzer made a trip to the to the Writer Beware site today. There with a little digging in the posts our illustrious kitty found one about bad for writers contract phrasing.
At the beginning of the post Victoria Strauss says this is a slightly re-written post which has appeared before. The post addresses six "assumptions" authors should never make about contracts they're asked to sign. Links to other posts with contract information are also included in the post.
Panzer says, "This little kitty says there's good contract information in here that every writer should be familiar with."
Note: This is a long medium length post. Bring a cup of tea and a muffin to snack on while you read.

Washington State Supreme Court Rules on Amazon Pandemic Price-Gouging - Publishers Weekly

Panzer says, This post is about as long as the news brief. This post is about as long as the news brief.
Panzer found a short news brief at the Publishers Weekly site.

As the headline says the Washington State Supreme Court has ruled the class action lawsuit against Amazon for price-gouging meets the criteria under the state's Consumer Protection Act.
Panzer says, "There's a link to a much longer announcement about the court's decision and the lawsuit included in the news brief post."
Note: The news brief is short and you won't need anything to snack on while you read it. If you plan to follow the included link to the longer information post, you'll need to decide what to bring to snack on while you read there.

A Monday Panzerism

 Panzer on showing love:
I gave Mom a dead mouse today.I left it on her pillow so she'd see it when she woke up.
Then ...
Panzer says, That really hurts. That really hurts.*
She let What's His Name have it
and ...
he threw it in the garbage can outside.
Humans just don't know the value of love gifts.
