Books Are So Comfortable

I LOVE sitting on them! (Although once in a while the index gives me a pain in the rear.)

This cool furniture was invented by Darris Hanroun; more info here.

Librarian Workout Video!

"Yes, it's true, all you librarians. No longer must you sit around all day and collect flab, flab, FLAB."

Thanks, Betty Glover!

All Hail the Book Bike!

If you're in Chicago anytime soon, you might get lucky and see the coolest thing of all time: the Book Bike ! Created and pedaled by Gabriel Levinson, the Book Bike carries 200 pounds of books to, um...people who need books!

Right now, Gabriel is specializing in pedaling through parks. There, he looks for people who might like a book to read, and then he GIVES them a book! That's right, the books are free... so if you're looking to donate to a good cause, Garbriel is your guy!

Authors Face Danger Daily! (Okay, maybe weekly)

See what I mean? The author, Paul Linde, hurt his leg, but he's okay. (It's a long fall from the middle Hollywood Square.)

From Epic FAIL.

Why Does Russell Crowe Want to Kill All Readers?

The guy in the suit may be wealthy, so maybe Robin Hood wants to take books from the rich and....never mind.

The Moby Award Finalists!

It's not QUITE as famous as the Oscars, but the Moby Awards are getting there. As you know, the Mobys are given out to the best (and worst!) book videos. That is, these are promotional trailers for their books...sort of like previews at the movie theater.

And a trailer for The Pocket Guide to Mischief is a Moby finalist! Specifically, it's in the category of Least Likely Trailer to Sell the Book. Wow. It's an honor just to be nominated!

As you can see, the prize is as good as mine already. ...

Bouncy Castles Float!

Over in Europe, there's three guys making a documentary about traveling. And for their adventures, they decided to try using a bouncy castle as a boat.

And it worked!

It took the three adventurers a long time to paddle across Italy's Lake Garda, but they had fun doing it. And best of all, no barbarians stormed their ramparts!

More here.
