Catnapped Releases Tomorrow~ Squee!
Dear humans,
Book! Book! Book! There is a book coming! To celebrate the upcoming book, we have taken the liberty of stealing a few more words from the female. Please enjoy them.
I should have worn something nice.
It was one thing to face off against the Devil, who’d opted to show up as a tanned white man in a black suit, while I wore wrinkled work clothes. It was another to face off against the Devil, one of his brothers, and one of his top generals while wearing wrinkled work cloth...

Sneak Peek at Catnapped: a Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count)

Catnapped is coming! Catnapped is coming! May 11 is right around the corner, and it’s almost time to dive back into the Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) world. Catnapped is available for preorder at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, and Kobo.
The female keeps sighing sadly at USA Today, as if that will somehow help her accomplish her dream of hitting the list with a brand new, full-priced release. (We have news for you, female… that is not how this works.)
Onto the fun s...

Southwest Movers: a Review, as the owner seems to be doing his best to silence unhappy reviewers… plus a baked chicken recipe.
As it seems like the company has managed to quell my reviews on yelp and google, it’s time to light some matches, get some gasoline, and discuss the MisAdventures of the Blain Household, the moving edition!
Allow me to set the scene.
My husband opted to handle the movers this go around. Okay. Fine. That’s cool. He wanted to do it, I didn’t want to do it, so he did it. On the surface, the company looked great. Until I did some digging later (after the fact) and discovered these little gems:...
More on the Move From Hell, Induction into House Pfizer!
Howdy, folks. The kitties are still trying to figure out why we DARED to change things up on them, so they’re still marking their territory and otherwise pitching a fit over the changes to their little furry lives. As such, you get me again today.
My husband and I both got our first dose of Pfizer today, which is a huge load off! Hooray! The shot went smoothly, and neither of us had any allergic reactions. Apple, my husband’s employer, provided the shots when they were allowed to acquire dose...

Unawakened has Released, banned from facebook, and the move from hell…
The cats are too tired to write anything today, so you get the super duper grouchy human today.
The movers beyond sucked. They sucked so bad they managed to trash the apartment they were moving us out from, including damaging the property, PLUS destroy a lot of things, including several family heirlooms. To add insult to injury, we’ve done at least eight runs with our super big pickup truck.
This pickup.

Yeah. Let’s just say I left a scathing review. We have to go back tomorrow to t...

Plaidypus: a Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) Coming December 21, 2021! Warning: contains a minimum of two Canadians and a magical adventure to Australia.

After a close encounter of the hotspot kind, Nadine’s paws are full figuring out how to feed her thirsty vampire of a brother, trying to convince the CDC she actually can be a shapeshifter infected with the lycanthropy virus, and dodging the pack of crazy women out for her blood—or her brother’s body.
She’s not sure if they want her or her brother, but she doesn’t want to find out.
Nadine knows one thing for certain: her backwater town is too small for everybody coming to pay her famil...

The Female has Officially Lost it.

Dear humans,
Do you see this can?
The female walked over a mile for this can. “If I exercise for 20 minutes, I can have a v8!” she exclaimed. With much excitement. This can, this thing filled with vegetables, somehow has raised itself up to be the equivalent of catnip or something.
She has 48 bribes of these cans, 1 of which she has earned. She walked over a mile for a can of dead vegetables preserved in salt.
Humans are strange.
The female has talked a lot about health, disab...

News Re: Kobo & Kobo Plus (Subscription reading service)

Greetings, folks!
I (R.J., as the kitties are busy sleeping because they’re lazy) have some general news for you regarding Kobo! A lot of it is good, especially for those who are on a tight budget.
So, I’ll just plow through this so y’all can get back to your Friday night.
1: Don’t panic if you notice some books go offline from Kobo for a day or two. I’m in process of finishing transferring books from a distributor to directly with Kobo. Once the process is started, it should only t...

Let’s talk about abled vs disabled for a few minutes.

A beloved friend sent me a surprise dragon skull! It’s PINK. I very much love it. It is made out of pink Aragonite, which was mined in Brazil.
This is a repost from the R.J. Blain facebook page, but I (the author) felt it was worth repeating. A few notes before I begin:
1: Nothing specifically triggered this beyond a general awareness (and a tendency to roll my eyes) over the inclusion of criticism the books are too repetitive for their liking.
I am not at all upset or bothered by t...

Booksniffer: a new (and kind of entertaining) book app.
Dear humans,
The female is being amused by a new app that is currently in the works. Booksniffer’s icon, admittedly, made her giggle, which led to her poking and prodding at it. Here is a screenshot of it in action.

To join the fun, you can go to the Google Play or Apple Store doohickeys and download it, then just plug rj blain into the search box, and it’ll pull up a place for you to check out the books and follow me. You can also see stuff here, too. As I’m always game to try new thi...
