REALITY, SCHMEALITY

According to this article, LeAnn Rimes and her husband, Eddie Cibrian are going to get a reality show.
Am I the only one who finds that to be a strange oxymoron?
Hmm, perhaps. Personally, I hate that calibre of show. It's certainly not my thing and I can't imagine who in their right mind would be interested in shows of this nature. But who am I to judge? We all have our own favourite niches and for some, this is theirs.
The only reason I bring up this subject is out of the thought process that life is stranger than fiction.
Which in this case, it's ten times more than that because what are reality shows but forced reality? Reality skewed to capture the interest of viewers to increase viewing figures.
Does anyone enjoy watching this sort of reality show? Care to tell me why?
And I don't mean that in a patronizing sense, but in a please-help-me-explain kind of way! :)
I know life is stranger than fiction; I just wonder why people have to further 'weirden' it and make a show out of it! :)

HAPPILY NEVER AFTERS

An online buddy and fellow writer, Joanne Wadsworth, once blogged about the importance of an author brand - see the post here!
When it came down to it; I settled with Purveyor of Naughty Nookie. I felt it tied in with my series, Naughty Nookie as well as conveying what I do; write chick lit erotica. Not hardcore stuff.
At the same time, I determined that something with Happy Ever After in the title wasn't going to be a suitable author brand. Why? Because that isn't real and reality counts to me and hopefully to the peeps that read my work.
In a way, I'm a cynic. I read a so-called HEA and think, what went wrong?  Or what could potentially go wrong? Does the hero cheat, when the heroine can't cope with her miscarriage? Does she sink into alcoholism, when the hero dies in a car crash? Ok, maybe I'm a pessimist, but I can't help it.
And this link to an article, click here to read it,  is a demonstration that I'm not alone! :D
How awesome are these pics?
So powerful, touching and emotional. Strong, hard-hitting and the most important aspect? They're real.
No matter what I write, I strive for reality. And even if it means I have to skew reality to suit, then that's what I'll do. Because no one's life is perfect and while readers want the fantasy, we're too intelligent to be treated to the stuff we're fed as kids.
Reality can suck; but not the way I write it. :D
If you fancy seeing whether I'm all BS or speaking the truth, then here are my links to my new novella.

Doctor, Who?

This is slightly after the fact; but yesterday was manic thanks to my launch of #FallIntoLove :)

This post is calling all Doctor Who fans... am I the only freaked out by the new Doctor? He's really creepy :/ Saw him in a program a few years back; never liked him ever since. Although, didn't like David Tennant or Matt Smith at the start either :D Maybe I'm just possessive!  Gonna miss Matt Smith; he was quirky and I liked that.

Anyhoo, thought I'd give my two-penneth about the new Doctor :D Anyone feel the same way?

#FallIntoLove is on Sale NOW!

You seriously have no idea how psyched I am at this minute.

Last night, I uploaded #FallIntoLove expecting it to take an age to go live and this morning, lo and behold, it's on sale!

Agh!

So excited. I feel as though I've waited an age for this to happen; as though I've been hovering on the edge of this moment for a year!

I've had nothing but good feedback from really picky readers and I just hope that the rest of the world enjoys the #NaughtyNookie series.

Readership Survey

A friend of mine @CMSkiera on twitter and facebook shared this awesome link with me; it's a survey about readership and what the reader actually wants.
Very interesting.
Thanks to E-Book Formatting Fairies for the survey!

WRITER'S UNITE!

Hey Everyone
So, heard back from another beta reader and she loves #FallIntoLove. OMG! I'm so pleased with this novella; she has suggested a few changes and I'm going to work through them, but the #NaughtyNookie series is thrilling me. I have a really good gut feeling about it! Who knows? Another #50Shades? That would be so awesome!
Anyhoo, for all authors who read this, I've started this group on Facebook, Writer's Unite. I just figure that it's another place to post book links etc and if you're a reader, you can always visit to find more new ideas for reading tips!!

#FallIntoLove update

So, fab news, my book Fall Into Love - or #FallIntoLove as I'm trying to get used to calling it! - is on the brink of being uploaded to kindle and smashwords! Woohoo! So thrilled and relieved to finally be on the brink of self-publishing something.
I never doubted that I'd do it, eventually, but I hated the delay. Well, now, it's a delay of a different nature. I've 4 beta readers currently perusing the novella and I'm waiting to hear from all of them. I've heard from 2 out of the 4 and the feedback so far, has been incredible! Can't wait to upload it and officially state that I'm a published author!
Here's a song I've been listening to a lot of late; enjoy!
