A reviewer on Goodreads pointed out that Mona’s tale is...

A reviewer on Goodreads pointed out that Mona’s tale is filled with moral dilemmas. And I wish I could say that as the author, I inserted them very skilfully and at the right moment just to cause a reaction. I’d sound smart, potentially a smart-ass, but still ;) you get my drift! However, I didn’t skilfully insert these dilemmas, I wish I had. They appeared on their very own.

It’s in this book, Crazy Little Thing Called Lust, that the story shifts. Changes from just a one-night stand with hot, hot sex to something real. Something… else. I truly believe that we shouldn’t be labeled. I heartily dislike the idea of being pigeon-holed. You are who you are and damn the consequences. Be you gay, submissive, straight or have a foot fetish, who knows why we are the way we are… it just is. As long as we don’t hurt another living being (in case of the Dom/sub that isn’t so easy lol) but still, let’s just live.

They say writers imbue themselves into their books and while the Naughty Nookie series is erotica and fictional, there are snippets of me in there. And this is one of those snippets… just be. Live, enjoy and love. That’s what it’s all about, right?

Heavy talk, but when better than on the first day of a brand new year. The slate is clean, let’s try not to sully it by judging? Eh?

Happy New Year x

After the revelations that sprang forth after her one night stand, Simone feels both betrayed and guilty as hell in the aftermath.  When Zane calls her, looking to take her out again, what can she say apart from, ‘Get real! And while you’re at it, get lost!’
But when Zane refuses to take her rejection and forces her to listen to his unorthodox tale, he sets Simone on to a path she never imagined impossible.
With her life changing about her, only her friends can keep her grounded.
But does she want to have her feet planted firmly on the ground?
Or is she ready for adventure?
Even if that adventure means her becoming something that goes against her every principle.

In many regards, I’m fairly confident. But there’s always some nagging doubt… Is that humanity? Simply being human or am I atelophobic? Who knows? ;)

December 31, 2013

It’s only fitting that on the last day of 2013, I talk...

It’s only fitting that on the last day of 2013, I talk about where my writing career began. With the Naughty Nookie series and to be specific, Mona’s FALL INTO LOVE.

This year has been a rollercoaster ride. I’ve written nearly 200,000 words for the series, and that’s just been in the latter half of this year. I can only imagine what next year will bring. Hopefully, double that! :) Let me just put that into perspective, the average-sized novel is 90,000 words… ;) So you can see why I’m thrilled at my writing output! And all have it has been read, reread, read, reread, sent to Beta-readers and proofed all so that my rapidly-growing audience can enjoy the Naughty Nookie series. I may be an Indie author but I do my very best to ensure that every piece of my work is as professional as can be.

Fall Into Love is a book about an average woman who falls for a not so average man. I don’t mean in looks but in lifestyle choices. And while the odds are against her, Mona realizes she’s a fighter. I like that. It appeals to me as a reader. After all, isn’t that why I decided to start writing? To write what I love to read?

Find out more about the Naughty Nookie series on my website: www.serenaakeroyd.net. As it is, I’ll leave you with the blurb of Fall Into Love… don’t forget, you can grab a copy FREE on my website, on Smashwords or on Goodreads. All the links are below.

Happy New Year my friends. Have a great night and I’ll speak to you next year ;)

Diantha Jones was born the day thousands of turkeys sacrificed their lives to fill millions of American bellies on November 22 which also happened to be Thanksgiving Day (Her mother says she owes her a turkey). She is a Journalism graduate who wants to be a career novelist (of books, not Facebook posts). When not writing or working, she is reading on her Nook, being hypnotized by Netflix or on a mission to procure french fries.

The Oracle of Delphi fantasy series is her first series. She is also the author of Mythos: Stories from Olympus, a companion series, and there is another fantasy series in the works. She also writes (new) adult fantasy/paranormal romance under the name A. Star. Invasion (An Alien Romance) is her first title released under this pen name. Future releases under A. Star include, Mythos: Gods and Lovers seriesthe Love & Steampunk series, the Purr, Inc. stories, and more.
