Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies.

Decadent chocolate fudge brownies loaded with chocolate covered pretzels and topped with chocolate chips and sea salt.

The fudgiest homemade brownies are so easy to make! Stuffed with chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate chips.

Have you ever tried the ultimate chocolate brownie recipe I shared last year?  One-bowl brownies, mixed up in less than 10 minutes, baked, cooled, and ready to devour in under an hour.  No mixer, easy clean-up, FUDGE city.  Seriously, I’m obsessed with this particular brownie recipe.

I went a little bonkers the other day and added dark chocolate covered pretzels to my beloved brownie batter.  I made the brownies for my best friend Marie, who we are visiting this weekend in Cleveland.  It’s her sisters wedding. Yep, wedding season is upon us!

Anyhoo, Marie LOVES salty/sweet desserts as much as I do and I knew she’d flip for these brownies.

So what kind of brownies are these exactly?  Well, you’re getting a super rich chocolate brownie stuffed with dark chocolate pretzels, topped with chocolate chips and sea salt. So yes, three different types of chocolate.  And yes, they’re a total chocoholics dream.

Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls.

Soft Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls filled with a gooey cinnamon swirl and topped with maple cream cheese icing.

I have gotten so many requests for pumpkin cinnamon rolls this year. I just love the way you all think. Pure geniuses, I tell ya. It was only a matter of time before I dove into the world of yeasted pumpkin dough. That’s right, pumpkin IN the dough. And I am so thankful I took the plunge. I have you to thank.

These incredibly gooey cinnamon rolls have to be my favorite breakfast indulgence… ever. Unraveling each doughy pumpkin coil and tasting the melty pumpkin spices inside is my definition of “autumn heaven.” Look that phrase up in the dictionary; a picture of THESE rolls will be shown.

I’m on a total pumpkin binge right now and this is only the beginning of Sally’s 2013 Pumpkin Madness. Fellow Baltimorians: if pumpkin is sold out of your grocery store, I am likely the culprit…

Drenching today’s glorious pumpkin pastries is a homemade maple cream cheese glaze.  I love maple and pumpkin together and am dying to make a batch of pumpkin pancakes just so I can drown them in maple syrup. Total comfort food, am I right?

I made today’s spiced-pumpkin rolls late Tuesday morning so I could get some good pictures of them in the afternoon light.  I tasted one and vowed to save the rest for breakfast the next day.  But I couldn’t hold off!  I had a pumpkin cinnamon roll for dinner. With a salad.  Life’s all about balance, right?

Apple Spice Quinoa Granola.

This crunchy apple granola is packed with nutrients and will soon become a favorite. Spiced with cinnamon and cloves, it makes the perfect fall snack.

Crunchy Apple Spice Granola packed with quinoa, almonds, maple, and cinnamon. Healthy snack by sallysbakingaddiction.com

It’s been far too long since I shared a granola recipe with you.  But I’ve secretly been making different granola recipes all summer. Snacking on them helped me get through my cookbook manuscript! Late nights and early mornings – we’re talking 4am alarms – all summer long. Munching on mocha java granola kept me awake, alert, and… sane.

Homemade granola, while boring to some, is actually one of my favorite things to munch on.  In fact, I think it is far from boring!  So many textures, so much crunch, the flavor possibilities are endless, dried fruit, nuts, the whole shebang.  Eaten for breakfast, pre-workout, post-workout, midnight munchie, or sitting at my desk – I never tire of this stuff! The only downside to granola? It is so addicting!

But I can think of worse problems.

When I make granola, I like to focus on whole, natural foods.  Healthy foods to balance out my Reese’s bar obsession, foods without a bunch of excess sugar, and foods that I buy on the reg – so I don’t have to make any extra trips to the grocery store. Not only is homemade granola so simple to throw together at home, but you have complete control over the ingredients.  Oh, and it’s cheap to make at home too.

Iced Pumpkin Coffee Cake.

An incredibly moist and flavorful spiced-pumpkin coffee cake, piled high with a crumb topping and finished with a simple glaze.

Iced Pumpkin Coffee Cake - super moist and easy to make. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

Happy Fall Equinox! Today, the night and day are nearly exactly the same length – 12 hours – all over the world. ;)

No matter what time of day it is though, I could happily gobble up this entire fall-spiced coffee cake.  It has got to be one of the best things to have EVER come out of my kitchen. Kevin (who doesn’t even like pumpkin – I know. I KNOW!) actually enjoyed it.  It’s the epitome of autumn on a breakfast plate.

Or dessert plate… or midnight snack plate.

Iced Pumpkin Coffee Cake - super moist and easy to make. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

It took me a couple tries to get this pumpkin coffee cake to be perfect.  The first one? Not too pumpkin-y.  I want an in-your-face pumpkin explosion.  So, I added more pumpkin.  The second cake? Not enough crumbs on top!  You all know how crumbs are the best part… right?

Third times a charm.  This super-crumb pumpkin explosion will have you jump out of bed and race to the kitchen table any morning of the week.  Oh, and it gets even better.  This is the moistest coffee cake I’ve ever had!  You can thank the oil, pumpkin, brown sugar, and maple syrup for that. I loathe dry, bland baked goods.  None of that nonsense here.

Skinny Peanut Butter Banana Muffins.

Peanut butter, banana, and honey come together in these healthy whole wheat muffins. Chocolate chips are optional, but necessary…

Meet my latest breakfast. And snack. And midnight snack. And oh-my-gosh-I’m-finished-my-cookbook-manuscript snack.

Healthified peanut butter banana muffins that you can actually feel good about eating. Sweetened with honey and mashed bananas, left moist from ripe bananas and protein-packed Greek yogurt, whole-wheat, creamy peanut butter, mini chocolate chips, and a melted peanut butter drizzle – the last two things are totally optional, but kinda required if you ask me.

My love for peanut butter runs deep.  And peanut butter lovers deserve a healthy treat every now and then, right?!

All of the ingredients packed inside are normal, familiar, and you might just have them all inside your pantry right now.  I didn’t even need to make an extra trip to the grocery store when my peanut butter craving hit.  → LOVE it when that happens.

Pumpkin Praline Soft Pretzels in less than an hour. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

Welcome to Sally’s Pumpkin Addiction. Where pumpkin enthusiasts, hoarders, and lovers unite.

I was working on a cookbook recipe last week when this recipe came to mind.  Pretzels and pumpkin? Have I gone mad? Trust me.  Pumpkin-spiced pretzels, baked to soft perfection, and covered in a brown sugar pumpkin praline glaze.  Snack time just got a HUGE pumpkin makeover, people.

Pumpkin Praline Soft Pretzels in less than an hour. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

I’ve been making soft pretzels for just about a year now.  Kevin’s family introduced me to a super-speedy and simple soft pretzel recipe and it quickly became my favorite AND your favorite as well.  My 30 Minute Soft Pretzels have been one of the most popular posts of all time on my blog.  They’re quick, easy, and chewy. A perfectly approachable recipe for beginners, adults, kids, and all soft-pretzel lovers.

I simply took our beloved pretzel dough recipe and tried a few different techniques on it:

Dark Chocolate Mounds Bar Cookies.

Soft, chewy, and easy cookies for any chocoholic. Stuffed with coconut-y Mounds Bars and generously drizzled with dark chocolate.

Soft-Baked Dark Chocolate Mounds Bar Cookies. No mixer needed! sallysbakingaddiction.com

My pantry is currently a hodgepodge of chocolate chips, candy bars, dried fruits, and nuts.  So many leftovers from not only my blog, but my cookbook recipes as well. I keep all the goodies in large bags and mark them as “off-limits” to someone (ahem, Kevin) who likes to poke through my stash.

When you’re a baker by occupation you’ll find it easy to resist all the snickers bars staring back at you. I do, however, have a h-u-g-e weakness for Mounds Bars (Bounty Bars outside of the US). I feel like I say that about every candy bar, but you have to trust me about this one.  This is the truth! I’m all about the dark chocolate and gooey coconut.  I didn’t even have enough leftover Mounds Bars from all my snacking to even make these cookies…

…emergency trip to the grocery store yet again.

Soft-Baked Dark Chocolate Mounds Bar Cookies. No mixer needed! sallysbakingaddiction.com

Soft-Baked Dark Chocolate Mounds Bar Cookies. No mixer needed! sallysbakingaddiction.com

The idea for these cookies came to mind when I had leftover cookie dough chillin’ out in the refrigerator.  The cookie dough was plain and didn’t have any chocolate chunks in it yet.  I baked a few plain dough balls and topped them with a simple dark chocolate drizzle and shredded coconut. They were dazzling. Dark chocolate and coconut just belong together. And they make a fine addition to a buttery, chewy cookie dough.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries.

Learn how to make crisp sweet potato fries at home. Baked, not fried – so you can feel good about eating them!

Baked Crispy Sweet Potato Fries. Simple and healthy. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

I have a confession.

I am not only addicted to desserts; I have a serious obsession with sweet potato fries.  Well, if we’re being honest – I have an obsession with ALL things sweet potato.  Baked sweet potato wedges, sweet potato casserole, sweet potato chips, sweet potato chili, and my mom’s brown sugar glazed sweet potatoes. (my favorite thanksgiving side dish.)

I make baked sweet potato fries at home all the time.  Since they’re baked and not fried, I feel good about snacking on them or serving them up with dinner.  The “recipe” is so simple, I never thought to share it on my blog. But the time has come; I can no longer keep my love for these cinnamon-spiced fries a secret.

Baked Crispy Sweet Potato Fries. Simple and healthy. Recipe by sallysbakingaddiction.com

{polish: Essie “For the Twill of It”}

The first step is to start with some sweet potatoes. The amount of potatoes depends on how many fries you want to make.  For the two of us, I always use 2 very large sweet potatoes. Sometimes three, which makes a ton of fries.  I’ve never complained about snacking on the extra sweet potato fries, that’s for sure.
