Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread.

This recipe is from my cookbook, Sally’s Baking Addiction Cookbook, and makes an incredibly moist loaf of pumpkin bread. This fall favorite is packed with sweet cinnamon spice, chocolate chips, and tons of pumpkin flavor.

When September rolls around, I have the sudden itch to make any and every quick bread known to man. I’ve already made 3 loaves of cinnamon swirl banana bread, apple bread (recipe in my cookbook), and two loaves of this orange beauty.

To stop myself from slice after slice (“just one more!”), I froze each loaf to enjoy in October when I no longer have a wedding dress to fit into.

This month = salad, running shoes, smoothies. Next month = couch, sleep, and all the pumpkin chocolate chip bread I can eat.

This is my absolute favorite recipe for pumpkin bread. I love it so much that I included this very recipe in my cookbook last year. I’ve heard so many glowing reviews, that adding this recipe to my blog’s pumpkin archive was a no brainer.

What makes my pumpkin bread stand out from the rest is how supremely moist each slice is. And it’s jam-packed with pumpkin and cinnamon spice flavors. Oh! And this is one of the best parts: there are plenty of chocolate chips gracing every bite.

My Favorite Buttermilk Waffles.

Here is a recipe for my favorite buttermilk waffles. Delightfully crisp on the outside, light as air on the inside. These will be your new favorite way to spend Sunday mornings!

My Favorite Buttermilk Waffles are delightfully crisp on the outside and light as air on the inside. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

The first thing to do the morning after receiving a new waffle maker?

Buttermilk waffles. A huge stack of them, covered with melty butter, a cascade of pure maple syrup, and lots of fresh raspberries. Paired with a steamy cup of french vanilla coffee or mug of chai tea. Yup, that’s my definition of a perfect Sunday morning.

The morning I made these buttermilk waffles for brunch, I realized that I’ve never shared the recipe on my blog before. Most likely because my old (cheap) waffle maker made some gnarly looking waffles. Never underestimate the power of a good waffle maker.

Let’s start with my basic buttermilk waffle recipe. It’s my absolute favorite waffle to make at home because there are no overpowering flavors taking away from their fantastically buttery flavor. I’ve always been a waffle purist – plain with maple syrup and butter on top. No whipped cream, no chocolate chunks, no powdered sugar. Just melty butter and maple syrup filling every deep pocket on the surface.

Homemade Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts.

If you like pop-tarts, you will love my Homemade Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts. 100% from scratch. The frosting “sets” after an hour making them identical to the originals.

Homemade Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts. 100% from scratch. The frosting

Hi! (I’m currently wiping pop-tart crumbs off my keyboard.)

I made a homemade version of my all-time favorite high school snack food. My high school vending machines never had anything interesting (mixed nuts, stale granola bars) but it did supply pop-tarts. In only one flavor. The BEST flavor in the entire world.

Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon - the toaster pastry putting all other toaster pastries to shame. The food of which heaven is made. Unwrapping those silver wrappers is the sound of angels singing. Right?

Homemade Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts. 100% from scratch. The frosting

When I was 15, I would eat two brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts at a time in about 20 seconds, twice a day – not caring for one second about all the processed junk going into my body. Oh, to have a teenager’s metabolism again…

It’s been way too long since I tasted one of life’s greatest pleasures, so I set out to make my own. None of the unrecognizable ingredients, all of the cinnamon goodness. And frosting. So much frosting. And brown sugar!!! Sweet, sweet brown sugar.

White Chocolate Pumpkin Snickerdoodles.

These soft & chewy snickerdoodle cookies are full of pumpkin, white chocolate, and cinnamon sugar. You’re going to want a batch lying around for those chilly fall days. Warning: they disappear quickly!

These White Chocolate Pumpkin Snickerdoodles are a MUST try! So soft & chewy without being cakey using a few kitchen tested tricks. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

Ladies and gents, I present you my fall version of the snickerdoodle cookie. And holy mackerel (I really do say that) these pumpkin snickerdoodles deserve a standing ovation. Two, actually. They’re the much anticipated sequel to the legendary CHEWY pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. AKA my most remade recipe of the fall 2013 baking season.

AKA the chewy pumpkin cookie of which all cakey pumpkin cookies are jealous.

If you’re a regular reader you may recall this from last fall season… but I’m completely crazy when it comes to pumpkin cookies. Well. I’m crazy in a lot of aspects but I am certifiably nuts when it comes to pumpkin in my cookies.

Photo A Day, August.

August Photo A Day_-25

Welcome back to my Photo A Day posts. Where I share photos of my dog, working out, eating chocolate after working out, wedding anything and everything, and beer. Speaking of working out, I’m happy to say that I did 137 miles in August. Am I crazy?

Ahhh don’t answer that.

Wearing my wedding dress is especially motivating, but I found myself on long runs and walks with Jude when I felt life getting too crazy. Recipe fail? Take a walk. Wedding planning stress? Time for a long run. Before I knew it, I was in the triple digits.

I can’t believe tomorrow is September. What! My life feels so much different from June 1st as I type this in our new home with my bridal shower, moving, bachelorette, food tasting, seating arrangements, rehearsal dinner planning, church program designing, hair & make-up trial, and bridal dress fittings behind me. It has truly been the best summer of my life, but now it’s time to say (type?)…  September, let’s do this.

Hawaiian Pizza.

Classic Hawaiian Pizza is a staple on our Friday nights. This crowd-pleasing recipe starts with my fluffy homemade pizza crust and is finished with a sprinkle of crisp bacon. It’s love at first bite.

In 1 short month, Kevin and I will be on our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon. We booked our getaway to Maui and to Kauai back in February with 8 inches of snow on the ground. Now here we are booking helicopter rides, massages, excursions… with only 22 days until I call him my husband. I’m so excited I could cry.

Oh wait, I did. I’m such a sap.

Here’s a better (less embarrassing) way to put it – I’m so excited to go to Hawaii on our honeymoon that I made homemade hawaiian pizza 3 Fridays in a row and am considering turning 3 weeks into 4 weeks because it’s so fabulously good.

Hawaiian Pizza by sallysbakingaddiction.com. This crowd-pleasing recipe starts with my fluffy homemade pizza crust and is finished with a sprinkle of crisp bacon.

Here’s my hawaiian pizza. It starts with the crustiest homemade pizza crust. Ham, pineapple, cheese, and sauce haphazardly arranged on top. And there’s bacon. I don’t think bacon is a traditional topping on Hawaiian pizza, but in Kevin’s words “everything goes with bacon.” So naturally… there’s lots of bacon on our hawaiian pizza.

20 Minute Chocolate Croissants.

These chocolate croissants could not be any easier. Filled with rich chocolate, topped with more chocolate, and only 20 minutes from start to finish.

20 Minute Chocolate Croissants from sallysbakingaddiction.com - these could not be any easier!!

Are you ready for the world’s easiest recipe? Wait. Should I even call it a recipe when there are only 3 ingredients? Yup. Three ingredients, twenty minutes, chocolate chocolate chocolate, more chocolate, totally dangerous.

These chocolate croissants are my new favorite way to spend Saturday mornings. After 1 grueling hour of spin class, they’re completely necessary. I work out for chocolate.

I recently got in touch with Safeway for a little collaboration. Safeway is running a Summer of Saving Sweepstakes from Aug 5 – Sept 5 where you may enter daily for a chance to win a $100 gift card. (Winners are chosen during each of the 30 days, 5 times a day.) To celebrate, they asked me to make a couple recipes using some of my favorite products from their grocery aisles. A couple weeks ago, I made these Pretzel Crusted Chicken Fingers. Which completely blew my mind.

And this week, I used Pillsbury® Crescent Rolls to make today’s treat.

14 Slim-Down Smoothies.

I have, I don’t know, a million smoothie recipes that I rotate between each week. And I try to share as many of my smoothie concoctions with you as I can without smoothie-ing you out. I drink one nearly everyday.

Peaunt Butter Jelly Protein Smoothie

Lately, it’s been this beautifying recipe. And I can’t sing its praises enough!

Truth is, I drink smoothies everyday because they’re just damn good. The added bonus is that smoothies are so good for our bodies, our hair, our skin, our metabolisms, our energy levels, and so on. These vitamin and antioxidant-rich drinks are absolutely the easiest way to get in all your fruits and veggies.

Moist Yellow Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Frosting.

These super moist yellow cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting reign supreme in the dessert world. Soft, fluffy, and bursting with buttery flavor. Homemade tastes 1,000x better than a box!

Super-moist Yellow Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Frosting by sallysbakingaddiction.com. Finally the perfect homemade yellow cupcake recipe!

It’s been a few years since I made classic yellow cupcakes. If you click over, you will see that I clearly used an iPhone in the first few months of my blog’s life. My eyes hurt.

Nothing, and I mean nothing beats a classic yellow cupcake topped with milk chocolate frosting. And I know I’m pretty biased because sprinkles is my middle name (not really but it should be), but yellow cupcakes with chocolate frosting taste 1,000x better when there are rainbow sprinkles on top. Am I right or amIright?

Super-moist Yellow Cupcakes with Milk Chocolate Frosting by sallysbakingaddiction.com. Finally the perfect homemade yellow cupcake recipe!

To celebrate the wedding getting sooo close, I set out to make a brand new recipe for yellow cupcakes. Though my original recipe is quite impressive, sometimes change is a good thing. And I clearly need some updated photos.

Yellow cupcakes are about as classic as apple pie. As iconic as chocolate chip cookies and as supreme as chocolate cake. I can’t remember a single birthday without a yellow cupcake covered in creamy chocolate frosting.
