Let’s Talk about Chronic Pain & Mental Illness.

Dear humans,

Please forgive the clutter under the female’s desk. It’s very difficult for her to get under there to clean. Earlier today, we brought up health problems, life, the universe, and generally everything. Someone commented about how the female’s symptoms were in line with fibromyalgia.

This is ridiculously common. We can’t shake a stick over how many times people automatically assume pain, anxiety, and depression somehow equate to suffering from fibromyalgia.

We’ve, frankly...

Book Faire plus News from the Trenches!

Meet the female’s new chair. This is Baby. Blue Boy, Baby’s 2 week old predecessor, went to the Great Chair Graveyard in the sky due to a manufacturing defect. It tried to dump the female’s not-so-small ass directly onto the hydraulic pole of death, doom, and nooooooooooos.

No females were hurt during the exchange of the chairs.

Blue Boy was a nice chair, and the female dodged death from chair hydraulic pole thanks to most of the seat opting not to bust its seam.

The female’s Saturd...

And because it can always get worse…

No, Client from Hell should not be releasing on Kobo tomorrow. There was a technical glitch, and while I’ve attempted to fix it, customer service has not gotten back to me.

As such, kobo readers may get a preorder file tomorrow. It does not have the book, because I pushed the book’s date back to the 27th of JULY because I couldn’t have the book done by now without killing myself.

So, that’s ‘fun.’ Not.

There’s like not even any make-goods I can do on this because it was a stupid error. Annnd, t...

New Audiobooks Available at Authors Direct!

Greetings, folks!

The female, AKA RJ, here. The cats are sleeping, and frankly… I’m way too tired today to help the felines manage the keyboard. So, I’ll just get onto the chase.

You can find the new audiobooks here. This should automagically sort from newest to oldest to help you locate the new titles. (I hope.) If you want a list of other vendors you can acquire the audiobooks at, here is a list of the new audiobooks below. The audiobooks should also be available at chirp (the ones that ...

Regarding the Contact Form…

This is directly from R.J./the operator/author… but let’s face it, the cats would say similar. Except possibly with even more Really Pissed Off Commentary and cussing.

Those who come onto the website and get nasty in the contact form because a book was delayed due to life/COVID gets put on the “you’re a fucking miserable and terrible person” list and likely to be banned from the page/website.

Seriously, life happens, and the contact form is not the place for you to bitch about being unhapp...

Silent Stalker: a Lowrance Vampires Novel is now available for preorder!

Dear humans,

The female wished to commit to the next Lowrance Vampires novel, so she gave it the first of four guaranteed book slots for 2022. Anything that isn’t on the guaranteed preorder list will be finished as it is finished, completed around the guaranteed projects. If it isn’t set up for preorder, the answer is “We don’t know when the female will accomplish this book.” This decision was made to preserve her sanity.

Keep reading for additional book news, reminders of what’s being wor...

Upcoming Audiobooks: March 1, 2021… plus more questions answered.

Dear humans,

The female is writing this post today. We’re busy watching the birds.

News tidbit #1!

Taken is in progress of being contracted and recorded. The voice actor will be the same lovely gentleman who did Storm Called. Things like money has been discussed. Things like how to handle other things… needs to be discussed. I am sure we will figure this out, but it’s been confirmed this is a thing.

Storm Called, Bonds, and Huntress are also being updated with new audiobook cover...

Q&A from the Contact Form! (The February 2021 edition.)

Dear humans,

The female’s assistant, Jenny, has come forth with comments, questions, and so on! We are here to answer them. (With askers names and confidential information removed.)

The female will try to do personalized responses to the important ones as soon as she scrapes up the energy, but she does not have a great deal of energy right now.

1: Do you have signed copies for sale?

Short answer: no. Not precisely.

Long answer: I do giveaways, and sometimes I have extra signed boo...

Random Short Story. Mission: Clam Chowder.

Dear humans,

Normal rules apply. No editing of any sort. This is purely fun. Now, please enjoy. Or not.

Mission: Clam Chowder by R.J. Blain

Someone had left a fresh container of clam chowder on the kitchen island. I prowled around the white, steaming container, eyeballing the vessels of potatoes lurking within the creamy broth. Could something so thick even be called broth?

I loved potatoes.

Potatoes did not love me.

On my second pass around temptation, I determined no one ...
