Glazed Apple Bundt Cake.
Tender and moist homemade apple bundt cake smothered in a buttery brown sugar glaze. My favorite cake for the crisp fall weather.
Good morning! This post has been scheduled to publish. Kevin and I are currently on our honeymoon until October 11th. I will not be able to answer recipe questions on this recipe or any recipes on my blog or social medias during my time off. I will get back to your comments and questions the week of Monday, October 13th. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding during this special time. Happy baking.
I love old-fashioned desserts. The kinds of desserts grandmas make so well – often memorized in their heads. Like buttery caramel corn, banana bread, and deep dish apple pie. Or peach cobbler, cornbread, and teeth-rotting sweet chocolate fudge.
Yum.
Today’s recipe is just that. It’s like a big, sweet hug from grandma’s kitchen.
If you’re a regular reader, you know what my favorite dessert is. Do I talk about it all the time? Probably too much. Apple pie, apple pie, apple pie. Hot diggity damn, I freakin’ love apple pie. I should get some sleep since I just typed hot diggity damn at 12am.

Saturday Seven, 7.
Good morning! Popping in before we head out to Hawaii.
Another Saturday Seven for ya. I haven’t been in the kitchen this past week minus last night’s stuffed chicken dinner (just you wait) and won’t be in the kitchen the next two weeks while we are away.
But but but! I have a handful of sweet fall recipes to share while we are on our honeymoon. It will feel like summer in real life but fall on my blog. The best of both worlds.

Bacon-Wrapped Cheesy Stuffed Jalapeños.
Now that’s a mouthful. A heavenly cheese stuffed mouthful of bacon and jalapeño.
From pumpkin cheesecake to spicy stuffed jalapeños. My mind is everywhere this week. Just roll with the recipe randomness. These jalapeños you see today? They’re just another football appetizer to add to your rotation this year.
About to sit down to watch the Raven’s game two weeks ago, my husband (!!!) and I stood in front of the open fridge deciding what to make. Besides butter, leftovers, eggs, condiments, more condiments, so many condiments, and beer (desperately needed to go shopping) Kevin spotted three jalapeños. I spotted cream cheese. He spotted bacon. Wham, bam, three stuffed jalapeños, thank you ma’am.
Necessity hunger is the mother of invention.
Today’s recipe is an adaption of a crowd-pleasing appetizer I’ve made quite a few times before. I typically follow this Philadelphia cream cheese recipe to a T and yes, it is so good. But this time, I added shredded cheese, garlic, and flavorful smoked paprika. Lots of bold, spicy flavors here.

Pumpkin Cake Cheesecake.
Simply divine pumpkin cake swirled with rich and creamy cheesecake. This is something every pumpkin lover should try this fall!
Hi! Thank you so much for all of your well wishes, congrats, emails, messages, tweets, comments, gifts, cards, and everything else you have all done to make our wedding so special. Kevin and I are blessed to have had so much love surrounding us.
These iPhone photos capture some very special parts of the day. Thank you to our dog sitter, Brittany, for bringing Jude to our venue to surprise me!
Before we leave for our honeymoon next week, let’s talk about pumpkin cake. I made this pumpkin cheesecake about a month ago and have been obsessing about it since. I allowed myself only one slice due to the above wedding dress and froze the rest. Thinking about having a piece for breakfast this morning. Acceptable?

Maple Glazed Donuts.
Spiced cake donuts covered in a rich, thick maple glaze. The donuts are baked, not fried and incredibly simple to prepare.
Two weeks ago, I did nothing but bake > shoot > edit > bake again > shoot > edit, repeat. I don’t think I stepped outside for 3 days straight. I desperately worked ahead so I could keep my blog updated during this exciting time in my personal life. I’m also a nut job who loves to be in the kitchen. 3 days ’til I’m a Mrs and 2 weeks ’til our honeymoon!
My parents and friends happily taste-tested cakes and cookies and cupcakes galore. My freezer is currently home to frozen cheesecake, pumpkin bread, and what’s left of today’s donuts. Wanna come over? We can have a smorgasbord over coffee and discuss things like pie crust, pumpkin scented candles, and your favorite nail polish color.
Out of everything coming out of my kitchen mess those few frantic days, today’s baked donuts have got to be the best. The bees knees. The crème de la crème. The most perfect little way to begin a lazy morning. Paired with a steamy cup o’ joe and a favorite book.

Loaded Sweet Potato Skins.
Enjoy a big plate of extra crispy, extra loaded sweet potato skins in no time! This game-time favorite is hard to resist.
Football season is here. One of my favorite times of the year for the main reason being: snacks. Snack foods galore. An excuse to make a meal out of snacks and appetizers and dips and beer. Does life get any better?
I am absolutely not affiliated with this company, but have you ever tried these? A relatively healthy choice compared to anything else you’ll find on the shelves these days. I’ve seen them at Wegman’s, Acme, and Whole Foods. Highly recommended.
Speaking of sweet potato snacks, I made these loaded sweet potato skins for the Eagles game last weekend. I wasn’t planning to share the recipe because let’s face it… they’re just potato skins. But that’s exactly why I should share this recipe: cheesy, bacon-topped potato skin goodness. The plate disappeared before 1st quarter had ended.

Saturday Seven, 6.
Welcome back to my Saturday Seven series.
This post is my excuse to remind you about all the things you need to be making in the kitchen right now. My website (and head) is full of my favorite recipes in the world. Soooo, let’s get baking. Healthy eating is today’s theme. Actually, the theme is more along the lines of “healthy eating should not be boring eating.”
But first. My rehearsal dinner shoes.
I splurged on these Kate Spade heels and have absolutely no regrets. For a special dinner, I’ll have extra special shoes. I can’t wait to leave glitter everywhere I walk.

Apple Pie Baked Apples.
Everything you love about apple pie – the gooey cinnamon filling, the warm apples, the buttery homemade pie crust – all baked inside an apple. This fun and festive dessert is something everyone will love.
I had no clue what to call these. Mini apple pies? Baked apples with apple pie filling? Baked apple pie apples? Remixed apple pies? HEAVEN?
If you’ve been reading for awhile, you likely know that my favorite dessert on the planet – out of the 100s of desserts coming out of my kitchen every year – has always been and will always be good ‘ole apple pie.
I prefer my homemade apple pie served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. There is absolutely no dessert I would choose over that masterpiece. Except for, maybe, today’s crazy cute apple pie treats. I made them for Kevin and I last weekend – the man loves apple pie as much as I do. We’re pie people. It was our little indulgence after a week of running, biking, errands, meetings, more running, and salad.
(I run for apple pie.)

Crockpot Turkey Meatballs.
This is my favorite recipe for classic crockpot turkey meatballs. They’re spiced just right, incredibly tender, filled with tons of flavor, and there’s hardly any work involved.
I’ve gotten a few requests for everyday dinner recipes. Stuff I eat on the regular. Because as much as I’d love to live off of chocolate croissants and only chocolate croissants, it’s just not in the cards for me. Dream world.
I was thisclose to sharing this turkey meatball recipe with you last winter, but chickened out because let’s face it. There are no sprinkles, chocolate, peanut butter, unicorns, rainbows, or sparkles hiding inside.
But now that we’ve all gotten a little more used to dinner recipes and such, I believe it’s time. These crockpot turkey meatballs are one of Kevin’s favorite meals. And judging by the amount he’s seen me eat (and still wants to marry me??), one of my favorites too.
This is my no-frills, no complications, good ole meatball recipe. I don’t eat much beef, so I make them with ground turkey instead. It’s a feel good, fill-you-up kind of meal that you can put on the table without doing much work at all. That’s the perk of a slow cooker = all the comforting homemade goodness with none of the actual homemade work.
It’s a beautiful thing.
