Caught Flat-Footed

You might THINK this bit of soccer reporting is from a comedy sketch. But Chris Kamara's baffled look transcends acting...

Barbie Plays Soccer...and Freaks Me Out!

With the world getting geared up for the World Cup, I guess there are going to be a lot more soccer games out there. But I'm still surprised to see this fusball  table for Barbie (made by a designer named Chloé Ruchon.

It's not that women aren't great soccer players. They are! And I know that fusball figures don't usually have arms.

But still, is it just me or does this look just a little freaky?

Russian Soldiers Have the Strength of Ten Men!

Look at the power of the Russian soldier. Working together, these guys are able to pick up tanks! But something's a little fishy here…hey, these are just models and balloons!

These fake weapons are intended to fool enemy observers. Hmm, now that I think about it, this is EXACTLY the kind of thing I could use in my backyard! Those squirrels will think twice about messing with my birdfeeder if they think I have an anti-aircraft gun!

Here's a video (in Russian!) on how the fakes are made.span

I Have a Bad Peeling About This

If you went by the Banana Club Museum in Altadena, California, recently, you may have noticed that it's closed. But don't despair! It's going to re-open next year near Palm Springs.

But I do have a banana to pick with Ken "Top Banana" Bannister, the museum's creator. He claims to have the world's most petrified banana (left).

But apparently, he hasn't seen the wizened specimen I pulled out of my backpack recently!

Dude, Your Cake Is Leaving Nuclear Radiation in My Parlor

In 1946, the U.S. military did a test explosion of the biggest thermonuclear device ever. And to celebrate, Admiral H.P. Blandy and his wife detonated a custom cake!

Fun Fact: The admiral had TWO cool nicknames: Spike and Waffle Nose.

Behold the World's Shortest Bike Lane!

In Cardiff, England, work has finished on a grand project: An eight-foot bike lane.

Sure, at £2,000 (about $3,000), it was sort of expensive. But it's also awesome! As one cyclist said, "You just have time to get in the saddle before getting off again."

Sure, it's fun to make fun of, but the lane serves a vital purpose. A Cardiff town official helpfully explained that the lane is intended to "highlight the interface between the eastbound carriageway and the beginning of a new contraflow...

What If My Subscription Expires?

This martial arts instructor (in a REALLY creepy room!) gives directions on how to use the magazine of death!

Except it actually just sort of hurts.

This will be funny!

Put the graphic below in the print-out tray of every printer in your office, school, or dungeon. See what people make of it!

Ferrets Will Save the World!

As you might know, I like ferrets. And so do the British! Although these awesome weasels weren't native to the U.K. islands, the ancient Roman leader Caesar Augustus is believed to have sent ferrets there 2,000 years ago to control the rabbit population.

And now these heroic animals are helping the Brits out again! According to this story in the Telegraph , The company Virgin Media has been using the sinuous beasties for over a year to help install Internet cables. The ferrets, wearing...
