Regarding the Contact Form…
This is directly from R.J./the operator/author… but let’s face it, the cats would say similar. Except possibly with even more Really Pissed Off Commentary and cussing.
Those who come onto the website and get nasty in the contact form because a book was delayed due to life/COVID gets put on the “you’re a fucking miserable and terrible person” list and likely to be banned from the page/website.
Seriously, life happens, and the contact form is not the place for you to bitch about being unhapp...

Silent Stalker: a Lowrance Vampires Novel is now available for preorder!
Dear humans,
The female wished to commit to the next Lowrance Vampires novel, so she gave it the first of four guaranteed book slots for 2022. Anything that isn’t on the guaranteed preorder list will be finished as it is finished, completed around the guaranteed projects. If it isn’t set up for preorder, the answer is “We don’t know when the female will accomplish this book.” This decision was made to preserve her sanity.
Keep reading for additional book news, reminders of what’s being wor...

Upcoming Audiobooks: March 1, 2021… plus more questions answered.
Dear humans,
The female is writing this post today. We’re busy watching the birds.

News tidbit #1!
Taken is in progress of being contracted and recorded. The voice actor will be the same lovely gentleman who did Storm Called. Things like money has been discussed. Things like how to handle other things… needs to be discussed. I am sure we will figure this out, but it’s been confirmed this is a thing.
Storm Called, Bonds, and Huntress are also being updated with new audiobook cover...

Q&A from the Contact Form! (The February 2021 edition.)
Dear humans,
The female’s assistant, Jenny, has come forth with comments, questions, and so on! We are here to answer them. (With askers names and confidential information removed.)
The female will try to do personalized responses to the important ones as soon as she scrapes up the energy, but she does not have a great deal of energy right now.
1: Do you have signed copies for sale?Short answer: no. Not precisely.

Random Short Story. Mission: Clam Chowder.
Dear humans,
Normal rules apply. No editing of any sort. This is purely fun. Now, please enjoy. Or not.
Mission: Clam Chowder by R.J. BlainSomeone had left a fresh container of clam chowder on the kitchen island. I prowled around the white, steaming container, eyeballing the vessels of potatoes lurking within the creamy broth. Could something so thick even be called broth?
I loved potatoes.
Potatoes did not love me.
On my second pass around temptation, I determined no one ...

I wrote a short story on Facebook.
Here it is for your enjoyment.
I’m even giving this one a title!
The Taco Van by R.J. BlainA plate of fresh tacos waited just beyond the threshold of the white, rusty van with ‘FREE CANDY’ spray painted on the side. Who wanted free candy? Not this woman.
But those tacos?
I would do far shadier things than climb inside some dumb, rusty van to get those tacos.
I climbed inside.
Three men waited inside.
Excellent.
“How nice of you,” I murmured, closing the door behin...
A Cat’s Guide to Publishing Wide.
Dear humans,
Publishing. It’s complicated. Here’s our basic guide on wtf, how to go about doing it, and all that snazz. Get coffee. We’re warning you. This is legitimately complicated.
Note: this post has been brought to you by A Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) Starter Pack, which is $0.99 until Sunday. (February 7, 2021.) If you found this useful, we appreciate pennies tossed into our jar. If you already have it, grab a gift code and shove it down the throat of a friend. Lovin...

I will be MIA for a while.
R.J. here. In good news, I’d finished all my immediate deadlines. In bad news, my husband just went to the ER. It’s not COVID, but it’s also not good.
As such, I’m probably not going to be as active as normal. I’ll keep everybody (who is interested) posted.
At this point in time, nothing in my schedule is changing, I just won’t be as social as normal. Possibly. I have a lot of waiting to do in the near future, as visitors aren’t allowed at the hospital. With a little luck, he’ll be able to...

Power outages are fun! (Not!)
Dear humans,
Wild Wolf released today. The power went out, so there went that. In good news, it came back on before everything in the refrigerator and freezer spoiled. Barely. It was getting to the doomsday hour for that, but it came back on with some time to spare.
The female has had quite the day. She did a fun zoom, which will eventually be posted… somewhere? When we have a link, we will share. There was a lot of giggling and general silliness. It was fun. Anxiety rousing, but also fun....
