Little Girl Follower Story

I was walking speedily down a bike trail as I so love to take  good long and sunshine-y walks with the Lord when I heard a little girl call out to her daddy, “Yes, I know what I’m doing Dad! Follow me!”

Cute, adorable, and funny, don’t you think? When it came to the little innocent interaction between the girl and her daddy as they enjoyed each other’s company, yes. But isn’t it a tragedy and aren’t correction and repentance needed when God’s children act just like the little girl did with God o...

Five Minutes of Kindness

I met a man checking out of my hotel and asked him something I can’t even remember to which he replied a loved one had just died. Then he shared about the death of another loved one. In less than five minutes time I spent with him before he left the hotel, I told him how sorry I was, chatted briefly, prayed for him, and gave him a Gospel tract. Why do I tell you this?

Because I spent less than 5 minutes of my life showing someone who was suffering the love of Jesus and kindness in a world in whi...

Welcome, I Love You!

I have known women over the years who have gone absolutely all out when it comes to being hostesses whereby they have done anything and everything imaginable to host people in their homes. From scrubbing the house clean to food shopping to cooking and baking to buying flowers and gifts to planning activities and events and inviting others over to join them to getting their own selves prepared in the way of haircuts, outfits, makeup, etc. and on and on they have gone in their exceeding efforts to...

Be Faithful!

No matter how little nor how big you believe the service to which the Lord calls you day by day, no matter how greatly significant or only a tiny bit significant you believe His work to which He calls you may seem in your eyes, no matter what others may think whether greatly or poorly about the tasks to which the Lord calls you, please, friend, BE FAITHFUL with whatever the Lord’s will for you is as you walk down the pathway He sets before you. Be diligent to do what He calls you to do, and may ...

Niceness Anyone?

“She’s not such a nice person,” I thought after speaking with a woman from a place of business. That isn’t the reason for writing this message, mind you. The reason is this.

The real problem wasn’t ultimately her lack of niceness. We can’t control what others do. It was my poor response to her. And it wasn’t just my poor response to her. It was that I have a long history of responding to not-nice people with not-niceness myself. I would even go a step farther. I have responded over the years to ...

Too Tired to Love

When the Lord reminded me to love someone I needed to show love toward, my answer was immediate – and weary.

“I’m too tired to love,” I told him exhaustedly in my heart.

Oh, how very tired I was! Tired of a trial I was going through. Tired of the emotions. Tired of challenges. Tired from needing more sleep. Just plain old tired. Obviously God would be okay with my reasoning. I could hold back a little on the love thing, right?

I know God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts an...

Update & Prayer Request

It’s early morning. I’m sitting just outside my hotel room door in Virginia outside Washington, DC, with my laptop set upon a little table with my portable chair and paralyzed ministry dog Miss Mercy just behind me and special needs ministry dog Gracie on a whole bunch of pillows and a blanket further back in the hotel room. The summer temperature is perfect, the sun is already shining, it’s peaceful and quiet for which I’m extraordinarily thankful considering the on-and-off-again-hotel-safety-i...

The Man I Wouldn’t Love

I started crossing paths with a man on a periodic basis in a certain setting who responded to my attempt to be warm, kind, polite, and friendly with rudeness, anger, intimidation, and an emphatic demand that I keep my distance. I prayed for him a bit and made a weak short-lived attempt to have love toward him in my heart and to be humble and respectful when I crossed paths with him. I resolved not to fall into fear but to cleave instead to love.

But in very little time my little human effort at ...
