Erica Verrillo's list includes 45 free to enter writing contests. There are contests for fiction, nonfiction, flash fiction, poetry, and emergency money needs.

Scotland's Highland Book Prize Names Sally Huband It's Winner - Publishing Perspectives

Panzer made a stop at the Publishing Perspectives site.
 There our traveling kitty boy found Porter Anderson's post about the 2023 winner of Scotland's Highland Book Prize. The post explains the criteria for the prize and who the supporters of it are. It also includes links to information about the winner, the prize and the supporters.
 Panzer says, "This little kitty doesn't remember ever hearing about this prize before."

Teachers College Press Signs with Mare Nostrum for Int'l Distro - Publishers Weekly

44 Outstanding Writers Workshops and Conferences in October 2024 - Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity

Interesting workshops and conferences here.
Today Panzer made a trip to the Publishing ... and Other Forms of Insanity site. There our little kitty pilot found a post about October writing conferences and workshops.
 Erica Verrillo's post has a list of conferences and workshops which focus on help writing fiction, nonfiction, novels, articles, short stories, and poetry. There are also editor and agent pitch sessions available. Some are online and some are in-person. Be sure to read the guidelines before you register.
 Panzer says, "Be sure to read the registration dates too. One is already past and some others are coming very soon."
 Note: As always with a long post, it's up to you to decide what to bring to snack on while you read.
