GOOD IDEAS: Window Washers with Spidey Sense!

According to this press release, there is a window-washing company with branches in France and Qatar that will send its employees out in Spiderman outfits. Not only that, the workers will do it while "abseiling." That means they'll rappel with ropes like mountain climbers!

And if one of the window-washers falls, no worries. They'll just shoot Spidey web from their wrist and swing to safety!

STRANGE IDEAS: Dinosaur Heavy Metal... for Kids?

Finland is a land of contradictions. It's famous for being the most humorless country in Europe...yet it is home to Hevisaurus, a dinosaur rock band that plays concerts for kids!

Someone please explain this to me!

BAD IDEAS: Tree Hugging

Yep, the next time that you're babysitting kids, remember: There's nothing they'd rather do than hug a tree!

And afterwards, I recommend fixing them one of their favorite treats. Maybe some delicious haggis? Yeah, kids love that too!

How Much Wood Would a Blogger Chop If a Blogger Blogged About Wood Chopping?

There is a blog dedicated to chopping wood.

It's called A Blog About Chopping Wood.

Although I have found this blog to be a useful source of information about wood chopping, it has not been updated in a year.

So please join me in encouraging the wood chopper to get choppin' and bloggin' again!

Good Ideas: Klingon Hamlet!

I like to read.

And sometimes I'm lucky enough to come across a book that is SO exciting, I'll jump out of my chair and sprint to the computer. In the process, I may end up stepping on a hamster exercise ball and doing a spectacular wipe-out, but that's a price I'm willing to pay so that I can write this:

The Klingon Hamlet is cool. And as Chancellor Gorkon once said, "You have not experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon." From the book's product...

Desperate Monk Tries to Read!

The first book readers in medieval times sometimes ran into technical problems. Luckily, there was a help desk! (The video is from Norway, with subtitles.)

Gorillas Shouldn't Play with Matches

This article tells the story of a house fire in Hampton, New Hampshire. The photo that runs with it is amazing.

Why is that man dressed as a gorilla? The caption explains it:
Wayne McGowen, who was sleeping in the basement of the house when it caught fire, watches firefighters at the scene along with neighbor Kali Burns, who was dressed as a gorilla.
Wait, that doesn't explain anything! Luckily, I kept reading to the article's end:

Kali Burns, who lives next door, ran up and down the street...

Sleeping Mayor Incites Near-Riot (but at least he wasn't snoring!)

This news story of a mayor and his wife both immediately falling asleep at a school's play just HAS to be read:

Children at Vale School in Worthing, England, were excited to be entertaining Mayor Noël Atkins and his wife Helena at their production of Bugsy Malone [a story where kids play gangsters:].

However, the budding actors' confidence was crushed when their guests of honor dozed off within minutes. Parents condemned Mr. Atkins's behaviour as "appalling" and demanded that he apologize.
