The Barclays on DraftKings
First off, congratulations to bbski1987. He bested KevinT by nine DraftKings points to take down last week’s Future of Fantasy Golf Tour contest. He now sits at 10th in the standings, primed for the stretch run.
Would also like to shout out sixbits for being the first to 10 Top 5s on the season. Impressive stuff.
Now we head into the FedExCup Playoffs. I want that to matter a little more for the FoF Golf Tour, so the leader in Strokes Gained: DraftKings during the next four events will earn themselves a prize. Good luck everyone!
DraftKings Value Play of the Week
Kevin Chappell ($6,700)…With Tiger out of the equation and Rory still resting his ankle, some one needs to step up from Team Nike. Chappell is that guy this week. He’s a par 70 specialist and has no problems taking on a strong field. His stats on shorter courses also check out, so don’t sleep on this flat-billed chap.

Wyndham Championship Fantasy Preview
With the PGA Championship in the books, we’ve completed our four-pack of majors for the season. The next big event will be the FedExCup Playoffs. First, we head to Greenboro, North Carolina, for the final tournament of the 2014-15 regular season.
The course is Sedgefield Country Club. It’s a classical par 70 track that plays just barely over 7,100 yards. Not lengthy by any means. The shorter hitters in the field may still hit a lot of drivers but many will opt to club down on plenty of holes.
The course requires shot shaping off the tee. Much more so than most weeks on TOUR. There is really no advantage to length or accuracy. It will require an all-around game to contend this week.
Check out the Fantasy Golfanac or last year’s Wyndham Preview for more course and tournament information.
Players to Watch
Brandt Snedeker… If you wanted to design the perfect course for Sneds to flourish, it would probably be on the West Coast, played on Poa Annua greens. But other than that, Sedgefield is right up his alley. It’s a short par 70 with greens that are easy to hit. If you give a mouse a cookie, he will ask for a glass of milk. If you give a Snedeker an easy green to hit, he will make his fair share of birdie rolls.
Bill Haas… A Wake Forest guy who loves coming back home. Great course history and this week’s course specialist.
Will Wilcox… He’s a fan favorite and a favorite of mine on twitter. I’ve dabbled in the usage of yellow balls in real life as well. I don’t do it regularly, but I’m also not against it. He’s #1 in the all-around rating. Keep on using him.
Austin Cook… A youngster that just keeps on racking up the top finishes. Kind of like Wilcox above, you can keep firing him out there until he fails you more than once.
20/20 Club… Looking at current form over the past eight stroke-play events, only 10 golfers in the field have gained over 20 strokes during that time. Luckily, Carl Pettersson is one of them as he happens to be a course horse as well. Call me crazy, but he may actually end up as my One-and-Done pick this week.
Justin Thomas… His early PGA TOUR returns on par 70 tracks are pretty awful. That is the only thing that is holding me back from going all in on JT. He won an Amateur Golf event here in 2009 and finished runner-up the next year. He’s got some good vibes entering the week. I really like him this week, even if his par 70 numbers are not in line…yet.
Scott Langley… I don’t usually fall for the FedExCup bubble nonsense, but Langley is right there and also in great form. Because of that good recent form, I’m willing to take a few shares of this Illini product.
Brooks Koepka… He’s finally priced accordingly on DraftKings, so I will likely be off the Koep-train this week. There are better tracks to invest in Brooks as the top-priced option. His incredible distance gets muted just a bit this week. I think it’s a reasonable mini-fade on DraftKings.
Ben Martin… I apologize for calling out his Clemson Tigers as an SEC school in the podcast this week. It was a harmless, honest mistake. That being said, Benji is great down South on bermudagrass. His recent form is poor to say the least, but it’s time to get back on the train!
Daniel Berger… Another Southern lad whose performance suffered as soon as we left Seminole country. We are returning back to familiar territory for the Bergermeister. His price is low and his ownership should be relatively low. Take advantage while you can.
Jerry Kelly… Don’t sleep on the veteran when it comes to playing on a shorter par 70 layout. His track record here backs it up. He may come in really under the radar this week and is probably good for a top 25.
Wyndham Championship Cheatsheet… Head over to Daily Fantasy Solutions and grab this week’s DraftKings cheatsheet for just five bucks. This includes guys that fit the stat profile, golfers that are in good form, course history, recommended cash game targets and more! I love hearing about the success people are having with the weekly DraftKings cheatsheet so check it out!

Wyndham Championship on DraftKings
What a PGA Championship! It was a tremendous tournament. Many talked about how easy the course was, but it really wasn’t that easy. The field average was more than 3/4 of a stroke over par. That puts it in standard major territory, it was just a matter or Day and Spieth lapping the field.
That’s also what happened in the Future of Fantasy Golf Tour contest. While I was busy getting last place, yes, DFL, bwil1013 was lapping the field. In fact, as the leaders made the turn on Sunday, his score would have been good enough to be leading the Millionaire Maker! He admitted that he didn’t enter the same lineup in the big GPP, so it was good to see it fade relatively. He earned himself a nice prize, so hit me up at futureoffantasy@gmail.com or on twitter for your prize details.
He’s not the only one putting on a clinic. Keep your eye out for the infamous A340Spotter. He finally joined the world of DraftKings about a month ago and is putting up strong finishes early on. He should be near the top of the FoF Tour leaderboard once he qualifies.
The Tour event raised its max entries from 50 up to 75 so comment below if you need an invite!
DraftKings Value Play of the Week
David Toms ($7,600)… The savvy veteran arrives in great form, top 20s in two of his last three. That’s great, but what we’re really excited for is the course history. His last six trips to Sedgefield CC have yielded five top 25s, including a runner-up finish in 2010. Boom goes the dynamite!

PGA Championship Fantasy Preview
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the final major of the season. No more big ones until next April at Augusta National. That means the final Milly Maker of the year on DraftKings and the final shot at 2015 glory for these professional golfers.
The PGA Championship returns to Whistling Straits this week. It last hosted in 2010 as well as 2004. Those results can be glanced at but should really be taken with a grain of salt. The course sets up around 7,500 yards with 72 as the par.
Have a listen to this week’s Fantasy Golf Happy Hour podcast for more course information. Also take a look at the Fantasy Golfanac to get some additional research.
Players to Watch
Jordan Spieth… The dreams of the grand slam are over, but three outta four ain’t too shabby either. I’ve got nothing bad to say about the best golfer in the world.
Rickie Fowler… Playing on bentgrass again this week, which means you fire him up with confidence. Don’t believe me? Just check out his bentgrass performance.
Louis Oosthuizen… If you read my debut at RotoGrinders, you’d know Shrek is my specialist of the week. He lives for these majors and a links-style course also helps his case. In fact, he’s my One-and-Done this week due to my selections available.
Dustin Johnson… Redemption time for mister Johnson. Luckily the infmaous bunker is now a hospitality tent.
20/20 Club… The 20/20 club takes a break due to lack of in-depth course history. I could use PGA Championship history in general, but that’s just not the same.
Marc Leishman… If the wind picks up, there is nothing to block it, and that is where Leishman feasts. Have to take a look at him for that very reason.
Jim Furyk… He does not have fond memories of Whistling Straits and he’s not afraid to admit it. That could be a diversion tactic, but I’m taking the bait and avoiding Ol’ Jimmy this week.
Brooks Koepka… Just a pure stud in the making. His current season results are just the beginning. Taking home a major trophy would be a good way to launch into stardom.
Bubba Watson… Bubbs has not taken a liking to links courses in the past. Sure he finished runner-up here last time, but he can easily get frustrated without trees to use as an aiming/visualization tool. He’s got some of the best chances to finish on the podium, but he’s also got way too high of a probability finishing outside the top 50.
Emiliano Grillo… Sometimes you have to get in before the iron is hot. The young Argentine is en fuego all across the world this year. Six top 25s on the Euro Tour and instant success in limited PGA TOUR starts. I’ve got good vibes about this kid and I’m hoping he makes one of those “out of nowhere” splashes onto the big stage this week!
Tyrrell Hatton… He’s not a character from Game of Thrones, he’s a 23-year-old Englishman in great form overseas. Still looking for his first breakthrough, so just like Grillo above this is about getting in before the crowd arrives.
Phil Mickelson… So out of form but he’s gained the most strokes over the field at Whistling Straits in two tries. Unfortunately it’s not 2004 anymoore.
PGA Championship Cheatsheet… Head over to Daily Fantasy Solutions and grab this week’s DraftKings cheatsheet for just five bucks. This includes guys that fit the stat profile, golfers that are in good form, course history, recommended cash game targets and more! PGA Championship DraftKings Picks
Like I mentioned last week, these weekly DraftKings posts will be shorter from now on. I also mentioned I have a big announcement coming… I will now be contributing to RotoGrinders with a weekly column called Searching for a Specialist.
A lot of work goes into this new article, so check it out over at RotoGrinders.
I can’t leave this space completely empty so I still want to throw out a weekly DraftKings value play.
This week the value play is Kevin Na ($7,100). He’s short off the tee, but he’s not intimidated by long courses. You can credit his great long-iron play. He’s great at taking advantage of par 5s too. In fact, only Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, and Sergio Garcia have gained more strokes on par-72 courses over the past two years.

WGC-Bridgestone Fantasy Preview
After a couple weeks of going in relatively blind in terms of course history, it’s nice to head to Firestone Country Club this week for the WGC-Bridgestone. Thee course horse, eight-time winner Tiger Woods won’t be in attendance. Around 75 of the top golfers in the world will be tackling this 7,400 yard par 70 track.
Have a listen to this week’s Fantasy Golf Happy Hour podcast for more course information. Also take a look at the Fantasy Golfanac to get some additional research.
Players to Watch
Jordan Spieth… He’s not number one in my rankings this week, but he defies all odds every week it seems. You might expect a letdown after all that build up to a Grand Slam only to miss out at The Open.
Rickie Fowler… Playing on bentgrass again this week, which means you fire him up with confidence. Don’t believe me? Just check out his bentgrass performance.
Louis Oosthuizen… A pair of top 10s in four tries here. He shows up on the biggest stages and this certainly qualifies. He never comes without risk though, so proceed optimistically but also cautiously.
Dustin Johnson… Only two top 10s in five tries here. You’d expect a lot better. However, he didn’t play this one last year as his suspension/sabbatical/time off started this week. Even with the poor course history, he’s still bested the field average in 10 of his 16 rounds here. I’d say he’s due for a Firestone breakthrough this week and I hope you all buy tickets to the show.
20/20 Club… After some time off, the club returns this week. Who fits the mold of gaining 20+ strokes over the last eight weeks of stroke-play combined with 20+ strokes gained at Firestone since 2010? Adam Scott, Justin Rose, and Zach Johnson all fit the criteria! Guys like Furyk and Kuchar just just strokes behind when it comes to current form.
Keegan Bradley… With Rory still on the sidelines, Keegan takes the spot as top course horse in the field. He’s gained 45 strokes over the field average in his last 16 rounds. Nine of those rounds have bested the field average by three or more strokes! Got to get some Bradley exposure this week.
Matt Every… He enters this week with the worst form in the field. That is all. Don’t play him anywhere. He’s lost 14.96 strokes over his last 10 rounds ahead of this week.
Brooks Koepka… He certainly doesn’t fit in the same bucket as Every. He is en fuego and also a DFS scoring machine with his propensity to drop birdies. Top 20s in five of his last six. Yes, please!
Bubba Watson… He’s got terrible course history but like DJ has some of that top-tier upside. Boom or bust you might say. Don’t compltely ignore him but don’t lead with him.
Phil Mickelson… Another curious case of poor course history. He crushed the World Series of Golf when it was played at Firestone, including a win in 1996 followed up by two runner-up finishes. Since the course was lengthened though, we’ve seen Lefty struggle. It would be smart to avoid Phil but not all that surprising if he re-figures out the course. That would be such a Phil thing to do.
WGC-Bridgestone Cheatsheet… Head over to Daily Fantasy Solutions and grab this week’s DraftKings cheatsheet for just five bucks. This includes guys that fit the stat profile, golfers that are in good form, course history, recommended cash game targets and more! I love hearing about the success people are having with the weekly DraftKings cheatsheet so check it out!

WGC-Bridgestone Invitational DraftKings Picks
All good things must come to an end. Don’t be alarmed but this DraftKings article as we currently know it will be gone next week. I will be posting a condensed version but of course the Future of Fantasy Golf Tour will live on!
I’ve got an exciting announcement coming next week about something that will take the place of this lengthy piece. Stay tuned for that.
Now let’s have a look at DraftKings this week. I’ve taken a look at current form and course history to see what we can piece together for their $400K Drive the Green that cost just $3 to enter.
Found the Form
Danny Lee ($7700)… 4th-MC-3rd-1st-25th
Zach Johnson ($9000)… 1st-3rd-6th-72nd-5th
Robert Streb ($7500)… 18th-14th-2nd-42nd-18th
Brooks Koepka ($8400)… 18th-10th-18th-3rd-52nd
Bubba Watson ($9500)… 2nd-MC-13th-1st-MC
Billy Horschel ($8100)… 30th-25th-25th-8th-11th
Course-asauras
Keegan Bradley ($9800)… 47.235 Stokes Gained in last 16 Firestone rounds.
Jim Furyk ($8900)… 41.235 Stokes Gained in last 20 Firestone rounds.
Ryan Moore ($7600)… 17.595 Stokes Gained in last 16 Firestone rounds.
Marc Leishman ($8000)… 11.182 Stokes Gained in last 8 Firestone rounds.
Matt Kuchar ($8700)… 28.235 Stokes Gained in last 20 Firestone rounds.
Ryan Palmer ($7800)… 12.150 Stokes Gained in last 4 Firestone rounds.
Handpicked Value Plays
Ryan Palmer ($7,800) … His limited course history is fantastic, but it’s really not the selling point. He’s having one of the finest seasons of his long career, so this salary is a bargain anyway you slice it.
Marc Leishman ($8,000) … Found his way into a playoff at the Open Championship and should carry that momentum into this week. It helps that he finished on the podium here last year. Third place, to be exact.
Billy Horschel ($7,900) … He’s on one of those infamous Horschel hot streaks. Top 30s in his last six starts. Just ride the wave while you can. These things usually end with sparks.
