Robyn's Top Ten Favorite Book Heroines

10. Raven Madison, Vampire Kisses series (Ellen Schreiber). I really loved Raven for the first few books. In the later ones, I didn’t like her as much, but she totally qualifies for my top ten. 9. Ichigo Momomiya, Tokyo Mew Mew series (Mia Ikumi). Even though she picked the wrong guy in the end (don’t mind my fangirl sulking), I love her character. She’s super goofy and really cute. 8. Mitsuki Kouyama, Full Moon o Sagashite series (Arina Tanemura). She’s really pure and just wants to fulfill her dream of being able to sing.7. Aria Montgomery, Pretty Little Liars series (Sara Shepard). She’s super quirky (or should I say kooky like Shepard does in the PLL books?) and makes mistakes like any of us. I really relate to her. Minus the whole, sleeping with my teacher thing... *laughs*6. Rukia Kuchiki, Bleach series (Tite Kubo). She’s a really quirky character, and tough with a complicated past. I absolutely love it!5. Kagome Higurashi, InuYasha series (Rumiko Takahasi). What can I say? I have loved InuYasha since I was 14, and Kagome was my idol for a couple years during that time. I still love her character so much. She’s insecure a lot of the time, so I could always relate to her easily.4. Sakura Kinomoto, Cardcaptor Sakura series (CLAMP). She’s such a cute character, and I’ve loved CCS since I was a kid. She’s a bit of a crybaby so she isn’t perfect, but she does what she has to in order to get things done. 3. Suze Simon, Mediator series (Meg Cabot). She’s a really spunky chick and isn’t afraid to get in a fight -- even though sometimes she gets her ass handed to her. She’s one of the most real characters I’ve ever read, and she kept me company throughout most of high school.2. Hermione Granger, Harry Potter series (J. K. Rowling). She’s a bookworm! One who isn’t afraid to keep up with the boys and face danger with them. Who doesn’t love Hermione?1. Rose Hathaway, Vampire Academy series (Richelle Mead). She’s a kick-ass Dhampir, but she’s still very much a girl, worrying about her hair and talking to boys.

I'm a beta reader for many authors, I'm on a few authors ARC list, because apparently I'm THAT awesome. ;) And I also Edit. Not a professional, but I do help a few with that.
I have two children, 5&2, and have another on the way. They bug the shit outta me, but hey, that's what kids are supposed to do. ;) Married since 2007. He's amazing, but he's also a bigger pain in my ass than my kids are.
I love to read. and I love being able to write stories that *I* want to read!

Sweet Thing was a great read! I originally labeled this book as chick lit, but I have had a little time to think on it I realize I was wrong. This is definitely Adult Contemporary Romance. Yes, it does have some of that sweetness that chick lit is known for. But, it is full of the depth that you can on find in Adult Contemporary.

Our heroine, Mia Kelly is as stubborn as they come. She has all these ideas about what life should be like and what it shouldn't be like, and she refuses to see past those ideas. She's a thinker, and refuse to listen to her heart. I loved the chick, but I could have gave a good slap once or twice.

She was blessed with an abundance of musical talent, but she is plans to get a business degree instead of building on that talent. She is determined to stay focused on her goals, but all that changes when she meets Will.

Will Ryan is in my top-ten book boyfriends. He's sweet, talented, funny, and sexy. Will is the exact opposite of Mia, or he is the exact opposite of what Mia wants to be. Will brings out the passionate side of Mia. The creative side that she has been suppressing for years, and it scares the he** out of her.

There relationship grew slowly. At times, I kind of felt like it was dragging a bit. However, it was worth the wait. When they finally did get together I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I was literally bouncing in my seat, because I was so excited.

I can not brag enough on Renee's writing style. Her words took you out of the now, and sent you straight into the land of Will and Mia. I felt like I was right there with them. Feeling each emotion. I swear my heart cried out for both of them. Awesome job!

Would I recommend this book? Yes

I was absolutely amazed that this was Ms. Spoon’s first book.  In fact, I checked goodreads twice just to make sure.  Darkness Deserved is definitely a good book.  It is extraordinary when you consider it is her first book.  All I can say is…. OMG!!! Darkness Deserved can be described in two words… Mind F*Ck! I have read a lot of twisted book.  You know those books that are leave you feeling raw all over.  But, I do not think I have ever read a book as intense as this one.  .

Harper Reagan is an amazing heroine.  I am not going to go into all of her issues, but I will say she has tons of them!!  I cried for her more than once.  I am talking about multiple ugly and snotty sobbing sessions.  I so wanted to jump into this book and give her a huge hug. 

Breccan is my kind of hero.  He is an absolute hottie with a body!  I freaking loved him!  I know I will be looking for Breccan in every book I read for a very long time.  Harper has feelings for Breccan, but she is scared of letting anyone in.  Breccan is famous.  His being in the lime light makes things even harder for Harper.  When they do get together it is one explosion after the other.  Especially in the bedroom!  (wink wink)

The only reason this book did not earn a five star is because there is a cliffhanger.  It is not huge, but it’s still there.  If there had been a true HEA, this would have been a five star plus book.  Would I recommend it?  Hell Yeah!

“Don’t call me that! What does that even mean? I don’t want you here! We’re done! Get-” He cuts me off as he forcefully grabs me and yanks me towards him and shoves his tongue in my mouth. He is squeezing me so tight it’s nearly painful. I refuse to kiss him back. Don’t do it Harper. Don’t! Be strong! He kisses me harder and I refuse to return it. He reaches down and grabs my legs, then wraps them around his waist. What is with this guy and constantly wrapping me around him? Oh, shit. He’s gonna slam me into the wall again! He quickly drops to his knees and then lowers me forcefully to the floor. He grinds his hips into me and I feel his erection on my stomach. Oh. My. God. I know I’m not gonna be able to hold out much longer. I start to push him away. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My brain is telling me to, but my body just wants to conform to his. And the son of a bitch knows it. 
I’m pushing on his chest as hard as I can until he grabs my wrists and forces them above my head. He’s stretched out above me. And quite honestly, it’s the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. He continues to kiss me and I continue to refuse to reciprocate. He grinds his hips into me again. His mouth moves from mine and trails down my jaw to my ear where he nibbles on my earlobe. He continues down my neck until he gets to the nook where it reaches my shoulder and he bites down. Hard. God, how does that feel so good? I swear I about come in my pants from it. I can’t stop the moan that escapes my lips.
“There’s my dove.” He whispers into my ear before coming back to my mouth.

One word sums up this book…  HOT!! Lisa Eugene has a way with writing sexy dialogue, which I just love!   I guarantee that you will be panting by the time you finish Steal My Heart.   I loved Maggie.  She is my favorite type of heroine.  You know, the nice girl type.  What I liked the most is how real her character seemed.  I could imagine meeting her at the hospital and becoming instant best friends.What can I say about Gabe??  He is uber sexy!! He is tall, dark, and handsome.  The perfect hero.  Steal My Heart was full of action and suspense.   I will be honest.  I am not usually big on this type of romance novel.  I am more of a “girl meets boy, they fall in love, fight over stupid stuff, get back together, and they all live happily ever after” kind of reader.  But, Lisa wrote this in a way that made me truly enjoy it.  It was well written.  No stand out errors that I noticed.   I am giving it a four, only because I wished it had been longer.  Would I recommend it? Yes

Kyle's is the pain of his childhood and dealing with his own actions.   When these two come together, it is pure fireworks!  I freaking loved it.  I adored this book from the first sentence till the end.  AMAZING!  I absolutely love L.D. Davis' reading style.  She is descriptive, without going overboard.  She writes with a ton of heat, but does not cross the line over to erotica.  Her books are clean and error free.  She is just full of awesomeness!Would I recommend it?  YES    AMAZON    -   SMASHWORDS

I want to start out by saying this chick can write.  She has a way of characterization that makes you feel like you know the people you are reading about.  They are your friends, lovers, and enemies.  BRAVO!His Wicked Game is a fun as hell read.  Its also a quick and easy read.  I was done with a few hours, but I'm a quick reader.  It was vacation read.  Lets just say that I had an awesome vacation and so did my husband.   I'm not going to go into the plot, because the synopsis covered it.  I will say that the book is a deeper read than you may think.  Yes, I did laugh a time or two.  I also got a little hot and bothered once or twice.  But, I also felt real emotion.
Now lets talk about the important stuff...  SEX!!!  I will sum it up with one word/name.  Calder!  If anyone knows where to find a man like Calder to rent for a day or two, please let me know.  He definitely earned a spot on my sexylicous book boyfriend list. 
Now it time to pick on the book a bit.  I did feel like some of the scenes that I felt were left a little unfinished, but it was nothing that I could not look over. 
Overall, this was a really good read. I can not wait for book two,  Truth or Dare.
Would I recommend it?  Yes

He studied Jacob's face, taking in the spark in his eye that showed desire, and a little something more. Bud laughed to himself as he turned away. “Yeah, I know just how you feel boy. Better hope Katie gives in soon, or it's going to be one hell of a chase.”

I follow Megan locking the door as we go, the front of this house has so many trees so you cannot see anything until you get to the gate. Megan is standing at the gate with a huge smile on her face. I get to the gate and notice a stretched limo, a pink one.
“OMG, I love it.” I sequel
“I knew you would Jenny” Megan winks
I look at the limo, getting my phone out to take some pictures of it, I have to tease Rich, and he will be a strip club if I know Luke at all.
“Look in the limo Jenny” Megan orders
I walk over to the limo to the back doors, opening it up to see all my closest friends sat there with glasses.
“YEAHHHHH” They all shout.
“OMG, could tonight get any better?” I turn to face Megan
“I don’t know, we will have to wait and see.”
Megan is up to something, I know it. I don’t mind, it’s my party, I can’t wait.
“Come on everyone, out you get for a group photo” Megan says
I stand by the limo, giving all my guest hugs, they all look amazing they are all dressed to impress. Tonight is going to be amazing. The limo driver gets out of the limo and walks towards Megan, he is wearing a black suit with hat. He passes Megan something before taking her phone off her, she is giggling at him. I wonder what he said, what they are planning.
